Magical Mystery Tour

The best place to wait out the storm

We spent four wonderful days here. The weather was awful but we didn't mind, because the place had such an amazing view and so many books to look at. We appreciated the comfortable bed, well-designed (and thoughtfully-stocked) kitchen, rain ponchos & bear bells (for when it graduated from pouring to just regular-raining). We were sad to leave but are looking forward to going back!

Bjorn Holm was a lovely place to stay for a few days in Port Renfrew. The space is beautiful with a well-appointed kitchen and thoughtful touches.

Phenomenal!

Property owners are absolutely fabulous! Every detail thoughtfully covered with extra special surprises. Beautiful design with spectacular custom woodwork and furnishings. So peaceful, comfortable and clean. Felt like home. Loved it so much we requested to add another night to our already three night stay. Would have stayed longer if we could have made it work with our travel plans. The view is breathtaking especially the sunsets as you sit on the balcony relaxing. Private enough to do yoga on the balcony in the mornings. Very relaxing and peaceful surroundings, felt at ease and safe. Port Renfrew is a feel good community. Unbelievable history, nature and hiking to enjoy and respect. Nice eateries with great food and service. Thank you Shelley and Jan for sharing your pride and joy with others. We can feel all the love that went into making Bjorn Holm. We so hope to make it back!

Warm and cozy

Beautiful space and view. The wood accents around the space really made you feel warm and cozy. We are pleased that the power did not go out! Hosts were very organized and generous.

Wish we could have stayed longer!

Beautiful property! Every last detail was considered. Beautiful views, cozy gas fireplace, kitchen with everything you could ever need, snacks available to guests, comfortable bed, towel warmers and warm floor in the bathroom. The weather was perfect for hiking and exploring the area. Wish we’d had an extra day to take our kayak out! Regardless, we had a lovely stay. Highly recommend.

A Great Adventure!

My husband and I traveled to this terrific cottage with our dog for an extended weekend getaway! The cottage was extremely well laid out and very cozy and comfortable. The owners have provided everything that you could possibly need for a getaway to nature. The views were exceptional and we truly enjoyed the choices for hiking. We opted not to use the amazing chef's kitchen and chose to dine at the local restaurants. The hosts provide a notebook of extremely helpful information with suggestions which were spot on. We really enjoyed the amenities and left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. We highly recommend this beautiful holm!

Amazing location to relax and decompress

If you need a break from the hustle; look no further. We traveled in off season, and while a lot was shut down around town; you don’t need it as this place has everything you could ever imagine available to you. Bing your core groceries and you are all set! Amazing place.

Truly an amazing place!

Upon walking through the door of Bjorn Holm we felt an instant excitement and comfort of this cozy place! Every last detail from the unique decor, the stunning kitchen and phenomenal view of Port San Juan was well thought out. Stunning waterfront stay

What a dream this place was. The design and attention to detail of this apartment was only surpassed by the ocean and mountain view from it. Immaculate, beautifully equipped, with all appliances one might possibly need, as well as thoughtful gifts left for their guests, Shelly and Jan sure know how to receive people and make their stay really special. We were completely enchanted by this getaway and would absolutely love to return sometime soon!

Landed in Heaven

Myself and my friend had the most wonderful time in Shelley and Jan's place in Port Renfrew. We felt like we had landed in a spa. Although our visit was too short, we will be absolutely back again to take full advantage of the wonderful, cosy, clean and tidy property with the most incredible views! Thanks for having us.

a beautiful home with a beautiful view

The home is beautifully outfitted with custom wood furniture and artistic touches throughout. We were greeted with welcome treats and there is nothing you need that is not there. Two cautions-- the general store in town had practically no fresh food of any sort- so come prepared. (we did buy fresh salmon at the truck near the pub) and there is no cell service.

As first time hosts, Jan and I have put our passion for details and wood into our home and hope you will enjoy BjĂžrn Holm and Port Renfrew as much as we do. Good weather; lots of wildlife sightings; fabulous scenery.

My husband (born in Denmark) and I (born in British Columbia) have lived and worked together for 40+ years selling custom, quality lumber and wood flooring at West Wind Hardwood Inc; located in Sidney (Vancouver Island), BC, Canada. We have two adult girls. One lives locally and the other lives far, far away in Broome, Western Australia.

Our bucket-list is still full of adventures yet to be lived.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

Why not? I've been driving up here; first with my parents and later with my husband/family since 1966. It has the feel of Ucluelet/Tofino in the late 70's; long before it was discovered; still wild and woolly.

Our home was finished with heart and soul and a dash of Danish 'hygge'. Every time we open the front door and look out across the water, we feel a sense of 'wow' wash over us. It is this feeling we hope to share with you.

Port Renfrew is the gateway to ancient forests, epic hikes, and mighty surf – to eagle and the salmon and Sitka spruce. From here, you can trek, paddle, comb the beaches or cast your line.

Frommer’s describes Vancouver Island as “a mountainous bulwark of deep-green forests, rocky fjords, and wave battered headlands. For an area so easily accessible by car, the range of wildlife here is surprising: Bald eagles float above the shorelines, seals and sea lions slumber on rocky islets, and porpoises and orca whales cavort in narrow passes between islands”.
