Behöver du en paus från verkligheten? Räcker bergen dig bort för en lugn och lugn tillflyktsort? Dags för en sabbatsperiod? Målsättning reträtt? Flickahelgen? Bara du två? Oavsett om du reser ensam eller som grupp kommer föryngras i vår lugna lilla stuga med utsikt över sjön och vackra bergsområden.

På Morning Glory Cottage kan du njuta av den lugna soluppgången från vår fullskärmsveranda. På kvällen kan du ta en kort promenad för att uppleva solnedgången över Nantahala nationalskog och avsluta kvällen och njuta av den utomhus eldstaden med gott om sittplatser.

Vi har 3 sovrum och 2 fulla bad. Huvudnivån har inga steg från uppfarten till huset och har 2 sovrum - 1 kung och 1 drottning - och ett badrum med duschkabin. Perfekt för gäster i alla åldrar och fysiska förmågor. Huvudnivån har också ett fullt utrustat kök, häll med vedeldad öppen spis (och gasstarter!) och avskärmad veranda i full längd. Den lägre nivån har ett TV-rum, sovrum med king size-säng, badrum med dusch och klo-fot badkar, tvättstuga och veranda i full längd.

Morning Glory Cottage ligger i Bear Paw Community i Lake Hiwassee där North Carolina, Tennessee och Georgia samlas (inte att förväxla med staden Hiawassee, Georgia vid Lake Chatuge). Vi är 30 minuter väster om Murphy, North Carolina och en 2 timmars bilresa från Atlanta GA, Chattanooga TN, Knoxville TN och Asheville NC.

A Hidden Mountain Retreat

I’ve been traveling to the N Ga Mountains for years and never knew about this community. I would advise anyone who wants some peace and quiet to choose your cabin. The views are beautiful, both inside and out. The description and pictures given in the listing do not bring justice to what your eyes will see. My family and I look forward to returning.

Great Cabin and Amenities

We loved Morning Glory! It is in a secluded community on the Hiwassee Lake. The cabin had everything that you need to enjoy during your stay. My parents and our son took the main level bedrooms and my husband and I stayed in the basement. The furnishings are nice and there are 2 large TVs in living areas with streaming service. My son watched Netflix downstairs while we enjoyed TV upstairs. The screened in porch is the jewel of the property! We sat out there enjoying the peace and quiet most of the time. It's a tree house view of the woods and lake. There are cabins on both sides but there are nice curtains to pull across the end for privacy. We brought our dog with us so we walked up and down the road multiple times a day with her. We saw rabbits and deer daily and the sunsets at the top of the hill are amazing! The downstairs bedroom had plenty of space for her large crate and we enjoyed being able to come into the house thru the screened porch with her. The kitchen has everything except for your food. We knew that Murphey is about a 40 minute drive so running to the grocery store wasn't convenient. We brought everything with us and cooked every night. The pool was awesome and had plenty of chairs. It did end up closed for maintenance the last couple of days so I'm glad we went at the 1st of the week. We had a great time and hope to return in the future. The owners were easy to contact and very nice. Morning Glory is a wonderful place!

Family Vacation

My girls and I stayed in this cabin as the majority of our family stayed in a cabin nearby for a family reunion. Perfect place to stay for the week. Had everything we needed.

Hello! We are a mother (Sheree) daughter (Stacey) team and we live in the Atlanta area. We work hard managing our work lives and personal lives. We especially enjoy our down time with family and friends.

Morning Glory is truly our happy place and our respite from work, school and "busy" lives.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Our family has enjoyed vacationing in Bear Paw and on Lake Hiwassee since 2004 when my brother and his wife bought a house on the lake. Later they built a house to rent and later sold. Then in 2016 my dad and brothers built a family vacation home called Sleepy Hollow Vacation Retreat (VRBO #822363). Sleepy Hollow is truly a dream home but we still longed for a place of our own.

In 2017 during a family reunion in Bear Paw we learned this house was for sale by owner. We peeped in the windows, prayed about it and called the owners. It didn't take long for the four of us - Sheree & Clint, Stacey & Mike - to decide it was the right time and the right property. October 2017 it became our dream. We immediately began sprucing up this sweet home that had been empty for years as a retreat for young and old to rest and rejuvenate.

Stacey quickly named her Morning Glory Cottage.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Because Clint and I have parents who were not able to easily climb stairs the first thing to draw us to Morning Glory was the stepless entry. Bear Paw is in the mountains so most houses require a lot of stairs and steep inclines to the house. At Morning Glory, you can drive to the front door and there is one little ramp step into the house. Super easy for unloading too.

We also love that the main level has 2 bedrooms (king and queen), full bath with walk-in shower, den, kitchen and our very, very favorite - full-length screen porch. This allowed our parents (and some day us) to enjoy a nice vacation with ease.

Speaking of screen porch... the views of the lake and the mountains reminded us of sitting in a treehouse when we were young... without the climbing or swaying parts :-)

In 2022, we renovated the lower level to expand the media room so now there are 2 very comfortable areas for watching movies, playing games and sitting outside to enjoy the quiet views.

Bear Paw is a quiet, secluded community where you just hear the trees rustle in the summer and occasionally a boat passing on the lake. When real life gets so loud and you just need to be quiet and rest, come stay with us!
