Annual Christmas trip

I would rate our accommodations as average. For a house that sleeps up to 10 people, it was lacking in several areas. The main indoor dining table would only seat 6 persons, and the great room seating was the same. The eating utensils were pitiful - 8 forks and assorted spoons and knives. We don’t expect supplies to be excessive, but do think they should have at least one replacement. Thankfully, the office was helpful. The one outstanding item was the beds. They were super comfortable. Convenience of location was a big plus.

Infested with scorpions

We were so disappointed and upset that the place was infested with Scorpions. They were even in the beds and a few even stowed away in our luggage. I left a message for the manager to give me a call and no one ever did. I was hoping to address the issue without leaving such a negative review, which I try not to do.

Disappointed

We chose this unit because it was located near Warm Springs, Pine Mountain, and LaGrange. We have stayed at many cabins over the years and don’t usually complain about minor issues and have NEVER written a negative review. This unit has been neglected, it needs repairs and a deep cleaning. Two of the exterior doors were almost impossible to open (not just sticking), the privacy blind from front door and the two dormer windows were completely missing. In the bathrooms, the toilets rocked back and forth when used, some of the faucets in tubs and sinks need adjustment and the jetted tub in the first-floor bathroom has a laminated typed sign that says it is “OUT OF ORDER”. Who knows how long that it has been there. The plastic shelf that covers the crisper drawers was completely missing and crisper drawers were cracked. There was a lot of dust on the walls, windowsills, and the textured blinds had dust hanging from them. There were several different kinds of blinds, and some were broken and had missing slats. The bi-fold closet doors needed adjustment or to be replaced. This unit was a four bedroom with loft, we were unable to use the two bedrooms in the basement because we felt the damp musty smell was not healthy.

Lovely mountain cabin

We loved everything about this cabin. We had 3 families and a 4 year old. Plenty of room for everyone. Cabin has rustic mountain decor and a beautiful mountain view.

Plenty of room

The cabin was spacious enough for our family of 9 to stay and enjoy the weekend. Could have used more seating in living room/kitchen area but we made it work. Very clean and check in/out was simple.

Quiet getaway

The cabin was smaller than we expected but overall it was very nice and comfortable. We didn't think through the 3 levels as most of our group was 75 yrs and above so climbing stairs was a bit of a problem but we managed and had a great time there.

The Good, the Bad ...

I wanted to write a rave review for this property, but this very lengthy review is a mix of good and bad. There is much in the great category. Very helpful staff, location is perfect for anything you want to do in the Pine Mountain/Warm Springs area, the cabin is nestled in woods right next to other cabins, but we didn’t really notice them. The porches offered lovely view, and lots of seating upstairs and down to sit with coffee outside. WiFi and the one tv worked great, and so for those of our family who couldn’t live without electronics for a couple days, they were able to get connected. Our combined family of 8 was comfortable sitting around the living/dining area playing games and enjoying the fire every evening. However, everyone did not get a comfy chair. Some sat at 4-place breakfast table, and we brought an outside chair in, too. Kitchen upstairs had all we needed, and we cooked. Glad I pre-baked some items as the oven is not full-sized. You had to bring upstairs dishes to downstairs, but the downstairs had full-sized fridge and coffee maker. We had a water leak in the kitchen and staff came right away to cleanup and repair. As for the not so great. This cabin is showing its age. Do not expect pristine conditions. I would say in general everything is functional, but not always pretty. Downstairs is musty, limescale stains in tub, toilets rock because of uneven floors, patch on wall which isn’t painted same color as wall, clothes closet in one room, the rod was not installed, carpet in basement is grungy and every cabinet and high traffic area is worn and or scuffed throughout. For us, that wasn’t a big deal. What was a big deal was the overall cleanliness of the place. The main things were clean. Fridge, oven, sink and countertops were clean. Bathroom, sink, toilet and tub were clean. Dusting done on tables, and end tables. The floor was dirty enough to make your socks dirty, cabinet fronts had spilled food down them and drawers had food crumbs and roach/bug evidence. Yes, this is a woodsy location in the South and an insect or two is expected, but when their droppings are there, ewww. All window sills had deceased bugs and kitchen blind was so dusty, there were dust bunnies on the slates. When you closed the door to downstairs bathroom, there was hair on floor, inside door glass covered in finger prints, etc. If the upkeep was better, this would be back on the great list for us.

Truly an Wonderful Place to Stay

The place is all its been written about. Very Cousy. Heating work fantastic on this cold week we were there. Views are excellent and its really not that far out of the way. Atlanta an hour and Columbus about 45 minutes away. Never the less its very much a rural area. So much we did not take advantage of. We will come again.

Great floor plan for 8 or 9 adults

Eight girlfriends in a cabin! It was a good location, within the FDR State Park and close to the venues we were visiting. Hot tub was an added plus. The manager was quick to have maintenance replace air filters, thus reducing the musty smell in the lowest level. However, a water leak dripping into one of the bathrooms was not repaired before we left. The three levels worked well for us. We enjoyed the cabin which was big enough for our group, allowing us to eat together. We will use it again if back in the area.

i had to make the best of my stay because i had ladies from other states and we could not find no other place in the area so i was given other cabins but i was bitten pretty bad by bed bugs and now getting the run around no one have call me yet

rustic and disconnected

This was my first experience with vrbo. I have used other services in the past. I was disappointed with the lack of communication regarding check-in. I finally called then during their business hours and got the info needed. Than all went well with that. The cabin was a bit more rustic than expected. But the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms and kitchen were clean and AC worked well. Also, the master bedroom and bathroom are spacious and nice. There are NO supplies in the kitchenette downstairs. We had a few issues such a stopped up sink, low water in the hot tub, wobbly toilet and cobwebs in the bedrooms. However, the front desk did address issues in a timely manner when called. The most inconvenient was no internet. we never did get internet connection during our 5 day stay (there had been storms prior to our visit) and we all had spotty cell phone coverage with the 3 main cellular companies. They were kind enough to give us a one day credit to return to try to compensate us. Also, it would be very helpful to know that there are steps and unlevel surfaces to access all the bedrooms except the master. So consider this if you have anyone with limited mobility in your party.

Great Family Retreat

Very nice cabin. Only complaint is that it could used to be a little cleaner. There were spider webs everywhere. Also only a half a roll of paper towels were there when we arrived and you are expected to replace. If that is the case we should have new supplies. The resort pool is amazing. I would go again.
