The views and isolation is what sold me on this property and boy did it not disappoint. A short walk to the beach. A marsh out back off the brilliant porch with a view that was impressive. And also pet friendly. We all had a great time.

Property is located in an incredibly beautiful, diverse ecosystem. Within a 1/8 mile of the house we saw deer, alligators, sea turtles, blue heron, osprey and a dozen other different bird species; not to mention the fish and dolphin in the ocean. Thousands of shells to see and peruse....miles of beach nearly to ourselves. The Edisto area is intentionally underdeveloped - no fast food, no high rises, no Walmart or Publix. Plenty of good places to eat, a Food Lion and the few little shops suited us just fine. The one local golf course was in great shape, plenty challenging and very reasonably priced. We are in our mid-60's; our children are in their mid to late 30's; our grandchildren range in age from 7 to 10. It worked for everybody!Dogs can go to the beach (on leash) and be let off the leash once on the beach. It worked out well for us but our dog is extremely well behaved and we didn't mind washing her down each time.

We found a little slice of heaven in this home in Edisto!! The size of the house is amazing with multiple living rooms and a separate dining room as well as seating at the bar, it offers plenty of space for multiple families and kids to stay in the same home. Also, each bedroom having its own bathroom makes a huge difference! The views were spectacular making us feel immersed in the surroundings. The ability to take a golf cart down to the beach was a game changer as it allowed me to get my mother, who can no longer make the trek to the beach on foot, back to one of her happy places. We truly enjoyed the location of the home as it was away from the busier area of Edisto but still offered a variety of restaurants and shops as well as being close to Botany Bay. We hated to leave and can’t wait until our next stay at Chiltren By The Sea.

We absolutely loved our stay here, our only complaint would be that we saved 2 weeks worth of recycling and at the end of the week there was no where for it to go. This may seemInsignificant to some but when it is an important value for sometime (caring for our planet) and you can’t act on it it really takes a lot away from the stay. Very disappointing that somewhere so fragile isn’t taking something like this seriously.
