This home and setting were beautiful. We had everything we needed in the house for a relaxing getaway weekend. We only wish the weather had been warmer so we could have sat out on the porch to enjoy the sights and sounds of the river.

Beautiful home and scenery! We are a family of 8 and we had plenty of room! Front porch and back porch were great places to relax. Fire pit for roasting s’mores. Easy access to play in the river. And an easy walk to see the waterfalls. You would never know the host lives next door. She introduced herself and was very friendly but let us be. Their dogs visit and went along on walks. The kids loved that! Great places to relax to stay!

Wonderful getaway!

Our two families had a fantastic time. The home is very comfortable and so well stocked. We loved hanging out by the river and exploring the area. Highly recommend.

It warms my heart when guests feel the same way we do about this area and our home. It’s a great father spot to meet in the middle for families who live far apart. Hope you’ll be back soon!

Great house, beautiful location

We totally enjoyed the house. It is adequately stocked. The fire pit was awesome as well as the backyard. Arden is beautiful. Would stay again

Great river getaway

The house was much larger than expected! My husband met his brother there with the kids and all had a great time. Enjoyed having the dogs around too as the welcoming crew!

Our friendly doggie think we have a very large extended family and they are official welcoming committee. 😅 We often get offers from guests to adopt them! However if they are ever annoying, we will happily keep them confined to our home. Hope you’ll be back soon!

Inviting, cozy, lovely surroundings. This property is exactly as described, and we very much enjoyed the sounds of the river rolling by. There were plenty of amenities inside and outside and our party of 8 was more than comfortable. The host was available and approachable and kind. Thank you for a really lovely, quiet, stay.

I have rented vacation houses all over the country, this is the first rental that I would love to stay in again. The location was wonderful, the house was so clean. Sherry was very easy to work with.

Piacentino weekend

The house was a little hard to find the first day but we were fine getting around after that. We were welcomed by Sharon, who couldn’t have been more helpful. The house is very nice. It had everything we needed. The views were amazing and we loved just sitting on the front porch watching the river.

A little out of the way, but worth it!

6 of us were on the area for a family reunion in Grafton. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor space, with the younger of us having fun in the river. The house was really beautiful, and well-appointed. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. There's a lot of living space inside and out. The host lives next door and has 2 large, friendly dogs, who enjoyed visiting us. We hope to come back sometime, and sure hope to stay at this location; it was great!

Awesome vacation home!

We loved this vacation property so much! We had such a great time here. The house is beautiful and clean with a gorgeous river view. There is so much space with the bedrooms to have space and it is also great for time together. We loved the river and our kids swam right there and also down the road a little bit where there is a beach. Town is close with food stores, restaurants, etc. Owners are such a great family who are right next door and so very helpful. We also loved to see the neighborhood dogs and will really miss them and this house now that we are home. We loved it here and hope to return again in the future!

Awesome!

My stay here was the perfect getaway! This guest house captured my heart right away with a warm and inviting atmosphere! The kitchen was spacious and fully equipped and there is also a washer and dryer. We had the choice of sitting on the front porch to enjoy the view of the beautiful Tygart River or have coffee in the morning on the secluded, back porch. All weekend I felt totally at home as it was very quiet and relaxing. Each room is clean and tastefully decorated and very well maintained. The property owners were friendly and definitely went out of their way to make my stay special! I just cannot say enough good about my visit at this Charming Riverside Guest House and Retreat! I cannot wait to come back again!

Better than described. Larger than described. Perfect for family gathering!

There are 12 of us. 7 adults and 5 kids (4-7 yrs). It is tough to find a place that fits everyone's needs. Well -Tygart Lake Guest House was amazing. We rode bikes, we hiked, we visited the waterfall, we swam in the lake as well as the river, we celebrated a birthday, we brought food and there was plenty of space to put it. We had a bonfire, we cooked s'mores, we used the grill - there is inside eating and outside eating areas and tables and chairs - areas in the front and areas in the back to sit, relax or watch the kiddos play. There are three bathrooms! There is a washer and dryer! There are games in the closet in the living room. The glorious quiet. My grand daughter, age 7, wants to buy it - it was perfect for our whole family! Only one suggestion: Take all you want food wise because it is a long way to get a gallon of milk!

nice and relaxing

We stay Tygart river guest house on Feb 16~ Feb 18. First, we are arrived 7pm after sun goes down, it was hard to find the vacation house. we are highly recommend to be there before the dark. after we find the house, we have really enjoy our weekend get out. the house is very clean and they have everything we need for. next day, there were two dogs(black and brown color). We thought it's from owners house, but we were not sure. anyway they are very friendly. Our kids and even I petting them. We have enjoy the drive around with our trucks. they have fun road to drive. I think it was perfect to ride truck(i have wrangler). We hope we have little better weather, but we enjoy whole time when we stay. Also when we were back home, we passing by beautiful snow town. It was lucky we got little snow overnight. Thank alot Sherry. We really had a great time. Kyoo....

I am so glad you enjoyed yourselves! It was a very wet weekend and I think it's great you didn't let that stop you from getting outside to have some fun and explore the mountain roads in your truck. :-) There's always something to get into no matter what the weather! I am continually in awe of seeing the river when it's so big and powerful - a sight to see! Oh, and I agree it is always a great idea to get in before dark when you're unfamiliar with the area. Google maps can bring folks in some very creative ways for sure! Having a printout of directions is handy just in case and you can always call us if you're not sure. Thank you leaving the house in such great condition. Please come and visit again soon!

The house was great for weekend getaway. While the river access directly across from the house didn’t lend itself to swimming, we found good river access for swimming tubing just a mile down the road. We made nightly use of the fire pit. We appreciated the pet friendly option as well and the owners’ dogs came by for visits. They are very friendly and gentle.

Very clean, comfortable and lovely older home. The AC worked great and all the beds were very comfortable. The river access was right across the road, which was very seldom traveled. All the grandkids loved swimming and playing in the river. And the icing on the cake were the two very friendly and lovable dogs that belonged to the owner of the house. They came over every daytime and evening to visit. I would definitely go back and would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful and peaceful

Lovely house, very comfortable (we were eight) with many beautiful details. The front porch and back deck were favorite for hanging out. The area is gorgeous. The river was unfortunately too high for swimming, but the nearby Tygart lake is fantastic. Our multi-generation family had a great time and made lasting memories.

Great vacation spot!

Need to unplug and unwind? This is the place for you. Two families (4 kids) stayed here. Enough space for the kids to do their own thing without bothering parents, when they weren't in the river. We spent most evenings sitting in the river, relaxing, while the kids tired themselves out. The location is close enough to horseback riding, rafting, visit museums.

Very comfortable, impeccably clean

The owners of this property clearly invested a lot of thought and effort into making this place a highly desirable place to stay. The accommodations, interior and exterior, were perfect. The house has a country charm and is tastefully decorated. The kitchen is well equipped and the furnishings are very comfortable. Highly recommended.
