This has been the best place I have stayed in the last 9 years of coming! The host was amazing and was great on responding to messages. They have bikes to ride as well as paddle-board. I HIGHLY recommend this place! You will love it as much as I did!

This great little hide away was perfect! As soon as you walk on the beach vibes and decor gives it a relaxing home feeling. Both rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. The house is very clean and up to date. There is extra linens and towels in both bathrooms. The kitchen is stocked with everything you would need for your stay. The small front deck is perfect to sit and enjoy the evening air and sunset. The peace and tranquility of Venture Out is perfect. Your only 20 miles from key west and even less from grocery stores. The host was also very accommodating and helpful with questions we had prior to our stay. It’s definitely a place we would stay at again.

617 Venture Out

It was neat and clean. Our schedule didnt allow us to use the kayak but we used the bikes to pedal to the pool. Staying with family and having two bathrooms was very convenient. Any questions we had for the host were answered in a timely manner. The host was very friendly and kind to our needs as well. We left our beach chairs at the hosted location as he didnt have any available to us and we could not travel home with them. We intend to return at a later date.

The venture out community was wonderful. Dave’s property was cozy and very home like.He was easy to get in touch with and answered any of my questionsSome extra perks in the rental unit were available to us( beach basket, towels, kayak & paddle board)We would definitely come back again!

Wonderful quiet community with so many fun activities. Tennis, pickle ball, and swimming pool. Need to bring your own life jackets for kayaks.

Convenient Cudjoe Key Cottage

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage and in the complex. We liked: the open layout and the decor, the well-functioning appliances, the quiet fans and a/c, the athletic facilities like the pool, etc. We would have liked to be able to set the temperature below 74 at times. We also found the beds a bit firm; my wife ended up sleeping on the couch.

Great for a family get away

This place had everything we needed. Check-in was easy, security was friendly, but did tell us there are a lot of rules and to not break them. Remember to bring cash or check for the $125 security fee upon check in. Most rules were common curtesy and easy to follow. They do not allow any beverages by the pool, except bottled water, which was slightly annoying, but not a huge issue. Pool, tennis courts, boat launch, basket ball courts, playground, and a small store with snacks and beverages. The property itself was clean and stocked with all kitchen items and linens we needed. It's close to Key West (about 30ish minutes) and has a lot of restaurants and shops close by. Overall great stay!

Unpleasant rude host, hidden fees

Be careful about the fees for staying at the resort that the VRBO property is located. They conveniently hide that from you, so beware. The fee is not nominal. Be careful about bringing any extra vehicles. You will be charged. You are not allowed to bring more than one vehicle without being charged daily. You may not bring a third card even if you do pay for it. There are plenty of other hosts who will not call you names when you ask where an extra set of towels are, go with them instead. The middle of the night - I wish I was kidding. Someone was knocking on our door. When we arrived and were just putting our bags down some random woman walked in then walked out. What I am saying is this place is weird, or at least we had a very weird and unpleasant experience. The host is to blame for me even writing this review. He called me ungrateful when asking for a set of towels.

Not Worth the Cost + Commute to Key West

Everything needs updated. The listing shows a $125 fee via cash or check only. We arrived and were told they don't accept "ancient" checks and charged an extra $4.99 to pay by card. The welcome book on the counter is at least 2.5 years outdated. The dishwasher did not actually wash dishes, requiring us to hand wash. The outlet in the master bathroom did not work, nor did one in the master bedroom. There are places with visible rust, including the microwave and outdoor chairs. We chose to make the 40+ min drive into Key West over a closer hotel as we thought we'd have better sleeping arrangements. The master bed is basically a rock with 2 pieces of cheap foam, which flattens instantly. I woke up 5-10 times each night. I love a firm bed, but it was terrible. The twin beds make so much noise that one kid woke the other up every time she moved, which is not ever an issue. Quiet hours went until 7am, but I was woken by people outside talking just past 6am on 3/4 mornings because the walls are so thin. It was a huge disappointment to not sleep well. The unit was well stocked with dishes, towels, beach toys and a cooler. It was surface clean (swept, counter wiped down, etc) but needed dusted. The community hot tub was nice. We went 2x, and there was only 1 other person. We did not spend much time on property other than to sleep, but I liked having security guards with numerous security cameras. It felt very safe. Random lobster day

We came for the surprise lobster day for Florida residents. The area was great. Very clean neighborhood with lots of enforced rules. Thankful to have boat and trailer parking.
