The country house is on a 12-hectare estate with an orchard with organic cultivation. The location in the Arno Valley, not far from the banks of the river, affords a beautiful view of the Casentine hills. Poppi and Pratovecchio are three kilometres away.

The big garden is available for your own private use, with children’s play equipment, table football and a grill. You can gather herbs here for cooking and grilling, or enjoy the shade under the high trees on hot summer days. The River Arno, which pets can also bathe in, flows past the site. The sun terrace around the pool provides sun loungers, deckchairs, benches and parasols. The 6 x 12-metre pool invites you to cool off and relax. It has steps and is illuminated both inside and outside, for use from the beginning of May to the beginning of October. The terrace in front of the house is roofed and has benches and a big table, so you can dine outdoors. There are private parking spaces on site. The owners, who live in the building neighbouring the country estate, welcome guests personally and can offer homemade ham, as well as precious saffron. Bread can be delivered on request (Mondays to Saturdays, price depending on order).

The country house can accommodate nine people. The house has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and 160m² of living space on two floors. The ground floor (80m²) has a big and light living room with two big bay windows, affording a wonderful panorama like paintings. The living room provides two sofas, a fireplace, satellite TV, a dining table with chairs and a kitchen unit equipped with a gas stove with five rings, an oven, a cooker hood, a fridge with a freezer compartment, a dishwasher and other electrical appliances. There is a bathroom with a window, shower, WC, bidet, washbasin and washing machine. The big bedroom has a double bed (or two single beds) and a window with an insect screen that can be darkened and a terrace door that can also be darkened, providing access to the terrace outside. There are wooden stairs from the living room to the first floor (60m²), with a bedroom with a double bed, an entrance via outdoor stairs, windows that can be darkened, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, bidet, WC and washbasin. The third bedroom with a double bed and a window that can be darkened affords a wonderful view of the hills and the Romena medieval castle. The fourth bedroom with a double bed and a window that can be darkened leads to a lovely balcony. Next to the rooms there is a bathroom with a shower, bidet, WC and two washbasins. The double beds all measure 180 x 190cm. All the rooms are tastefully and comfortably furnished and also have heating. Towels and bed linen are included (hand towels are changed weekly, bath towels and bed linen every 14 days). Internet access is available for a fee.Please note: If you book with not more than 7 guests only three bedrooms and three bathrooms will be at your disposal.

It is about 2km to the nearest grocery shop. The Adriatic coast is about a 90-minute drive away and the Tyrrhenian Sea is a two-hour drive away. You can also swim in the lake 1.5km from the centre of Pratovecchio or in the River Arno. Pratovecchio and Poppi are 3km away. You can go on trips to the zoo at Poppi, to the pilgrimage church della Verna, to the Camaldoli hermitage and the Foreste Casentinesi National Park. Florence is an hour away by car, Arezzo 40 minutes and Siena 90 minutes. You can even go on a day trip to Rome, the Eternal City, just an hour and five minutes away by express train. The holiday home is surrounded by a two meter high fence.
