Little piece of Paradise

Beautiful views and a lovely sea breeze were a great way to start and end the day. There was no problem transitioning to "island time" and just sitting and relaxing.

Relaxing Retreat

This property was great! It was clean and comfortable! The views were amazing! Everything we needed and lots of extras to make our stay even better! Earl was super responsive and friendly. All you need is a bathing suit and flip flops!!

Perfect vacation spot

Property as described. It is a beautiful condo with spectacular views. It is centrally located so exploring the island is easy. There are two restaurants within walking distance. Owner was super to work with and provided for all our needs including beach towels for our use. Pack your swimsuit and book at this one for a relaxing vacation.

Perfect location that is steps to the water

We had an amazing time in St. Croix! Thanks to the owners of this beautiful condo for providing everything we needed for our daily adventures(snorkeling equipment, beach chairs/towels, cooler and even a bottle of rum) We felt very safe in the colony cove gated community and was a super quick drive to the boardwalk. The view from this condo is gorgeous!

We came to stay for our anniversary and our friend’s anniversary as well. The condo was clean, had what we needed and in a decent location. Talking with the manager was a breeze. We will definitely being using them again if we’re ever able to come back!

Fantastic Stay

We had an unforgettable time at Toes in the sand. The location was unbelievable right on the water with an artificial reef just steps away,with amazing snorkeling (all equipment provided even pool noodles). The accommodations inside were just as amazing with comfortable beds and a modern kitchen with granite countertops and tons of cabinet space. We were met with every thing we needed needed even down to a cooler and a wide section of sunscreens. I would highly recommend this Gem and will gladly book again if we ever visit St. Croix again!

Great family vacation

Toe's in the Sand. Great title, that says it all. Place is right on the beach. Large family room Kitchen combo, overlooking the ocean. Waking up every morning and seeing the ocean, Amazing. Bedrooms on the back side of condo are very spacious. The kids loved snorkeling the man made tire reef. We will rent again.

A little TLC

The overall stay was good. The location was great, by the pool, and could see the ocean at all times. Being a condo owner in Naples, Florida, I take pride in my condo when people are renting it. Making sure everything is clean and well stocked. That beinging said, this condo needs some TLC. Also, when it was raining, water was coming through the air conditioner in the front bedroom. We washed the doorwall windows and the floors were not clean.

Great View!

The view was great and right next to the Ocean! Place was clean and had dishes and everything you need to cook a meal. Had trouble getting into the condo at first since the batteries died in the electric door lock and the emergency key was not in the lockbox like it was supposed to be. Had to sit in the heat for a half an hour waiting for Earl but when he got there he was great! Spent some time turning on the a/c and fans and had a lot of great suggestions for dining and grocery options. Very friendly and informative. I would suggest putting some hooks to hang wet towels and swimsuits and some shelves in the bathroom for toiletries since there really isn’t any room on the sink to place your things. We had a great stay and would definitely come stay here again!

A great short trip!

The condo was exactly as represented .. On the water ... Toes in the sand!! Eric, was more than helpful!! We had a power failure on our second night and he was available and even found us a place to stay that evening until the power was restored the following morning!! A huge shout out to him!!

Relaxing Retreat

Enjoyed a beautiful week at this condo. It is less than a 10 min drive to Christiansted and next door to Sugar Beach. The owner was super helpful/responsive when we had questions and even personally dropped off a replacement coffee pot. Normally I stay in a Marriott, but I wanted extra space to be able to telework- this was a perfect solution. There is an outdoor patio with the perfect oceanfront view which became my remote office (wireless internet handled my video meetings without issue.) Wish I had stayed an extra week.

We actually didn't stay at this property because it wasn't approved for rental by the local government yet and issued a "certificate of occupancy". But my review for Earl is what I'm doing here as he set us up with a similar property next door on the beach and the entire honey moon vacation was great! The island was super fun. Rent a car and drive in the left to explore it all. Super fun. We did a jeep and recommend a jeep for the potholes, ease of parking, and off road capability. You'll still be in an American car driving set up (driver on left) but will stay left.

Neat and Tidy - well furnished

We had a nice time at the condo. It was well equipped, clean, and good A/C in the bedrooms. It was very affordable and was a good place to take our 2 high school aged kids. Earl was so great to take care of any little thing we needed and was very prompt if we had to reach out to him. Our ONLY complaint was the sand was so rough and not at all like the sand of the beaches of the Caribbean that we are used to. That was disappointing since we thought we would be able to walk out the back door and be on a nice beach. We rented a car and visited many other beaches so it was not that big of a deal, just not what we expected. This is an affordable place in a good location - I would recommend it to others.

Another fantastic stay at Toes in the Sand!

This was my third time staying at Toes in the Sand, and it was (as usual) delightful. Earl is super easy to communicate with, and prompt to respond to any issues. There were bottles of rum waiting for us when we arrived, and several different sunscreens we could use if we ran out. Earl takes hospitality seriously, and it shows! This property is located right on the beach, and there's an extensive tire reef just a short swim from the shore where you can see at least dozens of different kinds of fish (squirrelfish, angelfish, blue tangs, porcupine fish, several varieties of grunts, lionfish, harlequin bass, several varieties of goatfish, red hinds, sand perch, butterflyfish, and more!) We were worried about the sargassum, but it wasn't as bad as we'd thought from the videos we saw shortly before the trip. We'll be back to visit, and we will plan to rent this same unit again and again!

Great condo on the north side

Fantastic location, only a few miles from town. You can be as quiet & secluded as you want, by walking out the patio door onto the sand in front of the condo, or talk with all the regular owners and guests at the pool/beach area right in front of the pool. If you want groceries/drinks, Food Town about a mile from the condo is the best bet with decent selection, and Pueblo is another close option. Colony Cove is rocky directly in front of the property, but Sugar Beach right next door (to the right) has a really nice sandy beach for swimming. Or out the door to the left in front of Mill Harbor there is a man-made reef for snorkeling. Note - if you arrive in Dec or January and experience the Christmas winds, you will enjoy a strong breeze that keeps the bugs at bay and makes the humidity tolerable...however the snorkeling could be sketchy because the wind churns up the normally beautiful turquoise-blue water to a hazy blue-brown with no visibility. And sadly we missed going to Buck Island because there is no way the average person would get on a boat in that wind. But relaxing at the community and having good waterfront restaurants in town made it worth-while.

Excellent! Beautiful renovated condo near Christiansted

This condo was renovated after the 2017 hurricane. The unit is on the ground floor, with a terrific patio that allows direct beach access. Beautiful views of the sea, Buck Island and the port in Christiansted are seen from the living room and large kitchen. You are only a five minute drive to town, 15 minutes to the airport and just minutes to grocery stores and restaurants. There are two restaurants you can walk to on the beach and both are very good for food and drinks. You can snorkel right off the beach and go out to a tire reef where we saw stingrays, tropical fish and huge starfish. The pool is lovely, large and clean. Overall the condo was very clean and spacious for our group of 4. If you need to watch TV, they have smart TVs so you can load your apps and watch what you want. Bedrooms are very comfortable and there was plenty of storage for clothes and gear. There are just a few things they could add to the condo: the front door lock is difficult and you have to manipulate it a bit to get it to work. The baths could use a couple of towel bars, and the kitchen needs a few more provisions like a can opener, some large mixing/salad bowls and a few more glasses. Part of the beach was dug up near the condo so you could not sit on the beach near the pool. It looks like they were in the process of fixing a pipe or something, so we just went down the beach a bit. Hopefully this is a short-term project that will be resolved soon. Overall we highly recommend Toes in the Sand! Earl the property manager is a gem too! Thanks for a great vacation!

work in progress on the water

Stayed for two weeks, and as others have said the condo is very well located and very well stocked with everythig you would need. We had our own cooler, towels, and snorkel gear, but if you don't, it is all there for you. Later found closet full of games, etc. Kitchen fully stocked with all needed items. Ceiling fans worked as did A/C in bedrooms. It was hot when we were there, and even if you opened the sliders and front door it was still hot and stuffy. Called owner, and he brought over a fan that helped if you moved it around. Lost power a couple of times during stay. The patio is reallly the only place to sit for a meal, and it could get hot out there. A ceiling fan out there would make it perfect. One night we sat and watch the crazy rain storms roll in from the sea. The wifi always worked fine. The kitchen appears to have been kept in good condition, but the bedrooms and baths could use some work. Again, this is not a luxury condo, and the price reflects this so can't complain too much. The cleaning crew needs to pay more attention to details as there were spider webs hanging from entire ceiling in bedroom and ceiling fan - not new ones. If you are a clean freak, don't look behind the blinds in the bedroom. If we owned this property there are a number of things that we would take care of before we listed it again. At some time there were doors to the bathrooms and beddrooms, but they are no longer there. The toilet seat in one of the bathrooms is about to fall off, and the shower door handle is falling off. A number of the floor tiles in the queen befroom are not attached to the sub floor. These are the tiles right next to the bed so ou have to walk on them all the time, and they make an awful sound when you walk on them. Some of the sheets, towels, matress pad and comforters are ripped and worn, and s I would hire a painter with better eyesight. We would like to think that this is a work in progress, and the problems will be taken care of. As others have said Earl was a great owner to work with. It is always nice when owners live on island. He came over when we checked in, and gave us lots of good ideas of things to do while on lthe island. I don't want to sound like a picky complainer, but you should know the facts. If you must have a luxury condol, this is not it, but it is convenient to everything, and you are right on the water. We sought out ground floor becasue we preferred not to have step, but you will hear walking around overhead

We acquired our first Colony Cove unit in 2011 as a stepping stone onto the island.
( Toe's in the Sand VRBO 508070)
We purchased it 'site unseen', packed up our belongings, pets and business and were not disappointed in the least. Our plan was to live in the condo while building our business, then to buy a house and vacation rent the condo.
We have been fortunate enough to realize that dream.
We are still on island with no intention of ever leaving this tropical paradise.

Colony Cove is a beach side gated complex with pool, grills and tennis courts. All units have a least a partial ocean view. 'D' building is directly on the beach. Our unit is not only in the coveted 'D' building, but is ground floor with beach access from the unit. It is also at the private end and closest to Coral Sea Cafe restaurant.
The gate to Coral Sea is just out the front door to the right, or walk out back and take the beach route:)
