Poor Communication and Maintenance
From the start, communication with the property manager was poor. When I got in touch with him, the first thing he mentioned was how busy he was. Responses were consistently delayed.
2 weeks prior to arrival, I contacted him regarding cleaning services and requested snack platters, drinks, and breakfast items since we were arriving late. He kindly placed the grocery order and had it delivered the day of our arrival, which was helpful. However, the groceries, including cold items and drinks, were left out on the counter, meaning everything was warm by the time we arrived. To make things worse, there was only one tray of ice cubes available for a group of eight people, which was insufficient.
The villa itself had several maintenance issues. None of the doors closed properly because they didn’t fit the door frames, and most of the sun beds were broken, showing clear signs of neglect. I was surprised there weren’t basic supplies like dish soap or trash bags. The expectation to take out the trash ourselves was fine, but providing no bags was an oversight.I had requested a mid-week service or at least some fresh towels. When I messaged the property manager mid-stay to follow up, he did not respond in time. By the time he replied, we were already preparing to leave.
The three lower-level bedrooms smelled of mold, and one of them had an awful smell coming from the drains. With only one set of keys for 8, the check in lady gave hers as an extra set...the location is great.
