Vackert, lugnt Woodstock Mountain House med badtunna och pingpong

Hemmet Àr avskilt och varmt men med alla moderna bekvÀmligheter. Det ligger mitt i fyra trÀdbevuxna tunnland, utan nÄgot annat hus i sikte, men ligger bara 1. 8 miles frÄn centrum av staden Woodstock. Jag köpte den sommaren 2013 och har haft mÄnga avkopplande helger bort frÄn NYC.

Den ursprungliga interiören Àr full av varma, knutna tallvÀggar, trÀgolv och en vedeldad spis. Hösten 2013 konverterade jag en angrÀnsande konstnÀrstudio till ett stort rum. Det har nu katedralen i tak, trÀbjÀlkar och ljusa tallgolv. Den har ocksÄ en helt ny nedfylld Room & Board soffa och schÀslong, ett helt nytt ping-pongbord, en gas vedspis och en 55-tv med DirecTV.

Hemmet har tvÄ sovrum, tvÄ badrum och en tvÀttmaskin och torktumlare. Det stora sovrummet har takhöjd i tallkatedralen, Russell Wright-möbler, en helt ny, kvalitetskungmadrass och sitt eget privata dÀck pÄ andra vÄningen. Det andra sovrummet har ocksÄ katedraltak, mÄlade knutiga tallvÀggar och tak, en helt ny drottningssÀng och en dagssÀng som kan omvandlas till en kung. SÀngmadrasserna Àr alla av hög kvalitet, helt nya och mycket bekvÀma.

Köket har allt: gasspis, stort kylskÄp, diskmaskin, mikrovÄgsugn och alla kokverktyg, grytor och stekpannor och disk du kan behöva. Köket leder till en lugn avskÀrmad bakre veranda som vetter mot den blÄ stenuteplatsen och ut i skogen. Fyra steg upp frÄn uteplatsen Àr en helt ny badtunna som vetter ut över huset.

Den frÀmre gÄrden Àr vackert anlagd med blÄ stenvÀgar och trappsteg. Cirka 100 meter till sidan av huset - fortfarande pÄ fastigheten - Àr en bergsbÀck.

House was very comfortable. Everything was well kept and clean. Kitchen was a bit smaller than expected but it was fine. Loved having 2 separate living areas with their own fireplaces. Location was a bit confusing to find but we got the knack of it. Loved having a screened in porch. Host was very prompt in answering any questions

Mountainside Haven

The house is cozy while having everything you need in a getaway. Views out to trees out of every window. Screened in porch was a particularly lovely feature. It was comfortably furnished as the entire house was. David was attentive to every need.Secluded but also near town. Great.

The house was exactly as pictured/described. The proximity to town was such a great convenience, all while feeling secluded and in nature on the property. David was a friendly host available via call or email if we had any questions. Would recommend!

Peaceful, cozy get away

We had a lovey time at this home. The decor is tasteful, comfortable, and cozy. The bedrooms were large and there was a small living room with a fireplace and a large great room with a very easy to use gas stove. We had cozy evenings with the fire going. The setting is very peaceful and quiet. Everything was clean even for picky me. David was easy to work with and laid back but responsive. We will definitely return!

Fees

Place was perfect for what we needed. The lockbox was not easy to find and was not well lit. We arrived after dark and minimal amount of lighting was provided. Fee of $125 for Vrbo is ridiculously high. Cleaning fee for that area is also high. Our office gets cleaned where I work and she cleans 3 hours for $100. All they have to do is change the sheets and wiped down a bathroom.

Beautiful setting, good communication

Really wonderful location; the first thing we ntoiced was how quiet and secluded the house was, yet we were only a 5 minute car drive from the center of Woodstock. Couldn't be better. The house is large, though a bit old, but the owner was very amenable and responsive to all our requests.

Rustic retreat near Woodstock

Great rustic home in a very secluded setting in the mountains above Woodstock. 6 minutes to eclectic popular town of Woodstock with shops and great restaurants and bars. We enjoyed the screened in porch and some ping pong. The AC units are not in bedrooms so it could get a little warm in hotter weather, but we were mostly comfortable since it was cool for July and the house is nicely shaded.

Wonderful Return Stay

My husband and I returned to this property after a magical stay a few years ago. We are happy to report it has been beautifully maintained and is as special as ever. While the weather did not cooperate with us, we felt so lucky to be rained/snowed in with a house that has so much charm and comfort to offer. We cooked great meals in the well-stocked kitchen, took advantage of the fireplace and hot tub, and broke our record for longest sustained volley on the ping pong table. We found our favorite spots for reading and playing games in the dreamy great room. We enjoyed a couple of restaurants and shopping in town (wonderful to be so close). While weather got in the way of our hiking plans, we took a terrific day trip to the FDR site in Hyde Park less than an hour away. We’d come back again, it’s so lovely!

Great Mountain Getaway

My husband and I rented this house for our anniversary vacation this October. We wanted to peaceful and private mountain getaway and that is exactly what we had in this comfortable and cozy home. Everything was immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. The fireplace in the living room was fantastic on a couple of chilly rainy nights. My husband enjoy the screened in porch and the hot tub just outside the porch. Sitting in the living room looking out the big picture window gave you the feeling of being in a treehouse, seeing the tree top in the distance and watching the leaves fall, it was absolute heaven. The owner David was easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend this house for a lovely mountain getaway. Great for a couple or small family.

Mountain getaway

My wife and I stayed here for a week long vacation and we absolutely loved it! Beautiful location with wildlife all around. There was actually some wild turkeys on the front porch when we first arrived! The house was exactly how it is described and pictured. We particularly enjoyed the screened in porch on a few rainy mornings. We did have some communication with David while we were there since the one morning I woke up to a dripping kitchen ceiling. But David was very responsive and accommodating to the issue. And He ensured we still had a wonderful, relaxing stay! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a rejuvenating vacation getaway in the majestic Catskill Mountains.

Magical autumn retreat

My husband and I hosted my parents in this cabin for a long weekend and we all had a wonderful stay. The house is perfectly appointed and even nicer than it appears in the pictures. The gorgeous screen porch where we could sit and hear the babbling brook was an especially pleasant surprise. The wood fireplace, gas fireplace, and hot tub were especially lovely when the autumn nights turned chilly. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and enjoying meals together. The property is a nature lover’s paradise: we heard barred owls outside the bedroom windows and glimpsed a duo of turkeys roosting in the trees high above the hot tub. The host was gracious, communicative, and easy to reach about everything. Highly recommended.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

I looked for two years for just the right place. I wanted the feel of a cabin but the space, light, and amenities of a modern home. I wanted seclusion but proximity to town. This has it all. In the summer of 2013, I converted what was an artist's studio space into a great room with cathedral ceilings, wood beams, a ping-pong table and a gas woodstove. I also built a blue stone patio in back and added a hot tub on the rise of the back hill. Sitting in the tub, you look over the house at the tall, evergreen trees and the open sky.

The interior of the house needed no work -- the previous owner was a weaver and kept the home in meticulous, artistic shape. The knotty pine walls give it great warmth. The picture frame windows make you feel as though you are sitting in a nature painting. And when the mountain stream next to the house is racing, the sound of the water makes you forget entirely about the rest of the world.

The home's combination of warmth and seclusion with it's close proximity to town make it unique. You cannot see another house from the property and yet you are only 1.8 miles from the center of town.
