Location description: Samedan - The lively village in the Upper Engadine Samedan is not only the district capital, but also the hub of the Rhaetian Railway and home to a small international airport, the highest in Europe. Despite its economic importance, it has retained its Engadine way of life: in the village centre, traditional rows of houses with sgraffiti make for postcard subjects. For those interested in culture, the village has exciting highlights in store, above all the renovated cultural tower "La Tuor" and the traditional "Planta House" with its residential museum, cultural archive and Rhaeto-Romanic library.
