Välkommen till vår vilsama reträtt på floden (Estes Park Vacation Business License # 6040). Wade, sitta på klipporna, eller fiska vild öring i Big Thompson River och känna dina bekymmer blekna bort. Ät lunch på en av tabellerna picknick som du beundrar bergen, grilla marshmallows i eldstaden, eller bara koppla av på den stora välskötta gräsmattan.

Du kan njuta av kaffe eller te på morgonen i matsalen som du tittar på djurlivet genom fem stora fönster. Eller titta på vilda djur från nästan någon av de andra 30 fönstren i detta mysiga hus - inklusive de fem fönstren omger Jacuzzi i master bad! Avsluta dagen med att koppla i en av de stora fåtöljer i solrummet - lyssnade till floden och övriga naturens ljud. Utsikt över de snöklädda berg och lukten av vintergröna träd kommer att stanna med dig långt efter att du lämnar.

Vårt hem är i ett utmärkt läge. Vi är i slutet av en lugn enhet med en stor privat gård som går ner till floden. Ingången till Rocky Mountain National Park ligger bara en mil bort där du kan njuta av de många spår, floder och underbara sevärdheter parken har att erbjuda. Shopping är också mindre än en mil bort med många pittoreska butiker, restauranger och fredlig promenader längs floden.

River Vacation Home

We really enjoyed our stay. Home is nicely furnished and includes a great seating area near the Big Thompson River. This area was very peaceful and relaxing. We also enjoyed the visits by the elk during our stay.

Great Getaway

This house is fantastic. Our family's week long visit was great. We enjoyed the location right on the river. It's also close proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park and shops/activities/restaurants in town.

Estes Park River Home

Large back yard for kids to run around. Spacious home with lots of windows to see the wildlife and river. We stayed for our Son’s wedding and family members that came to visit loved everything the property had to offer. Would love to stay there again in the future. Seeing the Elk so close up is something we will always remember, absolutely breathtaking.

Great Stay

As advertised. Managment was easy to communicate with and overall service was exceptional. House was very clean with just about everything needed provided. Only slight negative was that there was only 2 bathrooms with one was located in the master - wish it included another 1/2 bathroom. Would highly recommend & would stay here again.

Fantastic property, host, and location

We had a wonderful stay. The home was clean, well maintained and the location was fantastic as it was close to the Rocky Mountain National Park and to downtown Estes Park. Our hosts we OUTSTANDING and so gracious to work with. We would definitely recommend your family stay at this location.

Amazing home and location.

We loved our stay everything was wonderful. Would recommend to anyone who is coming to Estes Park. We saw wildlife every morning as we drank coffee in the sunroom.

Everything was perfect. The house was fantastic and the owners were great to work with. We had a fabulous time sitting in the river on the scorching hot days. We couldn't have asked for more. Loved the location. We were close to everything. Thank you!!!

Great location

Just as described. Beautiful yard with lots of seating outside including by the river. Perfect location for ease to get into RMNP. Also only 1 mile to downtown area. Would definitely stay here again.

Setting the standard

This house has set the standard on rental houses for our family. We won’t be able to stay anywhere without comparing it to this home. Outside it has a premium location, beautiful views, and a fantastic picnic area by the river. Inside the house, attention is given to every detail. Each room was clean and prepared with ample supplies to make our stay enjoyable. The only hesitation in my recommendation is that now it will be more difficult to find an open week to reserve our next stay.

Girls trip

450 something women were originally coming to see a show at the amphitheater, but got canceled. Ended up finding a wonderful alternative to a disappointing cancellation. This house was better than the photos and close to absolutely everything. The proximity to everything gave us more time to do the things we all wanted to get done. It could not have been better. Thank you so much.

Beautiful Home!

We loved our stay here! The house is delightful with large windows for viewing wildlife, an upstairs balcony for when the herd of elk is in the backyard :), a well-stocked kitchen, comfy beds, and comfy chairs for relaxing with a book. The sounds of the river are delightful, and it is shallow enough to wade in / rock jump. Our kids had a blast. It is very close to the RMNP entrance, and we enjoyed all our hikes in the park. Downtown Estes is only a few minutes away. I'd highly recommend staying here. I can't say enough great things about the owner - she gave us great information, communicated quickly and regularly, and made us feel comfortable and at home.

Haven for Wildlife

We fell in love with Estes Park when we stayed in this beautiful home in 2017. That began a new chapter in our lives when our family decided to move to Colorado. This is a wonderful home with a beautiful yard that we were fortunate enough to rent again this past week. It was as beautiful as we remembered. We enjoyed relaxing by the river and seeing all the wildlife that visited the yard throughout our stay. The home is in a great location being close to downtown riverwalk with many restaurants and shops and just minutes from RMNP with beautiful lakes and trails. The home is so comfortable and well equipped with all the comforts of home. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts!

Fantastic property! Updated, super clean, well-kept. Great communication with owners. Great location about a mile from downtown. Gorgeous backyard and sitting area by the river. Adorable trail leading to Coffee on the Rocks and some shops. Would absolutely stay here again!

Girls Retirement Celebration

I’ve admired this property for a while and finally had the occasion to rent it — to celebrate with girlfriends upon my recent retirement! The location is wonderful and the property is beautiful — every detail and amenity has been thought through carefully to make it the ultimate vacation experience. We will definitely be back soon! Highly recommend to anyone wanting to accommodate a group in a beautiful home.

Peaceful and relaxing time

The house was in the perfect location for getting to the park and into town. Everything in the house was exactly as described- and perfectly clean. The owners communicated promptly and kept us updated with the wild fires west of the city. The sound of the water was so peaceful and relaxing. We had elk (30-50 of them) visit the yard every day we were there- they took over the yard for a few hours and were fascinating to watch. We walked down the river to Coffee on the Rocks a few times and rested by the river after long days in the park. The stars were so bright and numerous in the dark sky- making for a perfect ending to the day. We will definitely stay here again.

Better than the pictures

When we arrived we saw 15 Elk in the back yard wasn't ready for that, when we went inside we found the house to be better than advertised such a wonderful home, my 5 yr old grandson said he didn't want to go home he liked it so much. I'm sure we'll be back if he has anything to do with it.

Fantastic! Best place for Estes Park!

Location was perfect. Close to national park, and only a few minutes to downtown Estes Park. Home was comfortable and plenty of spaces to spread out. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. This place was the cleanest vrbo rental I have ever stayed in! Spotless! The backyard was spectacular. I had my morning coffee out by the water and we had a nice fire (gas fire pit) one evening. Everything was available. The pictures (as another review said) did not do it justice. This place was beautiful. We got to see several elk the evening we were out by the water. What a treat! If you go to Estes park, this place would be your best choice.

Magic on the Big Thompson River

We honestly feel like we cannot say enough good things about this property, but we will try. This house and yard are spotless. Jim and Gail have anticipated all our needs with this rental! We were lucky to stay in this 13 years ago, and once again were not disappointed! Over the years, the owners have remodeled and updated in the house and outside. You can witness the pride they obviously have for their home. We feel lucky that Gail and Jim share their home with us and the public. Anyone who stays here will feel the magic of this property with the comfort of the beds, 2 living areas, a fully equipped kitchen, large windows and sliding doors that show off nature and the beautiful wildlife, the expansive yard, 2 patios, an upstairs deck, and a large, well furnished riverfront area. In addition, the entire family was mesmerized by the frequent visits from Elk. One day, 15 appeared together! Wow! The small and big kids alike loved playing soccer and games in the large grassy yard. When you are at this property, you will feel like you are far away from all concerns in life! We love the close proximity to the Rocky Mountains and lots of restaurants, while feeling we are away from the busy downtown area. Gail and Jim messaged to us a few times to make sure things were going well during our visit. Appreciated! We would book this property again without hesitation!

Wonderful Stay!

Gail & Jim 's place is nothing short of outstanding! The pictures do not do it justice. The house is situated perfectly to RMNP and makes it easy for timed entry process. The house is extremely nice, great layout for families and very comfortable furnishings. We especially liked the sun room that overlooks the spacious backyard and Big Thompson River. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the jetted tub and large shower. The large kitchen and dining area is also great and very well stocked. Gail & Jim were very responsive and provided a lot of detailed information about the house and the local area. Our week couldn't have been much better. One of the many highlights was having a herd of 16 cow elk and calves come into the yard followed by a massive 7x7 bull elk (8x8 if you count his sticker points). He put on quite a show bugling and herding the cows and they stayed all day! We have made many trips out west but have never had an experience like that, it was truly awesome! The Big Thompson River in the backyard is awesome as well, sitting and listening to the flowing water is relaxing and the fishing is great also, I caught 1 brookie and three rainbows one evening. We all had a great time at Gail & Jim's and hope to return again soon! Matt & Donna

Jim and Gail Shroyer live in Manhattan, Kansas. They are the proud parents of four grown sons and two adorable granddaughters. Both are emeritus faculty at Kansas State University. Jim was an extension wheat specialist and Gail was a science educator. Jim is a native Oklahoman and Gail is a native Californian, but both consider Estes Park 'home away from home'. They have been bringing their children to camp in Rocky Mountain National Park for over twenty years.
