Great location and views

This was our first trip to Hawaii. We were traveling with our 12 year old son for a family vacation. This property was perfect for us. The location of this condo provided walking access to the beach, shopping and plenty of restaurants. The 19th floor gave a perfect view of the ocean. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. We would stay at this condo again.

Very Nice Place

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First the good....Great location right across from Waikiki Beach. Condo easily fits four adults with two full baths and two bedrooms.Management company makes it very easy to book and access the condo.Having said that there were a couple of maintenance items that needed to be addressed. It may seem like nitpicking but when you are paying over $600 a nite(after taxes and fees) everything should be perfect. We noted the following: the carpeting both outside and inside the condo was dated and needed to be replaced. The couch and chairs were also old and needed updating. There was a light out in the kitchen and the second bath and toilet both did not drain properly. The inside paint color was a very drab neutral color and could use an update to a better color.All in all we were very happy in this condo and its location and proximity to the beach make it a very good rental.

Nice furnishings and location

We had a super time here! The unit itself is in a great location on Waikiki, with the beach across the street and countless restaurants and shops within walking distance. There is valet parking. When you go to your unit you walk through a lobby. There is a nice pool and hot tub. Towels are provided by the building for the pools as well as for the beach. Inside the unit, great furnishings, everything comfortable. Incredible views. The only thing I would suggest an improvement on was the checkin process. We were told that we had to call the property manager as soon as our plane landed. We did, and he told us to call him as soon as we got to the unit. We did, and he told us to go on up, he texted me the door code, and gave me checkout instructions by phone. All very polite and helpful, but it seemed needlessly complicated - almost all other rentals simply give you the door code and that's it. It added stress to have all these warnings to call him or face a long checkin delay, for no discernible reason. One thing people should understand is that Waikiki Beach has a crowded, touristy feel, kind of like the Vegas Strip on a beach. If you want historical sites, fine dining, shopping (from cheap souvenirs to Prada & Gucci) and lots of activities, it's great - e.g. most Pearl Harbor tours will pick you up from Waikiki hotels! If you want a quiet, secluded beach vacation without a skyscraper in sight, this is not the place! We stayed here for a couple days (after staying on another island) because we wanted to visit Pearl Harbor and other historical sites. Anyways, overall it was a great unit and I'd heartily recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in Honolulu.

Giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars.The unit has amazing views of the beach and ocean. It’s in a great location with a good place for breakfast (Eggs n Things) and a McDonald’s right downstairs. The bellman and the staff were courteous and the property manager was on the ball. There are a lot of nice extra touches like beautiful doors and modernized kitchen. (The building itself is like most of them on Waikiki Beach — on the older side). Having a washer and dryer was also a huge plus. The air conditioners are not new, and they were noisy, especially when on max. Oahu was hot in late July and early August, so we adjusted by setting them on high during the day and low during the night. This was useful for masking the traffic noise (since it’s right off the main drag), and helping us sleep better.I am deducting half a star because there was a moist, wet-dog like smell in the unit. Over time it went away in most of the areas (presumably from running the a/c). But in the 2nd bedroom that never disappeared. Thankfully the person in our group who was sleeping in the bedroom was able to eventually adjust and ignore it.
