In reality, all you needed were to bring your clothes. Stocked pantry,health & beauty aids, a resident outdoor cat that is extremely friendly, beach toys,chairs,pretty much everything!Will definitely stay again!

We loved how well stocked the house was and enjoyed the beautiful gardens. We were fortunate to experience a Kilauea eruption and see much of the beautiful island with a convenient location to many great sights.

It really is in a rain forest. We had a great visit. The place is well suited for guests . It is stocked well for all your needs: cooking, snorkeling, relaxing. There is plenty to do and we recommend the quaint stores and markets for local faire. Its surprisingly comfortable for no a/c. The property has coconut, mamme apple, avocado, among others.

We were here 3 years ago and it was just as magical as before. The sounds of the frogs are always hard to get used to the first night but when you leave you miss them greatly. We were hoping we would see Mango again. She popped over everytime she smelled the grill last time and we thought she was the neighbors cat. She was there to greet us as we drove in, much to our delight. She knows not to go in the house and likes to follow us around in the garden. The outdoor shower was incredible, especially in the rain! We will be back again one day! Maybe you can plant a shampoo plant?! It’s our favorite! Our kids LOVED picking the fruit. Thank you for another magical stay!

Very nice property. Host was very friendly and helpful with local knowledge of food and activities in the area. They also have a binder with a lot of information on things to do. There is a friendly cat that lives on the property and will sit with you if you like. The house was easy to find, just follow the hosts instructions. Be sure to check out the fruit trees in the backyard.

The place is about 20 min away from downtown Hilo. It is in a very tranquil village and yrs a perfect rainforest escape. Mango is so cute. We saw all kinds of plants and animals (birds, chickens and pigs). The house has everything needed,very comfortable. On Sunday we visited the nearby local farmers market which is great! We’d love to book it again. Thank you Matt!

Older home but well kept on the inside. It was a good space for our family. Conveniently near where we needed to be. Host was very responsive. The deck off of the bedroom was cute but some string lights would make it more accessible at night. We loved the outdoor shower but it could also use some string lights when it gets dark. There was no AC but with windows opened and fans on, the house cools down a lot.

The kitchen was amazing. It was very well stocked. Everything was fantastic. I’m 76 years old and this was the BEST vacation I’ve ever had. Looking forward to booking for next year.

The property was amazing. The house was very clean and well stocked. The location was perfect. Sadly we had to cut our stay short but the host was very quick to respond and very easy to work with.

Such a wonderful place that was more than accommodating! Beautiful fresh fruit trees on the property too! My wife and I took our 2 younger boys and stayed here for 4 days. It was amazing! The house and the host were very accommodating and they even added some personal touches to your stay! We'll definitely be back soon!

Matt provides an excellent stay! There was absolutely nothing that was lacking. Everything has been so well thought out. Mango was one of the best hostess that greeted us everyday. We will definitely be back to the Rainforest Cottage!

Amazing spot in the rainforest!!!

Great spot to stay and get away from it all. Loved the location and the cozy spot of this cute vacation home. Pick this place, you won't regret it!

Wonderful Stay!

Lovely, quiet, and clean! Kitchen had extra cooking supplies and bathrooms had some extra sunscreen, etc. We had a great time here and would definitely stay again!

Wonderful Stay!

Perfect location in a beautiful neighborhood. This place has everything and more you would look for. We loved the grounds, comfy beds, and attention to detail. We will be coming back to the Rainforest Retreat!
