MADDALENA HOUSE VARENNA HISTORIC CENTER 2-4 PEOPLE IN Varenna San Giorgio Church Square. Jag är ägare till denna lägenhet med 1 sovrum. Maddalena-huset har 1 sovrum med tv-säng, vardagsrum med tv-säng, fullt utrustat kök och balkong separerad från det stora vardagsrummet med tv-sat (+ bäddsoffa för två personer), sovrum, badrum med modern dusch, wifi. priserna beror på säsong och antal kunder. Jag bor i samma maddalena hus sedan jag föddes i en annan lägenhet. Denna centrala lägenhet ligger i Varenna S. Giorgio Church Square 30 meter bara från sjön. Varenna är en härlig pittoresk medeltida bykvist på en odling i centrum av Comosjön exakt framför Bellagio och Menaggio omgiven av de italienska Alperna. CASA MADDALENA ligger i hjärtat av Varenna centrum, 150 -200 meter bara från färjan dockan och 350 meter från järnvägsstationen: från 7 till 30 meter finns det affärer, kaféer och restauranger, stranden och gångvägen som leder in några minuter till färjan docka där man kan ta båtar för att besöka de andra byarna runt sjön. wifi, kunder behöver verkligen inte hyra en bil på grund av utmärkta kollektivtrafik. Villa Monastero och Cipressi trädgårdar erbjuder ett oförglömligt minne av år. vistas.

Beautiful apartment

My fiance and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The apartment itself was beautiful and exactly like the photos. Communication with the host was difficult due to language barrier, I sometimes felt she was mad at me? But, She was able to provide us a map and show us how to use various things in the apartment. Lovely apartment, convenient location, and it was great to be able to do laundry. However, it was very noisy at night and we had to leave the windows open because there was no A; We barely slept but it was a comfortable bed just loud outside.

Must stay location

Not only is the location amazing and right in the center, but the host is perfect. She picked us up from the train and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was good. The best part is the view from the bedroom window. I would stay here every time I visit Varenna.

Marelina has a very comfortable apartment centrally located. She goes out of her way to make sure you enjoy your stay and have everything one needs. We loved our stay.

"We enjoyed relaxing at this apartment in the square.As we didn't have a car it was excellent having trains and ferries transportations quite close,so we could save a lot of money.Marilena is a perfect host and we would higly recommend renting from her,we wouldn't have received the privacy and home-like quality from one hotel."

Great Stay in Varenna

We stayed at Marilena’s apartment for a week in early October this year. We arrived by train to Varenna and were met by Marilena at the train. She took us shopping and explained Varenna and its nearby environs to us. This was very helpful. The accommodation is quite spacious with a good-sized kitchen which looks wonderfully out to a balcony and the buildings in the street. this gives a unique experience , The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and we cooled several evening meals and enjoyed them looking out from the kitchen. There is a large jiving room which we didn’t use much, the bedroom is a good size This bathroom is functional and good. The apartment has very good ventilation Overall we would not have stayed anywhere else in Varenna. It was a great experience and a very authentic stay in Varenna.

Perfecto Varenna

We stayed for 6 nights. Maralina made us very welcome, gave us a short tour of Varenna and provided suggestions about where to eat and where to buy. The apartment was compact and well supplied. Although it had no lake view it was well located and central. It was clean and well presented and had an authentic Varenna feel..It was comfortable but the bed was a bit on the hard side. Thanks Marilena for a wonderful stay., We highly recommend both the apartment and the town.

Property in good location. After all day on your feet you come and relax.

You won't want to leave!

Maddalena house is ideally situated in the village of Varenna. Our host, Marilena was exceptionally accommodating. she greeted us at the train station and brought us back when we left. Marilena was most welcoming and made sure we were acquainted with our surroundings. She gave excellent recommendations on dining and shopping. Our apartment was clean and comfortable, we were for want of nothing! My advice would be to pack light as there is a washing machine and a convenient clothesline right in the apartment. Varenna and Lake Como are beautiful; a vacation of a lifetime! The only negative is you won't want to leave.

Great location - everything we needed was supplied

Staying at Casa Madelenna was a great first stop on our 3-week trip in Italy and Switzerland. The apartment is wonderfully comfortable and in a great location both in Varenna itself and on Lake Como. A quick boat ride took us to any of th other towns onthe lake. We couldn't have done any better. We really appreciated the thoughtfulness in supplying anything we could need to live in Varenna for a few days - basic cooking supplies, laundry soap, information about the area. If we needed anything Marilena was quick to respond as a warm knowledgable host. (She even picked us up and dropped us off at the train station!). One tip - for food shopping beyond the essentials, take a quick trip to Mennagio. There are only two very small shops in Varenna. We highly recommend to anyone looking to stay on Lake Como to stay here! Judy&John, USA

Perfect! Authentic! Wonderful Hostess!

A wonderful experience. Our accomodations were everything we expected and more. The apartment was perfectly stocked, exceptionally clean, and in a location that was unbeatable. Our hostess was in instant contact, met us at the train station on arrival, and gave us tips that only a caring, local could give....from where to buy fresh fish, where to (and not to!) eat, and so much more. She even unexpectedly delivered fresh herbs to our door to cook our fish per her local recipe! We had to argue with her not to drive us to the train station at 5 am for our departure when we knew we could walk safely and easily! My husband and I spent many hours just watching local life from the big, open windows of the apartment onto the town square below. If it wasn't such a big, beautiful world, we would be back to this apartment as soon as possible! A wonderful life memory!

The place to stay on Como

Varenna was great, a small pretty old fishing village with some great restaurants and easy access with train and ferrys. A great base to see the region. Marilena‘s home was a great place to experience Varenna and Como. Located on the main square you can see everything going on, several restaurants within a minutes walk and just a few minutes walk to the ferry. The apartment has everything you need, full kitchen with all crockery, utensils, pots and pans with a small balcony that we enjoyed aperitifs on and ate on a few times (the great restaurants meant we only cooked twice in the week we were there. Marilena Was very friendly and helpful, transporting us from and to the train station and offering to drive us to the supermarket. She lives close by so is great for help and advice. We’d definitely stay her again.

Perfect staying

Il soggiorno è stato veramente piacevole. La casa è tenuta bene, estremamente pulita e nel cuore della piazza principale. Non risulta rumorosa ed è completamente funzionale. Marilena è stata disponibilissima.

A perfect holiday apartment

The location, overlooking the town square, could not be better. The apartmet was clean, totally equipped, nicely decorated. Maddelena extra care for details made a big difference, from picking us up at the train station to offering excellent advice about what to see, where to dine, etc. Apartment charming and comfortable.

Perfect for us!

We really enjoyed our stay. Marlina is very organized and helpful. She picked us up from the train station. Gave us an over view of town and told us where the good restuarants were and the grocery stores. Her place is located right in town. She had everything we needed for a great stay. I recommend the pizza place next door. We loved the walk along the lake. We took the ferry around to the other towns one day. The ferries are numerous and easy to access.

Something Special in Varenna

We stayed at Casa Maddalena for 3 weeks. The apartment is ideally located with views onto Varenna's piazza San Giorgio and to the San Giorgio church, and minutes away from the lake shore, restaurants and ferry dock. The apartment was spotlessly clean, tidy, light and spacious and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. A good-sized bedroom with ensuite and plenty of storage, a large lounge room tastefully decorated in traditional Italian decor, and a fully equipped and modernised kitchen. Marliena was an exceptional host - kind, caring and could not do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed. She met us at the train station and during our stay kindly took us (twice) to a larger village nearby to do some grocery shopping. Varenna has two small food shops - a butcher and a general food/fruit and vegetable store, and a pharmacy, located on the piazza. During our stay we took several ferry trips to other villages on the lake and found Varenna was easily the pick of them. The ferries were reliable and efficient and a great way to see the lake. This was our first visit to Varenna and part of a 10 week holiday in Europe. Our stay at Casa Maddelena was certainly a highlight. We will be back. Grazie Mille Marilena.

Charming Town with a Delightful Host

My wife and I had an absolutely delightful time in the picturedsque town of Varenna, in no small part due to the wonderful apartment we were lucky enough to find, and to the apartment's extremely charming owner, Marilena. First of all, the apartment is ideally located, smack dab in the middle of town. It has everything you need, including a lovely kitchen. As nice as the living quarters are, it was the town we came to see, and Marilena couldn't have been more helpful. She picked us up at the train station when we arrived and gave us an guided tour. Her restaurant recommendations were spot on, and her general knowledge of Varenna added so much to our enjoyment of it - not to mention that Marilena was herself a delight, making us feel like family. At the end our all too brief stay, she was kind enough to give us a ride back to the station. We were very sorry to be leaving, but fully expect to return one day. When we do, we will surely again be staying at Casa Maddalena.

Wonderful property and gracious hostess

Marilena met us as the train station and gave us a quick orientation to the town, which was helpful. She showed us around the apartment and helped us learn how to care for it properly. She is a lively and fun person. The property was clean and well-organized. I loved the little balcony, we spent a great deal of time there. We loved Varenna- many great places to eat and things to see in the area. The only negative for me was how noisy it was at night, which of course is not Marilena's fault. We needed to keep the windows open because it was warm and the noisy people in the bar in the piazza kept me awake until 1 am. Of course this is not a factor if you're a late night person and it's a plus if you like a little night life!

Very nice apartment in a great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this place. The owner lives in the apartment and was a gracious hostess. She picked us up at the train station and at the end dropped us off. The apartment is quiant and has spacious in the main center of town. There are several good restaurants in the square and we tried some of them. You can buy all daily needs just down the street. Overall we were very pleased with our stay there. We would definetly recommend it.

Great Apartment

We have stayed at Maddalena House twice now, so we obviously love it there. Marilena is a fabulous hostess, and the apartment has absolutely everything you could possibly need. Is is situated on the lovely San Giorgio Square, where you can literally hang out the window to watch the passersby. Great dining right nextdoor, just steps away. 3 beautiful churches on the little square, one of which dates back to the 11th Century! Varenna is a beautiful little village, and Maddalena House the perfect apartment where you will feel like a local!

Three wonderful days in Varenna, Casa Maddalena

The Casa Maddalena was a wonderful place for my 3 nights stay in Varenna. Perfect location right on the central piazza San Giorgio, with beautiful views and close to everything. Extremely clean, cozy and fully equipped. Marilena was a great host: caring, helpful, responsive, attentive to even small details and also very warm and hospitable. I would definitely rent this apartment again and/or recommend it to my friends.

Perfect in every way !

We enjoyed staying in Marilena’s apartment so much a couple of years ago that we came back ! Once again, we had a lovely time in this beautiful village on the lake and the apartment was like a home from home for us. Warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean and in a brilliant location in Varenna overlooking the market square which, on this particular weekend, was hosting a plant and flower market so full of life and colour. You are only a short walk from the lake shore and a good choice of cafes and restaurants. Marilena is a very special host who does everything she can to make sure you enjoy your stay, however long. Nothing is too much trouble for her and it was so lovely to see her again. I cannot recommend Casa Maddelena highly enough and we will certainly be regular visitors. Thank you Marilena and we will see you again soon !
