Rustik bergstuga ligger på en klippsida ovanför floden Shenandoah

Denna rustika autentiska timmerstuga möjliggör den lugna lugnet i bergen eller en hemmabas för en mängd olika aktiviteter både lokalt och i närheten. Ett rymligt familjerum med dubbelsäng, utdragbar bäddsoffa och TV med DVD-spelare, två sovrum med vardera en säng, och ett fullt badrum gör denna stuga till en perfekt tillflyktsort för upp till sex gäster. Det finns ett fullt utrustat kök med mikrovågsugn, kaffebryggare, brödrost och diskmaskin. Kabinen har både centralvärme och luftkonditionering för uthyrning av flera säsonger. En utomhussten spis med picknickbord ligger nära uppfarten bak i kabinen. Tillträde till floden görs genom en lång gradvis promenad längs åsen ner till flodkanten. Det finns ingen brygga för bad och fiske kan vara lite utmanande på grund av träd och pensel på stranden.

It was ideal! Rustic and charming. This is the second time we rented this cabin. We love the experience. It was serene and peaceful! The Host, Steve McLarin is available if and when needed. Gives accurate information and is friendly. Overall, we were so pleased we don’t even look for anywhere else to experience solitude. We found it here and love it. Thank you.

Directions for location were very helpful. Nice location near Front Royal, good view and mostly quiet. Had a few noisy trains run by at night, was the only real disturbance. Cabin was well furnished and comfortable. Fire pit was very nicely set up.Only downside was cleanliness, old mousetraps left out with droppings nearby underneath TV and dining table near the wall.Overall was very nice and we enjoyed our stay. Thank you

Overall the cabin is clean and comfortable. It was as described. A few small items would have made the stay excellent vs. good. The outdoor water spigot was inoperable which made it difficult to wash out coolers and gear after a day of fishing. Not to nitpick but there was only one roll of paper towels provided which ran out quickly due to required use to clean up gear due to no outside water. There were only two trash bags provided. No soap or shampoo in the shower. A small investment in these items would go a long way imho. Overall, we were satisfied with the stay. I will not post this online. It is honest feedback for the owners use.

We got exactly what we were looking for....a rustic cabin in the woods. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed. The firewood was supplied and that was a real bonus. The beds were very comfortable and linens were provided. We would consider returning.

Convenient to Front Royal and Skyline

Property well kept. Very private. You can walk down to the river. The front porch has a wooden glider, that you never want to get out of. Kitchen has all the necessities to cook a good meal. Very convenient to Front Royal, Skyline Drive and Luray Caverns.

Riverview cabin

We had an amazing time at this cabin along the Shenandoah River. It was a very private secluded area. We enjoyed the wildlife and sounds of the birds as we drank our morning coffee/tea. The driveway entrance was a little tricky getting in and out of and we were thankful that we did not encounter anyone else on the private lane from the 2 other cabins there. Cabin was stocked with essentials. I would say that it was a bit dusty here and there but that is life in the woods. You could see glimpses of the river from the porch. Also, there is some road noise but minimal. There is also a train that goes by the cabin from time to time and it can be very loud, but we had no issues with it at night. Overall, great location. We will be back for sure.

The cabin is as depicted in the listing. Atmosphere and views were great. Charcoal and firewood was provided. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook all meals during our stay, but some of the cooking utensils could be replaced.Plenty of linens and towels. Could have used an additional roll of toilet paper.

Great place!

Had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend at the Riverview cabin. Fantastic location - access to the river itself is easy. The cabin itself is rustic but has everything you need. We loved it. The quiet was much needed. Glenn Manor is a great vineyard and a quick trip. We hope to come back again.

Woodsy, quiet, cozy, near-perfect cabin

This place had everything you could hope for in a woodland cabin--quiet, firewood provided for both the firepit and fireplace (they even provided skewers for marshmallows!), and surprisingly comfortable bed. It was a little weird that it had a Keurig but no K-cups, but all in all this is a comfortable, secluded, and--if you like a rustic environment, which we do--a very romantic cabin. Be sure to check out Honey & Hops Meadery in Front Royal, as well as Skyline Caverns nearby.

Perfect nature getaway, quick drive from the city

This was our second time staying in one of John’s cabins. The cabin is close enough from the city, an easy drive, but well surrounded by nature! We really enjoyed the walks down to the river, as did our teen and dog. Nice river views from the bedroom and porch. Only a 10 min drive to civilization (groceries, restaurants, etc). We enjoyed watching movies (our own and via streaming apps) and sitting by the cozy fireplace. Cabin is well insulated. John was very responsive when we had a question. We would come back a third time!

Quaint, Comfortable, Relaxing...

Great weekend getaway... Cozy spot to relax in front of the fireplace on a cold night or view the incredible number of stars against the dark backdrop. Very comfortable. The cabin itself is clean and well maintained, as are the surrounding grounds. All appliances appear to be new and in good working order. Great little getaway and hope to be back.

Roomy Riverview Cabin

Enjoyed our visit. Location was great, secluded and private. Great for our 2 small chihuahuas. Did miss the beautiful view of the mountains that we had while staying at the other two cabins.

Location, location, Location- Our cabin is the perfect home base for all your outdoor activities and adventures in the Shenandoah Valley. Our log cabin is secluded and built on a 100 foot cliff above the Shenandoah River with 35 acres of privacy. The Shenandoah River State Park and the Skyline Drive northern entrance are both only a ten minutes drive. The newly built Canopy Tours zip line was just open in the summer of 2014 which takes over 3 hour to complete. If you’re more interested in water activities; swimming, fishing or boating is all just a walk or 10 minute ride. There are over 30 wineries within 30 minutes of our cabin with new ones opening every year. We hope you will choose our home base for a memorable getaway.
