Bright Water Cottage ligger i den lilla kuststaden Rockfield (nära den större byn Portmahomack) precis vid stranden av Moray Firth själv, bokstavligen inom beröring av havet! En stor solig veranda möjliggör bekväm matplats för upp till 6 personer med oavbruten havsutsikt. Det finns privat parkering direkt utanför stugan för upp till 4 bilar. En liten privat strand vid havet ger oavbruten utsikt över Moray Firth, med en 8-platss picknickbord för friluftsmatsal och en extra 3-sits trädgårdsbänk. Centralt uppvärmd och dubbelglasad hela med en liten vedeldad kamin i främre rummet, ger stugan en mysig tillflyktsort. Det moderna köket är utrustat med en 8-håls gasspis, dubbla ugn, stor upprätt kyl-frys, mikrovågsugn, diskmaskin, tvättmaskin och LCD-TV. Det finns också en liten frukostbar med extra sittplats för 3 personer. Det finns ett sovrum med dubbelsäng med queen size-säng nere, utrustad med en dubbel inbyggd garderob och användbart luftskåp. Det finns en angränsande nere toalett. På övervåningen finns två dubbelrum, ett med en queen size-säng och det andra med två stora sängar. Båda sovrummen på övervåningen har havsutsikt, liksom familjen badrummet som har ett stort badrum, dusch, toalett och stor handdukstork. Alla rum har LCD-TV. Golv är massivt trä, bortsett från kök och veranda som är kaklade och därför lämpliga för hundar. Det finns gratis Wi-Fi i hela stugan. Till baksidan finns en solig trädgård med träskal och stor terrass, idealisk för grillar och generell avkoppling. Beroende på årstid, finns fågel och vilda djur. Delfinerna ses regelbundet året runt patrullering upp och ner Moray Firth och ibland, om du är örnögd, en otter eller två!

Super cottage in a very lovely part of the world!!

Well equipped, comfortable cottage. Lots to do in the local area. Richard and his family were very welcoming. Highly recommend a stay. We even saw dolphins from the dining room table.

Tolles Haus in wunderschöner Umgebung

Wir haben unseren Urlaub im Bright Water Cottage sehr genossen! Das Haus ist genau wie auf den Bildern und in der Beschreibung angegeben und sehr sauber. Auch die Kinder haben sich wohl gefühlt und den Ausblick und das Delfine anschauen vorm Haus sehr genossen. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten und die tolle Natur der Highlands sind direkt in der Nähe. Die Vermieter Richard und Suzanne sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Insgesamt war es ein rundum gelungener Urlaub.

We all really enjoyed our stay in Rockfield, the house is immaculate with amazing views over the sea. Richard was a top host, very friendly and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend a visit if you want to relax and take it easy.

Lovely quiet location out the way but not far to beach bar or restaurants

Great will be going back next year, very nice house and kitchen has everything you'd need. Beds have lovely mattresses with quality cotton bedding. Furniture very comfortable and tasteful deccor

Cottage in wunderschöner Lage

eWir haben unseren Aufenthalt in Rockfield sehr genossen. Das Cottage ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Eine so gut ausgestattete Küche haben wir noch in keinem Ferienhaus vorgefunden. Es ist einfach alles da. Der Blick aus dem Wintergarten aufs Meer ist grandios. Die Vermieter Richard und Suzanne sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Es war eine sehr schöne Woche.

Wunderbarer Urlaub in Schottland mit sympathischem Vermieter

Das Ferienhaus war zauberhaft und sehr gut ausgestattet - ein wirkliches Zuhause für uns. Die direkte Lage am Meer erlaubte schöne Spaziergänge inkl. Beobachtung von Robben und Seevögeln. Unser Vermieter, Richard und Susan, waren sehr sympathisch, hilfsbereit und als direkte Nachbarn immer zur Stelle, wenn wir Fragen hatten. Tain ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Roadtrips in die Highlands, an die West- und Nordküste. Ein rundherum gelungener Aufenthalt und ein guter Grund wiederzukommen!

We wanted a base to explore the Highlands and travel the NC500, to come back to this property every evening to relax and enjoy the view, and then wake up to it was perfect for us. Richard was helpful before we arrived and gave us a warm welcome on arrival along with his family. They were on hand if we had any questions or needed anything but were not intrusive of our space. It was lovely to have some treats in the kitchen on arrival, and the kitchen is probably the best-stocked of any property we've stayed in! The living room had books, games, puzzles, and DVDs to keep entertained if you could tear yourself away from the beautiful view of the water, the different birds and the odd dolphin or two. The beds were comfortable with a firm mattress and good linen, and ample towels with good pressure in the shower. The floor boards were a bit creaky but didn't impact our getting a good night's rest. The property was clean and tidy but could do with a deep clean e.g. silicone in the shower, skirting boards, washing machine, and radiators. Wifi isn't the fastest but good for browsing when we needed to plan the following day's route and stream shows on the TV in the living room. It was hard to leave, it's clear thought has been put into the property to make it a comfortable stay for guests. We could easily have stayed longer and hopefully one day we will be able to return :) many thanks for a perfect stay!

Perfect

Absolutely stellar accommodation directly on the Moray Firth with fabulous views of the tides and coastal rocks. Cottage is tastefully and completely appointed, 8 burner gas stove and two ovens, and everything you would ever need in a kitchen. Wood burning stove in living room and 1 1/2 baths that look brand new. One bedroom downstairs and two upstairs with exceptional views. Hosts charming and helpful. I wanted to stay forever.

Tranquil retreat at quaint seaside location

Property was gorgeous, well-proportioned and spacious. Offers decent size for a large family. Kitchen equipped to high standard - it was a delight cooking in there! Owners were helpful and welcoming.

Comfort by the Sea

We spent a few days hiking up in the Tain area. So it was absolutely wonderful to come ‘home’ to this delightfully comfortable cottage. Dickie and Suzanne have set this house well...it has everything you’d need including tea, coffee, biscuits and milk!!! Looking for a tranquil break then this is the place to be in!

Amazing location

Extremely comfortable cottage, with great set up both inside and out. Lovely small garden overlooking sea with spectacular views across moray firth. Owners very hospitable and great source of local knowledge. Would love to stay again.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location

Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in this excellent immaculate and spacious cottage. The view was amazing and the cottage was extremely well-equipped and comfortable. The owners were friendly and helpful and only next door if anything was needed. Even fussy husband couldn't fault it!! Will definitely go back.

Perfect!

Just returned from a glorious time in this super cottage. It's is beautifully modernised but still retains character. The kitchen was better equipped than home! We loved sitting at the table looking out over the firth. The dolphins made an appearance most days. Richard, Suzanne and Lawrence made us most welcome - they live next door. I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough and would love to return one day.

Beautiful home on ocean!!

This cottage is in a beautiful location and made to be easy to utilize and feel comfortable in. It is a very cozy home away from home with a very friendly and accommodating owner. The views are amazing, and on a clear night you can see the northern lights. It has quite a few things in the immediate area to explore and enjoy. Overall it was one of my favorite places to stay out of the dozen I have stayed in. I would definitely recommend it!!

Great stay!

Lovely cottage. Clean and well equipped. Owners are very welcoming and helpful too. Great location for dog walks along the coastline. Close to Glenmorangie Distillery and Dornoch’s beautiful beach.

Immaculately presented house with breathtaking views

Ideal base for travel in and around the area. House has everything you could need (and more). A very warm welcome from owners on arrival. Views from dining room are spectacular. Rooms are spacious, bright and airy. We had a fantastic holiday and would highly recommend booking this property.

Perfect location perfect house

The house is in a prime location right on the waters edge, Rockfield is a good base for touring out to other places to visit. The house itself is fantastic, clean, tidy and very well equipped. The owners live next door and are friendly and on hand of you need anything.

Retreat by the Sea

We had the most amazing stay here, and we will be back. A cottage by the sea which has every amenity.You get a beautiful kitchen with quality items to create your own culinary masterpiece, a wood fireplace in the front room to enjoy, and a fantastic view of the North Sea while dining. The sea view is unforgettable! Wifi is great. Drinking water is very pure and water pressure is perfect. This is a remote setting, but still only minutes away from shopping in Tain (Made in Tain is a perfect place to buy gifts). Check out the local history in Portmahomack's Tarbat Discovery Centre and the Tain museum... or drive north and see Dunrobin castle, Wick and John O'Groats.This is a nice location to use as a base to see the Highlands. Richard and family are absolutely great. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted and given a tour of the cottage. We really appreciate the conversations and their genuine kindness.

Heaven by the sea.

Very warn welcome from the owners, after enough time to unpack, perfect timing. Cottage wants for nothing, kitchen exceptionally well equipped, except for a teapot :) Quality bed linen and towels. Peaceful location with a superb outlook. Much appreciated welcome pack. Certainly recommend the cottage. Hope to return, someday.

Well equipped, comfortable, clean and cozy.

Really enjoyed our stay. Weather was excellent, saw the dolphins, and many other weird and wonderful things. Tasted the local ice cream, amazing. The owners were very welcoming, and there if needed. Ample walking to keep the dog happy. Had a really peaceful and relaxing week.

Delightful accommodation with all you could need.

Great accommodation - clean fresh and bright! Our hosts gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel very much at home. For us who live inland and love the coast it was a delight to overlook the sea - and with the chance to spot dolphins. Very well appointed, including a first class kitchen. Great to be able to park right at the door.
