Vår omsorgsfullt renoverade fiskarstuga ligger i den pittoreska byn Balintore, påsk Ross. 8 1/2 har utvidgats till att erbjuda boende lyxhus. Beläget i den historiska stadskärnan i denna Highland byn, behåller stugan sin ursprungliga charm men kommer med moderna faciliteter och erbjuder en verklig skotska höglandet hem hemifrån. Stugan ligger på en lugn sidogata och är en utmärkt plats att koppla av medan du utforska de skotska högländerna. Den charmiga byn pub och hotell är bara en kort promenad bort. Boendet är i två våningar och fastigheten har utsikt över byn till närliggande Nigg kulle. Utanför finns en stor bakre trädgård med gräsmatta, grill och sittplatser.

Everything you need is available for a first class break in a beautiful part of Scotland! Highest standard of fixture and fittings! Warm and cosy and just 5 mins from the beech which our grandchildren loved! Welcomed with fresh milk and delicious cake!

Perfect stay in beautiful surroundings

We had the great pleasure of staying in a beautifully decorated house in a lovely area. The house is equipped with everything you need - and even more. The attention to detail and the cozy atmosphere made us feel immediately welcome.A particular highlight was the delicious welcome cake that the host's daughter baked for us - a wonderful gesture that sweetened the start of our vacation.David, the host, is incredibly friendly and attentive. You can tell that the well-being of his guests is very important to him.We really enjoyed our time there, felt completely at ease and will definitely be back. Thank you very much for this unforgettable experience!

First visit of scotland

The cottage in Balintore is the perfect base for visiting the northern highlands route NC500 by car. The cottage is very large, all You need is available, hosts are so kind, and friendly, we recommend that cottage completely. It was our first visit in scotland at all, we love country and people.

Wonderful cottage

Family stay in wonderful cottage

We had a very pleasant stay with our family of 5. As we have older childeren it is very nice to have more then 1 bathroom. The house is very well equiped and by car easy trips are done to other nice places.

Lovely time

We had a fabulous time in Balintore and the surrounding area. 8 1/2 John St was a great find. The house was excellent and much bigger than photographs suggest. Very comfortable and banana loaf and milk in fridge when we arrived was much appreciated. Lots of great walks along beautiful beaches and lovely local towns within easy drive. Would definitely recommend the house and the area.

Prachtig huis met echt alle luxe, ruime badkamers en idem de slaapkamers. Een fijne woonkamer en hele fijne woonkeuken. Leuke achter tuin en prima parkeerplek voor onze 6 motoren. GENOTEN hebben we, echt TOP!!

Urlaubsgenuss von Anfang an

Wir haben schöne Tage in dem wunderbaren und liebevoll ausgestatteten Haus in Balintore verbracht. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht und noch viel mehr und Christel und David sind sehr hilfbereite Gastgeber.Wir können es wärmstens empfehlen. Es war sehr sauber und wir haben es schweren Herzens wieder verlassen.

Outstanding Base for Highlands

The description of the property was perfect. From the comfort of the beds, bathroom facilities, right through to excellent kitchen facilities and comfort of the living room. This cottage could not have offered more complete comfort. Located off the beaten track. It was easy to get to from the A-9 and offered a perfect base to travel the complete Highlands. If golf was your thing, there were many excellent courses within close proximity. We would highly recommend this Balintore cottage to anyone looking for an extended stay in Scotland.

Beautiful holiday cottage

Lovely cottage on a side street. Warm and welcoming owner who met us at the property. Everything you could possibly need in the house. House is clean, cosy and comfortable, its a home from home. Its in a small village on the coast with a beautiful sandy beach just 10 minute walk away. Very quiet village, great base for visiting other places in the area.

Tolle Unterkunft

Ein wunderschönes Ferienhaus, sehr groß und geräumig. Vor Ort gibt es einen tollen Strand, nebenan einen kleinen Einkaufsladen. Von Balintore aus kann man zahlreiche Ausflüge machen: in die Highlands, zum Lochness, an die West- und Ostküste, nach Inverness und so weiter. Im Haus befindet sich alles, was man braucht. Toll sind besonders die Bäder und Schlafzimmer sowie die große Küche. So können sich Teenager auch mal aus dem Weg gehen. Die Möbel sind hochwertig, alles ist sauber und gepflegt. Ganz in der Nähe gibt es zahlreiche Supermärkte. Als Restaurants empfehlen wir „Inver Inn“ in Inver und „Plattform 1864“ in Tain.

Tolles Cottage in schöner Lage!

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem schönen Cottage! Alles, was wir brauchten, war da. Der Kontakt mit Christel und ihrem Mann war sehr nett! Als wir nicht wussten, wie man abschließt (wir haben in Deutschland andere Systeme), hat Dave und sehr schnell geholfen! Wir können den Urlaub in Balintore nur empfehlen! Vielen Dank!

Wunderschönes Haus mit sehr netten Vermietern

Wir hatten in diesem sehr schönen und gut eingerichteten Haus eine tolle Zeit. Vor allem der liebe Empfang von Christel ,sogar mit Begrüßungskuchen ( der wirklich sehr lecker war) fanden wir super. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und konnten von dem Ferienhaus aus sehr viel von den Highlands und der Küstenregion sehen. Wir nehmen die vielen schönen Eindrücke mit nach Hause und würden es jedem weiter empfehlen.

Home Away From Home

The Cottage is in a quaint coastal fishing village. I can understand why guests would stay for multiple weeks. Everything that you need is here. Perfect location to visit various areas of the Highlands within a hour or so. The Balintore Inn was delicious, be sure to book in. The local pub was cozy, with a pool table. You can enjoy a short walk to the beach or enjoy the patio at the cottage. Christel is a top notch host and we highly recommend staying with her.

In einem tollen Haus mit tollen Gastgebern

Das Ferienhaus ist sehr kompfortabel und zweckmaßig eingerichtet und ausgestattet. Die lage ist optimal Von den Gastgebern wurden wir mit selbstgebackenem Kuchen begrüßt und auch im weiteren Verlauf gut betreut. Wir würden dieses Ferienhaus immer wieder buchen.

Golfing in the Highlands

What a great stay in Balintore! The property was of ample size with very spacious rooms. Facilities were great throughout! A very quiet village with a pub up the road which serves lovely food. Would definitely recommend to anyone who chooses to visit the highlands - would stay again!

Home away from home

Christal and David are outstanding hosts. We rented for two months, an adventure for all of us. We love the small quiet village of Balintore and the town of Tain. Tain has all the necessaries, grocery, restaurants, bus service. The house was lovely and comfortable, beyond our expectations. We would come again if possible.

This cottage was wonderful. It is in a lovely little village with many places to visit nearby. The cottage was very clean and had everything you could ask for. It was warm and comfortable. The hostess was very welcoming and left us lots of extras( wine chocolates and home baking). I recommend this cottage and would be very happy to stay there again. Thank you Christel

8 1/2 John Street is run by Christel Johnstone. Her husband, David, works away and renovated 8 1/2 over two years. David was born in the village of Balintore and met Christel when she owned one of the local hotels. They married several years ago and still live in the village.

Balintore is one of the Seaboard villages situated on the east coast of Ross-shire, in the Scottish Highlands.
Over looking the Moray Firth, Balintore was a traditional fishing village. The centrally located harbour is just a minutes walk from the house.

The peaceful village location offers essential amenities and is an ideal base for exploring the Highlands.
Although Easter Ross is a remote rural area the city of Inverness is only 40 minutes by car.
We have lived in Balintore for many years and love the area.

The cottage is situated in the centre of the village but is also minutes from the beach, harbour and open countryside.

The newly renovated and extended cottage offers the character of a traditional cottage with the convenience and luxury of contemporary fittings and design. There is full central heating, a modern kitchen and bathrooms.

After spending a day at the beach or on long country walks, take an evening stroll to the local pub for your nightcap and a chat before settling down in front of the log burning stove for a snooze.
