El Capuchin was a perfect stay! We enjoyed the patio, ocean views, and the pool. It is walkable to many great restaurants. The beds were very comfortable. Clear instructions from the host. Highly recommend!

This is an amazing oasis in the hills on route to Manuel Antonio National Park. We loved the villa and the incredible views of the ocean and small offshore islands. The pool was amazing and very refreshing after a long day of exploring. The master bedroom is very romantic and the huge balcony provides a great spot for dinners, reading books or relaxing to the sounds of birds and monkeys. The kitchen is also very well stocked. We would stay here again!

Amazing villa with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean

We enjoyed the classic charm and spacious veranda with only the music of the jungle around us. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance as well as a supermarket.

I couldnt have been more happy with this property. It is well maintained, the view is breathtaking, and the Master Bedroom is spacious. This place is top notch and very clean. I must also mention that the housekeeper does an amazing job from turndown service to all the little details. The concierge Vanessa is an amaxing resource to have as well. This place is the best!!!! I wish I could give it 6 stars!

Beautiful place. Room set up unique - kitchen/bedrooms separate - connected by outside covered porch/sitting area. No direct access to washer/dryer. A housekeeper will do your laundry for 6-10/load. Comfortable. Nice pool.

Absolute dream. Extremely walkable around MA and easy drives everywhere else. Jasmin, Kent, Vanessa and Marvin (and of course, Seth the Sloth) were amazing hosts and incredibly helpful. We loved spending all hours on the balcony, in the pool, and when we needed space, the separated bedrooms were perfect. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat if we return to MA! Pura Vida!

Overall an excellent stay at El Capuccin! The unit has a beautiful ocean view and the balcony was spacious with ample seating areas for relaxing. The overhead fans were very much appreciated!! The pool was perfect for a refreshing swim and there was enough shade to relax and read a book or have an afternoon nap!We were visited by capuccin and squirrel monkeys, 2 beautiful parrots spent early evenings in a tree just off the balcony, and howler monkeys were heard (but not seen)Restaurants and grocery shopping close by ( walking or by car) and a short drive to Manuel Antonio park.Beds were comfy, the unit was clean and well kept, staff we met were friendly and helpful.We would definitely recommend this rental!!

Nicely laid out with great views of the lake. Tons of great restaurants nearby and close to Manuel Antonio NP. We had Capuchin Monkeys visit the pool area and saw a couple Mccaws in a tree in the direction of the lake. The pool was relaxing and there's a bar with 4 stools which face the ocean. We occupied the 3rd floor, which has separate entry doors from the patio area, which made it easy to navigate and allow others to sleep if necessary, while you enjoy the outside views. The parking lot of the Yolo Resturant, across he street from the road exit, offered a far better Capuchin and Howler Monkey experience than the NP itself. The road leading to the property was well guarded at night and we felt very safe.

Casa del Amber and El Capuchin were perfect for our visit in Manuel Antonio. The location is very nice: If you want, you can walk to some shops and restaurants, and even the beach if you're willing to navigate curvy, hilly roads with no shoulders. Very convenient. Even better is the setting: You're basically in the forest. We had all 3 types of monkeys visit the "yard," and even come down to the pool, as well as toucan, iguanas, and lots of other things.The apartment was comfortable, particularly once AC kicked in (none in the kitchen), and clean -- great for a family of four. Each room is independently accessed from the veranda, which is where we ended up spending a lot of time anyway. It is an old building, but kept up very well. For us, this was part of the charm.Vanessa, the concierge for the property, was extremely communicative and helpful.Compared to some other rentals on our trip, this one was a little more expensive, but in the end, we felt worth it. Highly recommended.

The pictures of the property are exactly as advertised. The views are awesome. The locations is minutes from everywhere in Manuel Antonio. The owner went our of her may to make sure we felt like we were at home and even offered to grocery shop for us before arrival. I also rent vacation properties in FL and very picky about my vacation experiences. IT DOES NOT GET BETTER THAN THIS.

The apartment was clean and comfortable. It is a very short drive to the national park and beach ( you can walk, but you are at the top of the hill! ) We were able to see “Seth” the sloth every day in his tree. The pool was clean, but definitely needs to be re-tiled or surfaced. We were in the El Capuchin, it is three separate living spaces (kitchen, large bedroom/bathroom/living room, and bedroom/bathroom) all connected by an outdoor patio with spectacular views. The patio has a lockable door to the outside which makes this nice for families with older kids or two families vacationing together. The rooms are very spacious, the main bedroom has a massive walk-in closet! Jasmine checked in with us each morning with clean towels and garbage bags. I highly recommend Restaurante El Cerdo Feliz. It is a short drive, , the food was excellent, the service was great and it was about 30% less than the touristy restaurants on the Main Street. Lots of great options all around. We also had very pleasant neighbors in the other units. We certainly recommend Castillo de Amber.

Good Things To Say

We were so excited about this trip and the stay in the Jurate Suite. Vanessa, the building concierge, contacted us pre-arrival with lots of helpful information, and helped us with transportation planning, grocery orders/delivery, and tour bookings. All was set! and then 12 hours before our flight to Costa Rica the unthinkable happened. My husband had a stroke, was in the hospital and couldn't travel. I had to cancel the trip. The property owners/management communicated with me right away, and were amazingly kind and supportive. So, I just wanted people to know that this was such an amazing experience, even in the face of a traumatic situation, and they handled it so well. This is an atypical review, in that we didn't actually get to stay in the Jurate Suite as planned. But I am looking forward to re-booking this vacation, staying at this property, and meeting these wonderful people in person so I can thank them. Mil gracias a todos!

Good location, great views, the terrace is awesome, comfortable beds, great showers , pool, parking, soap shampoo conditioner, coffee, beach towels, dihwasher and good functional kitchen. Self Check in was super quick and simple. Perfect for our family of 5 with teenagers.The multiple keys are a bit overwhelming at first but you get used to it. Carefull the doors lock automatically if closed so keep a set on you or in the key box.

The property was in a great location, the rooms were clean, and the kitchen was stocked well. Communication from the host was very thorough and the services they offered such as arranging for a chef to come to the property, was truly a highlight! We were able to see monkeys swinging from the trees just outside the balcony as well macaws on several occasions. It is walkable to many restaurants and shops. There was a small issue with the pool that the staff corrected it IMMEDIATELY, as soon as we brought it to their attention. The pool was a good temperature and stocked with pool floaties. Something to note is that the kitchen and the two bedroom sections are all separate entrances from the balcony, which was very unique to us. Each had their own keys and leaving very young children in the furthest room could feel very isolating (you wouldn't be able to hear them if something was wrong in the room), but this would be perfect for separating groups of adults or older kids like ours. The cleaner provided a very reasonably priced laundry option with next day turnaround. Our rooms were never cleaned, after a conversation with the cleaner who asked us if we were interested, but that may have been a miscommunication/language barrier issue. Not a big deal.Overall, it was a great spot and we truly enjoyed our time at the property! Thank you!

Paradise in Paradise

The house is amazing. The view is unbelievable. Bonus having housekeeping. The Capuchin monkeys visiting us on the balcony was over the top. Be aware the rooms on the middle level are separate connected by an outdoor hall,which we enjoyed feeling more outdoors. Very kind staff and well kept property.
