Stay at Rustic Retreat

Cozy clean quiet place. Grill did not work, but kitchen was amply supplied. Very small beach area, but we enjoyed our stay and would go back.

Wonderful Family Trip

Great vacation

This place is ideal for a laidback family. Quiet location, well-stocked, and fantastic views. The natural beach is perfect for kids to build sand castles and play. We saw TONS of wildlife. There's plenty of restaurants and shopping within distance. Perfect spot for a relaxing vacation.

We had an amazing time there. If you are looking for somewhere to just kick back and relax this is the place for you. We seen dolphins just about every day we were there right out in front of the house the little private beach area was great for the kids to play around on and find hermit crabs and shells.The house is just as pictured and is very cozy and the views are amazing we will most definitely be back.

Loved it!!!

We stay at a different Vrbo every year, this one is my favorite!!! Awesome views of both sunset and sunrise. We saw dolphins and caught plenty of fish and birdwatching. It’s just what we needed after a long and stressful year.

Private Beach home

This home was great! You are right on the Ocean and even though you can’t really swim in the water there is a sandy area where kids can play in the beach and get their feet in the water. Very private and property was clean.

Ocean Vaca

The Rustic Retreat was like a mountain lodge with the waves of the gulf all around! The view of the gulf and the endless sky with the ocean wind was spectacular-with plenty of shaded area under the house. The home is decorated in a vintage eclectic style that was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, I would suggest getting very acquainted with the stovetop before attempting to cook! The host was readily available to answer all questions. We love the Gulf Coast and will be back soon!

We did have some leaks during our stay due to a bad storm. I noticed the property manager about it. Nothing of ours was damaged.

Absolute wonderful place to stay

If your looking for quant nice place to get away this is it. Perfect for our family. Best of both worlds beach house with cabin feel. As my wife said looking out over the ocean from inside feels like a cruise ship with all the glass and closeness to the water. Remember to bring your fishing poles as well. First time being there and caught redfish and trout right out in front of the house. We will be renting again.

Great private beach area

The house was exactly as expected. Easy access to the beach area. Don't plan on swimming here due to lots of debris/old piers, etc. This didn't bother us though. We were able to collect lots of shells, hermit crabs, and various other types of crabs were in abundance. We saw dolphins daily and the pelicans fly overhead frequently. Absolutely beautiful location.

The only thing was stove And oven we think was shut off from being used didn’t come on but that was ok because we are out I cook all the time anyway so made it nice !

Perfect view

Everything about the house was great! Especially if you like your privacy. Only bad part was the water. I get its the gulf of Mexico but it was especially muddy and shallow. If you have kids and want them to play in the water I would suggest to get a different location. But if you dont care definitely the place to go. It was absolutely amazing with the most breathtaking views.

What a View!!

Amazing views! The view from the deck, living room, dining are and kitchen are astounding. We saw dolphins and a variety of birds. You can walk the road and have the ocean on one side and bayou on the others. There are very few cars so its great walk. There really isn't beach walking here but itl is great. Ocean Springs has a great dog friendly beach and it is about 20 minutes away. It is easy to do a day trip to New Orleans and Mobile. There is lots to see and do in the area. The bedrooms are a bit small and the oven and stove take a bit of getting use to. Those things were minor with that view and location.

Do nothing

Rustic property that was perfect for a few days to wind down after our daughter’s wedding in New Orleans. Property situated right on the water. 180 degree views. Unfortunately screens not working on sliding glass doors to open for fresh air. And would recommend bringing own deck chairs as there is no porch furniture. No real TV options but that wasn’t on our agenda anyway. Despite these shortcomings was a very peaceful setting to relax and unwind.

A quiet retreat with an awesome view

The property is the perfect secludedgetaway for an outdoorsman type. Beautiful wood cabin look from the inside and it has an awesome view from anywhere on the property. Well accomodated and easy to get too.

Non working locks!!

All sliding patio doors had non working locks. They were all broken and we had to Jimmy them on the bottom of track in order to lock up every time. This was awful as we did not feel safe at all. Recommend fixing all locks asap.

Everything about this stay was amazing. It is such a relaxing home. If you love fishing there is some great fishing right out the door which my teens and husband loved.

Great Getaway

Loooooves this place! For a teacher is is a great getaway with my pups when school got out. Could see myself going here every year. House is perfect size, deck is amazing while views for day (exactly what I needed), very quiet area, great beach! Water isn’t “ocean clear” right on the shore but that was ok for my an my water loving dog. Saw dolphins every morning, a million pelicans, and I could watch the little crabs forever! Read a lot and just unwound from a crazy school year. *Only thing I would suggest is if you need to do work, bring a hot spot. The internet was REALLY slow for me when I needed to upload a short video for my summer school students.*
