great location

Very clean, spacious condo by the ship channel, we enjoyed watching the huge ships go by and in the morning watched the dolphins swimming from the living room window. It's close to everything in Port A, highly recommend this place!

50/50 Family Trip

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I were very excited about the condo when booked because we had a 13 year old and 9 month old to keep entertained. Thus choosing a place was contingent on finding amenities suited for them. A heated pool was extremely necessary for us and our young one and at no point was the pool usable due to how cold it was. I reached out to the booking manager and although the responded promptly nothing was resolved and they refused to offer some form of compensation. They stated that pool was 85 degrees on Friday and the morning of Saturday reset to 92 degrees. We checked multiple times and even around 5pm the pool was below 85 degrees the whole time. Aside from the pool issue the beds were extremely uncomfortable and the decor outdated. You will also find small fruit flies/ bugs around the kitchen and living room area. Had it not been for the private pier and kind people we met I would have given this condo a one star. There are many other locations with similar amenities since the pool did not work anyways that you can reserve for a fraction of the price.

Fantastic Fishing Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: From check-in to check-out, all went smoothly. Our unit was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We loved it. Our vacation was planned primarily for fishing and this property did not disappoint. The lighted fishing was fantastic and we caught fish every night. The pool, pier and grounds were kept clean at all times. Our children had a blast so we are planning a return visit next year.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is Johnny Hay , our stay at channel view was great . We have stayed there this year 5 times this year a different room each time . This room was ok but very old school as far as up dated restrooms and showers . The garage disposal didn’t work nor did the ice maker. This room definitely needs to be up dated . The fishing was awesome , and everyone was friendly we love channel view and will be back soon .

Issues with coffee pot and perhaps just not knowing how to work, but it leaked water on cabinet while using so might need to be checked and garbage disposal did not work.

Smelled like cigarette smoke

As soon as we walked in we were hit with a smoke smell. We are not smokers so our kids were complaining the entire time about the smell. The bed is really hard and the linens were extremely rough. The rest was okay. We will likely stay at these condos again, just not this unit. The property was nice and the pier was great.

Gorgeous and Captivating

Had to call the afterhour company to get new code.Trash dumpsters were far away from property and no cooking spices were provided. Most rental units we have stayed in have the basic spices provided.

It’s a great place where the condos have always been as pictured and fully stocked as stated in the description. The view is great for watching the boats coming in from the race.

Family Time

Our family enjoyed our stay. The unit was nice and had everything we needed. We all enjoyed the private pier fishing, watching the dolphins, meeting new people, and enjoying each others company. It is definitely a place we will be coming back to.

Great location.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the location. So close to the beach.perfect for morning and evening walks. Likes the security of the property. Condo was nice and roomy. Disappointed that the pool was not heated although we were assured it was. It was cold, likely under 80. The condo had updates but worn furniture arms, toilet seat, tub and numerous chipped dishes took away from the experience. Washing machine did not work and there were no hangers for clothes in the closets. Asked for more but heard nothing back. No scissors in the kitchen. no kettle to boil water or tea pot. Great views but curtains that don’t open fully block 1/3 of the view. It is a lovely spacious condo with such great potential. Easy check in and condo was clean.bedroom lamps were unplugged and plugging them in behind a heavy bed a pain. All just little things but they add up. Beds and linens were very comfortable.

Not so pleasant stay

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location, pier amd pool we loved. The unit we stayed in was dirty when we arrived. Blood stain by light switch in one of the restrooms, lots of hair on floor in living area by the windows. The master bedroom bathroom had a sewer smell whenever we showered. Maintenance was called out but couldn’t find the smell. Our toaster was broken and maintenance did bring a new one the following day. This is our second year staying at the condos and our last time wasn’t all that pleasant.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros: Beautiful view of the channel. My 80 year parents sat by the window the whole time and watched the boats and oil rigs come through.Port A Escapes was very prompt when we called because we couldn’t get into the door. There was no door plate so you have to push the door in while turning the knob at the same time in order for the lock to disengage. Condo was clean. Trash bags, sponges, dishwasher tablets were left to use. Easy access to the condo with text messages sent to your phone for check in and check out.Cons: The water in the front bathroom shower doesn’t drain so you’re standing in water the whole time you’re having a shower. You have to hold down the toaster handle the whole time or the handle pops back up. The fees added onto the bill.

Great stay in Port A

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent two months in this rental and enjoyed out stay. The view out of our window of the U of Texas Marine Science Center marina and the shipping channel are wonderful. We especially enjoyed the outdoor pool and the lighted fishing pier. The property management company is great. Any problem or issue is addressed in a very timely manner.
