Hav Urchins stuga byggdes 2016 till en utmärkt specifikation. Nedre våningen finns en veranda och stor entré med garderob / wc, vilket leder till en generös öppen planlösning vardagsrum / matsal / kök. Dubbla altandörrar leder ut mot trädgården med uteservering och havsutsikt. På övervåningen finns två sovrum. Befälhavaren har en king size-säng, en balkong med fantastisk havsutsikt och eget badrum. Det andra sovrummet kan bestå som antingen två små singlar eller en king size-säng med ett stort badrum duschrum. Vi erbjuder ytterligare en lägerbädd (helst för barn) med sängkläder, vilket passar in i antingen sovrum beroende på vad du föredrar. Det finns också en resesäng för ett spädbarn om det behövs. Utanför finns ett gräsmatta och parkeringsplats för två bilar.

Sea Urchins Cottage ligger vid Bay Development, en prisbelönt semesteranläggning på Yorkshire kusten, med privat tillgång ner till stranden. Bayen är en utmärkt bas för dig som gillar sport eller utomhusaktiviteter - du har fri tillgång till den stora uppvärmda inomhuspoolen, barnpoolen, bastun / ångbastu och gym. Det finns också en liten lekplats, fotbollsplan och boulebanor. Andra aktiviteter finns på plats för en liten avgift - bågskytte, fäktning, skönhetsbehandlingar / massage, bordtennis, tennis, putting green, aqua-aerobics och andra poolaktiviteter. Platsen har en fiskesjö, vilda ängar och dammar för naturälskare. Båten erbjuder även cyklar för uthyrning och andra säsongsaktiviteter (till exempel kajakpaddling).

På plats finns också ett allmänt hus, café / restaurang, apotek (säljer några grundläggande matvaror) och ett nytt familjeunderhållningscenter (nöjen).

Från bukten kan du gå längs stranden till Filey. Du är också bara en kort bilresa från Bridlington, Flamborough, Bempton Cliffs och Scarborough. Något längre bort är Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, York och North Yorks Moors.

Beautiful

Absolutely stunning property Very clean and tidy, has everything you need and more for a cosy relaxing stay. Location on the bay is perfect. The walk in shower is an added bonus, didn't want to get out.. Will definitely book again in the summer to make most of the balcony from main bedroom

lovely place and very comfortable. Well equipped everything there to make your stay relaxing

The place was very pleasing. Just a couple of issues, but it didn't spoil the holiday. The large bedroom wardrobe was difficult to open, because it was positioned near the bed. Perhaps moving it around to somewhere else would solve the problem. Where the table and chairs are near the front door there was dust on the skirting board. Putting these issues to one side we loved the place, we would still recommend it to other people. All the comforts of home and everything you could possibly need.

No complaints at all, lovely location with a fantastic view. Second time at this property, last time we were there we mentioned that the key safe was in a awkward place, reading the numbers was difficult, so it's been moved to eye level, much better

Lovely place to stay

This cottage is ideally placed only a short distance from the amenities on site and the beach walk. The cottage was very comfortable and had all you could need during a break near the seaside. We have used The Bay a number of times and this cottage was the best so far.

Nearly perfect

This cottage is the best one we have stopped in at the Bay , The only gripe was getting into the key safe when it was dark , it took over 20 mins to get it opened .

Great house and location

Excellent location. Property immaculate.

Visited this property and location several times. Always found a very high standard of cleanliness. Excellent location for cliff and beach walks. Short drive to North Yorkshire moors and seaside attractions. Well equipped with home comforts. Easy parking, quiet peaceful location.

A great experience

Just what we needed for somewhere to stay for a local family wedding. A very clean and comfortable property with all of the equipment etc which you could want for self-catering and close to the huge beach.

Absolutely loved it !

We loved this cottage, everything we needed for a home away break was in the cottage. Location was fabulous for the beach and the local pub on site and the log fire was the perfect ambiance in the evening (fluffy socks & cosy toes). Loved the balcony in the master bedroom, open the blinds to a sea view with a nice cuppa. We will most definitely book this cottage again

Sea Urchins Cottage is a lovely house set in a lovely complex

What an excellent modern, clean house with all the mod cons you would need to make any length of stay a good one. Good Wi-Fi, excellent TV. The decor throughout is lovely and the bathrooms are superb. The location is great and only a 10 minute walk to the beach. The bay is a lovely quiet place and we will be back.

Amazing

Another stay at the bay and always as fantastic as ever. House was perfect and location was amazing. Great views from the balcony overlooking the sea. Will definitely be returning. This bay never fails us, great for the kids with all the amenities. Thank you to Paula and the team for a great stay

Excellent break

Lovely house with all the amenities you would need. The Covid cleanliness was excellent and gave much needed reassurance in these odd time. We have stayed at The Bay before , but this property has an excellent location and being able to see the sea was lovely.

Best holiday home we have stayed in at The Bay over a period of five years.

Everything was catered for and the goody bag and chocolates on arrival were very much appreciated after our journey. We were all impressed with the carpeted upstairs including the dog and my granddaughter was over the moon with the blue bathroom her favourite colour. The sea views from the verandah and the nearness to the beach enhanced our stay immensely. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked it for next year.

A home away from home in a fabulous location

Really lovely home in a great location. Sea Urchins cottage has all the amenities you could need for a great stay. It was nice and clean and well looked after and the little touches of books, puzzles, charging cables and super duper wi-fi made it perfect. Its a great size for 2 adults though there is a second bedroom that can fit two single beds too, so space for children or a third adult too. Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and there is a downstairs toilet too. The balcony overlooking the sea was extra special too - that was our dog, Bailey's favourite spot! Sea Urchins cottage is also close to the pub, shop, pharmacy and leisure facilities on The Bay so everything is just a short walk away. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back. The Bay Filey is a fabulous spot for a relaxing stay. Follow the beach path right down to the sands and turn right for a walk towards Hunmanby (great beach cafe at Hunmanby gap!) or left to walk to Filey. The walk to Filey takes around 45 minutes though you can make it longer if you want to - just join the Caledonian way, a way-marked route that goes all the way along the coast, and you can walk to Scarborough and beyond.

Brilliant accommodation

This is our 4th year at the bay. This was the most expensive. It was probably well worth the extra money, and I may come again in the future. Beautiful house with everything you need is there. You really don’t need to bring anything but your clothes. Paula was very easy to contact. We stayed for 2 weeks and the cleaners came after the first week and gave us fresh towels and sheets. Really good service.

Lovely stay

Lovely location, cottage has everything you need and more. Just tough with toddlers trying to keep them out of the knife drawers! Just on arrival there are lots of plug in smelly things which are actually really bad for your lung health especially little ones. I also really hate having the lawns being mown so often ( twice a week! Then the come round with a blower to clean up the massive mess!) and a path was being lain as we arrived last time meaning it wasn’t the most relaxing location to let the kids run around. Is in all a wonderful cottage would just be great to have a few more things thought about to make it more child friendly.

A wonderful holiday.

This was our 4th visit to the Bay and this cottage was the best house we have stayed in. The location is fantastic being close to the beach and the resort centre. There is limited traffic so it is ideal for children’s safety. The cottage was spotless on arrival and was very well equipped. We had a sealed bulb go in the downstairs toilet and Paula sent someone out to sort it straight away. All in all a great cottage and a great holiday, despite some dodgy weather. Our 4 year old granddaughter loved the cottage so much she asked if we could stay. She did 3 activities whilst here, slime making, build a bear and tie dying a T-shirt and she loved them all and Jordan who took the sessions. Thank you for a great holiday. What a lovely cottage.

We had a great stay at Sea Urchins Cottage. There were 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 young children. The cottage was very clean, spacious, and decorated beautifully. The beds were so comfy and having an en suite on both bedrooms was great. We had everything we needed. It was a short 2 minute walk to the main area where the pub was. And the coastal path was also a short walk so the location was brilliant. I would recommend this cottage if you were looking to stay at the bay. It’s also pet friendly but sadly our dog passed away before our holiday.

We are Paula and Tim Foster. We live in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

We have 3 school age children, and love visiting Filey - the children love it too and have their favourite shops, cafes, and ice-cream stalls, as do we!

We regularly visit "the Bay" - staying in our first holiday home (Sea Urchins beach house ref 8162520) which we have owned since March 2014. We've owned the Cottage since September 2016, and I (Paula) now manage both properties.

Varför värden valde detta boende

We love visiting the Bay - staying in our first holiday home (Sea Urchins beach house ref 8162520) every couple of months. On one visit, we found out they were building some homes with balconies and sea views, and we just had to have one as its always been a dream to have a view of the sea and Filey in the distance!

We were first introduced to the resort of Filey around 9 years ago and we have holidayed there nearly every year since.

The beach is excellent - clean, sandy and not too crowded. We have spent many happy days building sandcastles, paddling in the sea and playing beach cricket. The town of Filey has a variety of small shops and cafés, and glen gardens park is excellent for children. We like the fact you can walk easily from one end of Filey to the other, down to the harbour to watch the fishing boats and play in the arcades, or up into the country park to get some great views.

We have our favourite places to visit - Sewerby Hall (with a small zoo), Bempton cliffs RSPB, Flamborough, Scarborough and Whitby (including the steam railway to Pickering). All within a short drive.

We now stay at either property when we visit, and make them available to others when we are not there.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The Cottage has the benefit of both bedrooms being ensuite for extra privacy, and the second bedroom can be made up for children or adults as it has a zip and link bed. As we are a family of 5, we have a further camp bed, as we appreciate the difficulties in finding holidays when you are not a family of 4!

The master bedroom has a full width balcony with seating to take in the sea view to the front and side.

The downstairs is open plan, great for family time, and the kitchen has all the mod-cons (dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave etc).

The Cottage is also very close (one of the closest) to the path down to the beach, making it really easy to explore the beach. It is also only a few minutes walk to the resort centre where there is a pool, pub and cafe. There are no passing cars (apart from those staying at the final few properties before the beach road) which makes it quiet in terms of road traffic, but you can sit and watch people passing on their walk to the beach.
