Studio St Jean är en lägenhet på bottenvåningen för en maximal 2 personer i en 400 år gammal byggnad i hjärtat av den medeltida staden Bayeux.

Detta är ett perfekt läge för alla som bokas på en D-dagstur i Normandie stränderna eller en buss till Mont St Michel, eftersom alla turer går från Place de Quebec som ligger mindre än 2 minuters promenad från lägenheten.

Studion har en stor dubbelsäng, en bekväm soffa, gratis wifi, ett matbord med vadderade matbord, ett fullt utrustat kök med spis, diskbänk, mikrovågsugn och kylskåp med frysfack. Det finns också ett helt nytt duschrum / toalett med extra stor duschkabin. Studion har utsikt över en privat innergård och det finns en låst dörr till huvudgatan.

Trots att studion ligger på en av huvudgatorna i Bayeux betyder dubbeldörrposten att du inte får något trafikbuller från gatan, bara enstaka mås att påminna dig om att du är bara 5 miles från stranden.

Rue St Jean är en gågata i juni, juli och augusti och det finns en veckovis marknad på onsdagar. På lördag hålls huvudmarknaden i Place St Patrice, som ligger mindre än 10 minuters promenad. UNESCOs listade Bayeux-tapestry är inrymt i en byggnad mindre än 5 minuters promenad bort och den otroliga medeltida katedralen ligger på samma avstånd. Du kan hämta en buss till Mont St Michel eller en D-Day turbuss mindre än 3 minuter från studion och det finns otaliga barer, kaféer, restauranger och butiker precis utanför din dörr. Det finns en cykeluthyrning butik mindre än 50 meter bort och området runt Bayeux är mestadels platt. Railyway-stationen är bara en tio minuters promenad men vi är glada att möta dig från ditt tåg och ta dig till studion med bil. Kort sagt, det finns inget riktigt behov av att hyra en bil medan du är i Bayeux men om du vill göra det, finns det gott om säker parkering inom mindre än 5 minuter av studion.

Tåget från Paris tar 2 timmar och det finns täta tåg till Caen, som bara är en 15 minuters tågresa.

Central and convenient

Could not get more convenient for restaurants and tours with the office of tourism just a few metres away. Definitely would suit couples. The apartment has all you need. Great place.

A wonderful place to stay to tour the D Day sites

I am so glad I found Sally’s place because it was absolutely perfect for us. We loved having a location in such a lively area. Sally answered several questions ahead of time to help us prepare for our trip and had useful information available in the studio. And the bed…so large and comfortable!

Perfect in every way!

This accommodation proved to be excellent for us: we planned on a lot of touring and walking and we were able to accomplish both easily. The room is an ideal size with modern appliances and sufficient closet and cupboard space. Very pleased!!

Perfect Location

The ground floor studio apartment was perfect for my husband and me. It was located in the middle of town, next to a grocery store and many restaurants, etc. It was also very handy to the pick up site for the various tour groups in town. Although it was located in the middle of town, it was so quiet. We would definitely stay here again if ever back in Bayeux.

Great place to stay

We were a tad late arriving, and our host was wonderful about making sure that we arrived safely and had what we needed. The apartment was easily accessible, and a great location for restaurants and activity. We could walk to the cathedral and the tapestry museum easily. Parking was difficult because we were there during the D-Day 80th anniversary so I can't blame that on our host or our apartment. I would definitely stay at this location again if we ever return to Bayeux.

Perfectly situated to enjoy much of Normandy, space was perfect for 2, with basic amenities and easy access to the food market, wonderful restaurants and a local laundry. We highly recommend!

Beautiful!

Beautiful apartment, fun location close to everything in Bayeux. Within walking distance to museums, the Cathedral, a laundromat, and many restaurants. Grocery store a few doors down had everything we needed. The street is busy with foot traffic and nearby restaurants, but we had no problem with noise in the apartment, it was very quiet. We found free street parking within a walking distance and that was more convenient for us than the pay lots. Host met us at check in and gave us instructions about the water heater and other features. Truly a fabulous apartment and location!

Great stay in Bayeux!

Sally and Mike were helpful and excellent about communicating with us. They showed us around the apartment which was tasteful and exactly as described. The location couldn’t have been better in downtown Bayeux! We walked everywhere. This apartment is perfect for a couple. Charming with a small kitchen. We didn’t cook dinner but sometimes had breakfast and sometimes lunch in it.

Perfect for two

This was an amazing rental for the two of us. Close to the train station and very close to Place de Quebec and many restaurants. Also close to a grocery store. Apartment was clean and quiet. Communication with host was excellent. Highly recommend.

Great location

The studio is conveniently located to shops, restaurants and a full grocery store. Everything is within walking distance, including the tour pick up location. Like the other reviews state, the studio is very quiet, despite being on a busy street. You could probably even walk from the train station, Assuming you don’t have a lot of luggage.

Love this place

Bayeux is the coolest little village in France! I just loved it. This apartment is literally right in the center of town and easy access to everything. The place is incredibly clean and comfortable. Getting in tough with Susan was very simple and she was extremely helpful. If you want to go to the D-Day beaches and see the tapestry then you will love this place!

Normandy mini stay

Great studio right on the Main Street for restaurants in Bayeaux. Short walk to laundromat and the tour pick ups if you need. Car park is a short walk and studio has all that 2 people would need. Bed is comfy and large. Street noise is very minimal even given the location. Sally was readily contactable. We were very happy.

Fabulous stay in Bayeux!!

If you’re planning on visiting the Normandy, battle grounds, or Mont Saint Michel you couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. The apartment is immaculate and such a cozy spot to stay. The showers have hot, hot, running water. The windows being opened up, bright and cheery, and the air conditioning works fabulously, owners hospitality was well noted and we will come back. Hopefully soon, the town of Bayeux is so fun. There’s so many places to eat and stroll. The tapestry and the cathedral are absolutely beautiful and the town is clean and friendly. thank you!!

Michael and I are an Anglo/Irish couple who grew up 20 miles north of London, where we worked for many years. We moved to Normandy in 2003 and ran an award-winning B&B for 13 years but recently saw the need for more short-term self-catering accommodation in the highly popular town of Bayeux.

Bayeux has always been one of our favourite towns so it was an easy decision to buy and renovate Studio St Jean in late 2014 when it came on the market. Since it's opening in May 2015 it has been full for 80% of the time, with some wonderful feedback from our guests.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Studio St Jean is located in one of the oldest streets in Bayeux, right in the heart of all the shops, restaurants and bars, with a fantastic market every Wednesday morning. We love that it is right in the centre of everything and yet, because it has a closed entrance it is still as peaceful and quiet as if it were out in the country.
