We stayed here with family while in town and had a wonderful experience. The home is beautiful, spotless, and filled with stunning artwork that made it feel especially warm and inviting. The owner is incredibly kind, and was so easy to communicate with throughout our stay. It was the perfect place for our family to gather, and we truly appreciated the comfort and care put into the home.

Great host, flexible and responsive. The property is excellent, inside and outside. Chef’s kitchen with large modern appliances and work space. This was excellent for our group of five to stay plus several plenty of entertaining space for four additional visitors from CT.

Wow!! This was the BEST VRBO we have ever stayed in. The house is stunning and decorated with beautiful art work and gardens. It is immaculately cleaned with anything you may need to cook meals. Very comfortable beds. We loved the outdoor patio. The town nearby is walkable and super cute. Douglas is so friendly and welcoming. He was available if we had any questions and check-in was very easy. Highly recommend and would love to stay here again!

Thank you, Jim. It was wonderful meeting and hosting you both! It's terrific that you and nearby family members made such good use of my home as a base to explore the Litchfield Hills, CT shoreline communities, and area restaurants. The fabulous group of restaurants just down the street offer great food and atmosphere for those times when at home meal preparation just isn't on one's vacation agenda.

We needed a home to stay for the weekend of our daughter's wedding. This place was more than advertised and was very comfortable. Alot of thought has gone into this property and the owner has a keen eye for detail. I would highly recommend this property if one needed a stay in the area.

The house is amazing. Felt like a mini-mansion. Very interesting decor; like an art gallery. My daughter, a MassArt grad, loved it.

We had the most incredible stay at Doug’s home. We have probably stayed at more than 30 properties over the years and this by far was the most comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. The grounds are beautiful and the flower garden is so well designed and cared for. The interior is updated, very clean and a bit quirky with country manor charm throughout. Quality inside and out. There were eight of us in town for a celebration of life and being able to come home, spread out and enjoy the artwork or the cozy areas throughout without feeling cramped was just what we needed. Also, we highly recommend taking the Ikebana flower arrangement class. It was great.Thank you Doug. We hope to be able to return one day.
