Vårt hus ligger i Newport Harbor, ett lugnt lugnt läge mycket nära Douglas och Saugatuck innerstäderna och till Douglas och Saugatuck stränder. Med öppna vidderna i framsidan och baksidan, är det angenämt för tidigt stiger och solnedgång skådare. Solen går upp bakom Kalamazoo floden och däck tittar på en damm där solen.
Platsen är också utmärkt för cykling och paddling. Vi har 4 ensamstående kajaker, en 3-kanot kanot och en brygga för att starta dem i Kalamazoo-floden som leder till Saugatuck Harbor-området och Michigan Lake. Stränderna och Saugatuck är 3 miles om man vill cykel.
Med fyra rymliga sovrum, alla med en garderob, ett stort vardagsrum med välvt tak kan det rymma stora grupper upp till 10 personer. Hela köket och utanför grill områden kommer att lägga bekvämlighet för din vistelse.

Annual Friend Trip to MI

We had a great trip. The house was perfect for our large group. The kids loved playing yard games outside, playing tag around the house, and climbing trees. The adults enjoyed the large sunny deck. We all enjoyed the kayaks, very easy to transport to the water. Loved the quiet neighborhood, a great get away from the hecktic downtown.

Great Location and Price

This location worked out great with our family. Easy to get to Douglas and Saugatuck for our walks. We enjoyed out time together over Easter.

Beautiful, convenient, quiet home

We had a wonderful stay here. The house was spacious and accommodated us (5 adults) well. It was very convenient to get to Douglas, Saugatuck, and other nearby areas. We loved the big windows and sitting outside, but the best part for me was the access to the kayaks and canoes. We kayaked multiple times during our stay and it was beautiful. If staying for a long duration, check the pre-arrival email and/or do an inventory of what’s available in the house in order to plan grocery shopping.

Summer weekend get away.

First time in the area and we really liked it. Sand hill cranes in the back yard were a hit. Only issiue was the TV Dish was not working during our stay. I am sure it is fixed now. We would stay there again.

Wonderful home for families

My wife, her family and I stayed here for a weekend and this was a wonderful home with many nice sized rooms. It was very clean and in a beautiful neighborhood. It was close enough to downtown Saugatuck and every other neighboring areas we visited (like Holland). Selim was very friendly and quick to respond to any messages I had. I will definitely stay here in the future.

Family vacation

House was beautiful , very clean and convenient to the town. The living room ceiling fan was broken and could not be fixed while we were there. We made the owner aware but felt this should have been addressed before we arrived. It was very hot and could have used it. He was very apologetic however and genuinely felt bad. Beautiful neighborhood and very quiet away from the noise. Highly recommend .

Perfect accomodations

My family and I including our married children really enjoyed our stay in this home. It was clean and stocked with everything one would need, and the location and amenities were fantastic. We would recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway and look forward to returning there ourselves.

Great stay in Douglas

The pictures don’t quite do it justice. Great space. This is perfect for multi-generational stays because of the first floor bed and bath. Our kids loved the huge backyard and the tree swing. We saw lots of beautiful wildlife in the backyard and we were close to all that Douglas and Saugatuck have to offer. Wonderful stay!

Great place to stay in Douglas

My family had a great time at this beautiful home in Douglas. Great location- close to both downtown Douglas and Saugatuck. The backyard is expansive and very relaxing. Plenty of space inside for our group of 7. We appreciated that the owner was available by phone to answer a couple questions we had while there. Will definitely consider a return visit!

A Great Getaway

My friends and I had a fabulous long weekend staying at this house. Many VRBO properties don't live up to their photos/listings, but this one definitely did! Tons of space, plenty of comfortable seating to hang out in, very clean, and nicely stocked with basics. The location was great - quiet & scenic (we all loved seeing all of the birds visiting the lake in the backyard every day).

Nice stay in Saugatuck

Overall a very good stay. Property is as advertised and it worked out well for us. Selim was easy to communicate with and he helped us out with early check in. The property could use some general maintenance on minor things like shower heads and faucets suffering from hard water deposits. Thanks Selim!

We left the property. The only drawback we had was the kayaks were not able to be used because the water level was low enough that we couldn’t get them into the water and if we did, we could not get out of the kayaks back onto the dock there were no stairs attached that would give you easy access to and from the kayaks once in the water. The other few things that we had we contacted the maintenance guy that had been suggested and he came out and handled the situation.

Great Stay!

The house was perfect for our group of 8 friends. We had everything we needed to grill, cook, kayak/canoe, and just hang out and have fun! Location is great...5-10 minutes to Douglas and Saugatuck and 20 to Holland. Fantastic breweries, wineries, and restaurants nearby. River access is a short walk to the dock with the kayaks and canoes. We paddled to the Red Dock Cafe on the river. Guessing maybe a 4-6 mile round trip paddle. It was a workout but worth it! Communication was great with the owners too. We would definitely recommend staying here if in the area!

A lovely weekend getaway

This house was a great spot for our family's long weekend. It easily accommodated the 5 adults and 2 children we had in our party. The neighborhood was quite and sunsets against the pond in the backyard were spectacular. There were two crane's (sandhill perhaps) that came to visit every morning and walked the neighborhood throughout the day. Basically our time at the house was peaceful and serene. It is a short trip into Holland, where we spent much of our time during the day. We had a fantastic time and would definitely come back!

Relaxing Riverside Stay Near Saugatuck

Our family had a wonderful stay. This home is well-kept, large and the perfect spot to enjoy one of Michigan's premier spots. The place was clean and well stocked. When we arrived a couple of adarondock chairs in the back were broken, and the owner had two new ones delivered the very next morning. That was impressive. We loved having access to the nearby Kalamazoo River. I escaped with my son-in-law a couple of mornings to go fishing, and we caught several bass and northern pike. The dock is a little tricky to enter, but we managed. Overall, this was a fantastic experience. Especially enjoyed the ping pong table in the basement and the expansive and lovely backyard.

September weekend

All 6 of us ladies had an enjoyable stay. The bedrooms were very roomy, comfortable beds, and nice bedding. Although the kitchen is small, it was well supplied with all the necessary utensils, pots/pans and dish wear for cooking. The toaster was testy and probably should be replaced. Had an issue with a fire alarm chirping away when arrived and continued for a period of time until handyman arrived. All rooms nicely furnished. Otherwise we had a great time.

Annual Family Vacation

While to house is very well located close to the Douglas / Saugatuck beaches and activities and in a nice, quite neighborhood, its obvious when driving up which house is the rental. Bushes needed trimming (which took place over 2 evenings during our stay along with the yard equipment trailer parked along side the house). Improvements are needed. Though no fault of the owners, and animal had clearly died under the deck and the stench rendered the deck area unusable. Owner did respond promptly but problem was not resolved. We also would like to have opened any of the windows in the home to enjoy the summer fresh air but none of the windows have screens. Details are everything and many were lacking regarding upkeep.

Beautiful area but house needs work

Douglas was amazing but unfortunately the house wasn't well maintained. The dish washer didn't work well and we had to wash dishes most of the week. I believe the trap wasn't being cleaned. We washed a load of clothes and the dryer didn't work. We had to go to a laundromat to dry them. The dryer vent was blocked with lint which is a fire hazard. I called the owner and he told me to call the handyman as he was on vacation. Wow... I was on vacation too and it wasn't my job to contact the handyman. The kitchen wasn't outfitted for cooking meals and was missing many basic supplies. We won't be back to this house but we loved Douglas and will find housing elsewhere.
