Beautiful cabin

We enjoyed our stay at Lake Chalet. Very clean and very well equipped with everything we needed. We will definitely be return customers.

Nice house in need of maintenance

For only a 13 year old home, one would expect a little more. Fireplace and firewood -- check. Matches or fireplace lighter -- nope. No hand soap of any kind at any sinks. No sponge in the kitchen. Bathroom showers are beautiful on main level but show signs of mold. Outside lights at corner of the house are in a good spot for safety at night but could not find any switches. Upstairs toilet is tiny. King bed is very low, hard to get up. Pool table is great but no short stick makes it hard to use. Air hockey game is not in good shape. Ping pong equipment less than adequate. Did not notice in the house profile that this was in fact a Railey rental and there would be an additional fee paid to VRBO as a result. We paid the total we expected but the way it went down was not satisfying. Other than that the house is as advertised.

What COVID-19 Deep Cleaning?!?

So... let me first say that this is our 5th vacation in Deep Creek Lake, and we love it.... our 2 star rating has nothing to do with this awesome area! Railey Vacations was not easy to work with. I sent several emails leading up to our vacation, and some never were returned. Additionally, I called to get information: I was on hold a very long time and spoke to a rude employee. Due to the pandemic, I requested a reimbursement for the CARC cards that were advertised, but were not going to be able to be used. Her response was that only things like hot tubs & pools make properties more expensive (Hello, this IS access to a pool) so she couldn't reimburse me. When I asked to speak to a manager, she said she was the manager & she couldn't help me. When we finally arrived, we found that the house was NOT deep cleaned like all of the emails that were filling up my inbox in the weeks prior to our trip kept promising. The trash & recycling outside the house were overflowing (we needed to call 3 times to finally get a hold of anyone to take care of this) & the house was dirty. Examples: my 7 year old found a jellybean by the downstairs tv, in plain sight, & asked me if she could eat it. EW... NO! Also, the bathroom (upstairs) had a DIRTY toilet bowl upon arrival... SUPER EW! Finally, many of the comforters had stains on them. Other things... nails out all over the place (my husband hammered down so our feet wouldn't get cut), lights out, hot tub jets didn't work, air hockey table barely blew air... At one point we joked that was this house on a show of "Who Can Build a House the Fastest?" (not a real show) because of how in the pictures it looks rather nice, but there are little things all over the place that aren't quite right. Here's some more... uneven trim, cupboards that don't shut, the table falls apart, the stairs are cut in too deep, dangerously hung dartboard (beware parents of small children, this thing is not anchored because it is hiding the breaker box). This house goes down as one of our worst ever rented on VRBO. Tip that I am going to remember as a personal reflection.... rent a house from someone that uses that property as a THEIR vacation home... these have been our best houses! I am never using a reality company for a rental again... they just don't care or have that personal touch!

relaxing

The cabin was perfect but i know not to come to the area in april. Everything is closed for the season. We were supposed to have access to an indoor pool even that was closed. There was one arcade open but the go carts were not open. So just a review for the cabin it was perfect but i know when not to come to deep creek.
