This review is reflective of the service and accommodations we received vs. the price we paid for renting the property – essentially I felt that we did not get what we paid for and would suggest looking elsewhere to find better rental properties in Cabo.
The homeowner and property manager are very nice, and even offered to book activities and reservations for us. The location was great but unfortunately, there were many inconsistencies we had to deal with: the sleep number bed in the master was deflated on one side, the master a/c did not work, the downstairs a/c was not functional, the dishwasher didn't work, the hot tub wouldn't heat up, the water supply was turned off one day, the downstairs fridge didn't work, and the downstairs toilet was not operational. Yikes! So many things went wrong at once.
We were in contact with the property manager who helped to resolve some of these issues midway through our trip. My frustration and my rating are ultimately reflective of the response we received from the property owner - while some of the issues we had were promptly fixed, others were either blamed on us or ignored. The broken master a/c, dishwasher, toilet, fridge, etc., were really disappointing - we tried to have a good attitude about it but not what you'd expect for how much we paid to rent the house. Plus, the last thing you want to do on vacation is spend time fixing things that are broken. Our group managed to solve the downstairs toilet problem ourselves by removing the lid and manually pulling the underwater toilet chain to flush. Innovative? Yes. Disgusting and inconsistent for what we paid? Double yes.
The owner actually accused us of leaving the property in a messy state. Admittedly, we accidentally left the a/c running with the doors open which I agreed was unacceptable and I apologized. There were likely some crumbs on the countertops on floors, which we would have absolutely cleaned up had there been a request, but the owner never left check-out instructions. We even paid for a cleaning service to come and clean up everything after we left. If there were no instructions, how can you be surprised?
There are many nice people and homes in Cabo, and although our group still managed to have a great time, I'd recommend that you look elsewhere for a vacation rental - there's too many other accommodating homeowners and properties to give my recommendation for this one based on the disappointing interactions I had with the owner.
