Plats: Highland House Vacation Rental ligger ungefÀr en 30 minuters bilresa frÄn huvudentrén till Yosemite National Park och 11 miles frÄn Gold Rush-staden Mariposa. Stugan ligger en kort promenad frÄn en liten butik pÄ landsbygden och tvÀrs över gatan frÄn busshÄllplatsen som tar resenÀrer till och frÄn Yosemite. Höjden Àr 2500 ft i tallar och pÄ en sÀsongsvikande vik med vilda liv och en mÀngd fÄglar.

Historia: Stugan var hem för Newell Chamberlain, grundare av staden Midpines. Han publicerade artiklar och The Call of Gold - True Tales on the Gold Road to Yosemite, en bok om guldbrytning i omrÄdet under 1930-talet.

Boende: Stugan Àr utrustad med kök, inklusive ugn, kokplatta, mikrovÄgsugn, dubbelt handfat, kylskÄp, grytor, kastruller, redskap, tekanna, kaffebryggare, brödrost och mycket mer. Det finns en tvÀttmaskin och torktumlare i tvÀttstugan. Vardagsrummet har en matplats med utsikt över skogen och ett vardagsrum med en vacker utsikt över björnbÀcken och den omgivande skogen. Wi-Fi och internet finns.

Sovarrangemang: Stugan har tvÄ sovrum nere och ett sovrum och loft pÄ övervÄningen. NedervÄningen finns det tvÄ kompletta badrum. Sovrum 1 har en dubbelsÀng och rymlig sittgrupp, sovrum 2 har en full sÀng och privat badrum. Sovrum 3 har en queen size-sÀng och loftet har tvÄ enkelsÀngar. Rummen har garderober och bröst för klÀder och förvaring. (sover upp till 8 personer)
     
SÀngklÀder och pappersvaror tillhandahÄlls tillsammans med tvÀttmedel, tvÄl och schampo. I köket hittar du socker, mjöl, kaffe, te, olja, vissa kryddor, diskmedel, pappershanddukar etc.

Lokala restauranger och shopping: Flera mycket bra restauranger ligger inom sju mil. En landsbutik ligger inom gÄngavstÄnd. Pioneer Market, en livsmedelsbutik med full service, ligger i Mariposa (7 mil).

Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Enjoyed watching the wildlife from the back porch as much if not more than the Park!

Dated , mice droppings in kitchen drawer near stove , we didn’t use the double ovens but did look in need of cleaning , blankets in large room upstairs were dirty , mattresses need to be replaced specially the one in the downstairs bedroom , the bathroom in the hallway could use some cleaning in the tub area it has some mold and tub needs New caulking , carpets could use some cleaning .I was happy to see the kitchen had plenty of electrical appliances for our use , dining room had plenty of space for all 8 of us , and also has the eating area by the bar to seat 4 people,Leaving room had plenty of seating .This are my observations and hope they help You in some small way .Thank you !!

We stayed here during our visit to Yosemite. It is about 35 minutes from the west entrance of the park. The kitchen was well stocked. The Pioneer market is 10 minutes away so we cooked in dinner for 2 nights. The prices at Pioneer Market were very reasonable for a vacation town. It was great to have a washer and dryer and laundry detergent was provided. The common spaces were very spacious and the cabin itself was charming. The bathrooms have a bit of an odd setup, but has everything you need. The host was very responsive. Would definitely stay here again if we visit Yosemite.

Home away from home

We loved our stay here! This home was a scenic drive away from Yosemite and was a perfect place to relax after a day at the park. There were only four of us and the house had so much room that we wished we had brought more family with us! Perfect place to stay near Yosemite ❀

Great place for the family

Ideal location when visiting the Midpines/Mariposa area. The creek side location was beautiful. There was outside seating and dining areas, which were perfect in the mornings and at night. The internet worked well.

Cozy cabin, just 30 minutes from Yosemite

The cabin exceeds the photos online. Cozy, comfortable, and we’ll stocked kitchen. Linens were soft and plentiful, great place for a family with plenty of beds for everyone! We would have loved to stay longer.

Festive stay at Christmas!

We appreciate the effort the owner went to decorate the house for Christmas. It was cheery and festive, with a lit Christmas tree, holiday treats, and lots of cute decorations. The park, of course, was amazing. It was nice to come back to such a cozy cabin.

This was a great stay for our family of 6! We got the YARTS bus passes to get us into Yosemite, and the YARTS bus stop was RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from this rental! GREAT! There is also a great little old-town of Midpines, just 8 minutes away to walk around and enjoy to local culture!

Wonderful Cabin!

My elderly uncles stayed here for 10 days and had a great time! They "forgot" to check out on the designated date and the hosts were wonderful about accommodating them and making sure they got to their next destination. They loved the roomy, clean and cozy cabin which was well located for their Yosemite adventures. This cabin made all the difference in how they enjoyed the park. It was world's apart from staying in a hotel room.

Spacious house nearby Yosemite

The house is spacious and well equipped. We had everything we need. The house is directly located at the 140 leading into Yosemite, so perfect for visits into the NP, the traffic is a bit noisy in the night and morning. It was too hot to sit on the terrace, but there are two and also chairs besides the creek.

A great visit with visiting family

My two brothers and a sister-in-law came to visit us from the east coast. We thought it would be great to take them to see Yosemite. We searched out this house back in December and thought it sounded like it would work. Turned out, it was perfect. It had lots of room, was very comfortable, and was fully equipped with everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay. Thanks for making it available to us vacation renters.

Family trip to Yosemite

We had a good visit- the house was well stocked with towels, blankets, kitchen tools, etc. We never figured out the drip coffee maker, but the keurig filled in and was well stocked. Washer and dryer were also handy. It was great to have a large dining room table we could all eat at comfortably.

Great charming Cabin. Very clean. Nice hosts. Comfortable beds. Do not rely on GPS. The only issue is GPS took us off-road to boonies
 the marker is Wrong on Google, Apple, Waze and Tesla nav. Just look for the sign and you won’t miss it.

Yosemite trip.

Good Points.1. Reasonably priced.2. Convenient to the park.3. Comfortable for the 5 adults on our trip.4. Convenient to stores and restaurants.5. Excellent access to WiFi and cable.6. Host was always accessible and provided useful information prior to our trip.7. Interior of the building was neat and clean.Bad Points1. Interior of property is in need of updating and is not represented well by the pictures online.2.Landscaping of the lot was not well kept and was in need of maintenance.3. Surrounding areas did not present themselves well.Summary.This property fit our needs well because we were gone early and came back later in the day. Don't expect the property to look identical to the pictures online but as stated, it fit our needs very well. The host is a great asset to this property. Always responds and provides important information on the local area.

Half Dome Adventures

While I am months behind on sharing this, it's important I do so! My husband won permits to hike Half Dome and we invited some friends to join us for the long weekend. This location was perfect! It was close to a small grocery and town so we could enjoy access to cook food at the house and try some new restaurants while not being so far from the park that we had to be awake at a truly horrific hour to get started. The house was clean, had plenty of space, was cozy (we all enjoyed relaxing after the hike) and all six of us had decent privacy/space so we weren't tripping over each other. It was amazing to have the full kitchen and plenty of comfortable spots to sit. Bed were comfortable, which anyone who has travelled a decent amount can attest, that is not always a guarantee. The owner was perfectly pleasant to chat with and provided all the necessary information and granted us privacy as well. We will gladly be staying here in the future on our next adventure to the park with friends.
