What a wonderful property with everything you could need to have a great time! Clean and spacious, with a great view and all around wonderful atmosphere for a family who needs an easy walk to the lake. "The hostess with the mostest" was available for easy communication throughout the entire stay.

This is a wonderful property with lots of extras that make it really special. Loved the basketball hoop in basement! The sunset from the nicely furnished dock is beautiful. Would definitely stay again!

Smith Mountain Lake Vacation

We had a wonderful stay at this property from 8/10-8/17. Stephanie was a terrific host and was easy to communicate with during the week. The house was terrific with plenty of space for all eight of us. The extra’s provided with the stay(kayaks, ping pong, house with everything one would need)were great. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and we look forward to another visit in the future.

Family lake trip

Loved our stay at Smith Mountain Lake - house and dock were perfect for our family of 6 including grandchildren ages 15 and 11 - brought our boat and used the kayaks and paddleboard provided by hosts. Stephanie was very quick to address a dryer issue! Great week !!!!

Great Lake Get Away

Awesome location on a beautiful lake. House was clean and a great set-up for 2 families. Everything was just as described. The owner was very responsive to questions we had before the trip. We were able to dock our boat rental and our college-aged kids loved kayaking and swimming in the cove. We had a great week!

This was our first time visiting SML - can't beat this home's location. On the water, spacious and very clean! The owner, Stephanie is very communicative and ensures you have all the essentials. We have rented many homes on VRBO - this is a new family favorite. We will be returning!

Rainy vacation

We have stayed at this house before. It has always been enjoyable. It’s a very nice lot with a gentle slope to the water and the house is large enough to accommodate eight people easily. Unfortunately during this week we had 45 days of nonstop rain.

2nd time Renting, just as wonderful!

We have been renting annually for 7 plus years on sml and have never rented a place more than once, this house being the exception. The home has a beautiful view of the lake with a great dock and gentle slope. The house is very comfortable for two families. We appreciate how clean and comfortable this home is. Fantasitc quality home, PERFECT location!!!!

We recently stayed here for the second year in a row in August 2017. The owner, Stephanie, has gone above and beyond to decorate the home so beautifully yet perfectly comfortable for my family and the family we go with every year. I love the location on the lake, so close to everything. The dock is great with an outdoor sectional to sit on while watching the sunset or to have your coffee early in the morning as we did a few times. Swimming off the dock is a must as well or kayaking. The kitchen is fully stocked which was great since we cooked most nights! The kids especially love all of the bunk beds and the master bedroom is so beautiful! I cant say enough really... and we will all be back next year for our 3rd annual trip to our favorite rental house EVER!!! Thanks for having us again!

Great stay. Great property.

The house was amazing. Kitchen very well stocked. Location on the lake was great. Most places have a lot of steps or steep grade to the dock, but this one did not. Had mother in law with mobility issues so the walk to the dock was perfect for her. Covered dock with a sofa to hang out on. Floating dock for the kids to swim off of. A floating slide also for the kids. A fire pit, which we unfortunately did not use. 2 kayaks to use. Reasonably located to grocery store and a marina to rent boat from. We plan on contacting Stephanie again to use in the future. Thank you Chris and Stephanie.

We ♥️ Smith Mountain Lake and this house is a hidden jewel!

This rental property was amazing!!! We could not be happier with our week at SML. The house had absolutely everything we needed and with all the extra touches provided we felt right at home. The beds were very comfortable and there is an abundance of space for lounging and family games. We loved the access to the lake(mere steps from the house) and the ease of docking a boat (we rented one for a few days). I normally rate rentals with the stars and a then a few quick comments but I really wanted to convey that this rental property goes down as one of our top 5! We travel a lot and with a large group it’s very hard to please everyone but this house exceeded our expectations. The owners are fantastic to work with and very prompt in answering any questions that may arise. They certainly love their home as it shows in every aspect and now we do too!

Functional property with a brilliant location

This house has a tremendous location in a quiet, open section of the lake not far from the State Park. Clean, modernized inside, and convenient to the nearby park and grocery store. There's abundant decking, seating inside and out, and a comfortable primary dock complete with kayaks and a wraparound couch. Great spot.

Great Lake house.

We really enjoyed our week here. Met our three grandsons (and mom and dad). Loved spending time with them in a home setting. The kids rented a boat for the week. The dock area accommodated it very well. The boys loved jumping off the dock and using the slide as well. The deer and neighbors ducks were an added treat for the boys. Plenty of space and privacy for everyone. My oldest grandson (7) found a new live for ping pong and the youngest enjoyed the inflatable dinosaur! Only suggestion I might have is to add a pizza pan or two for the kitchen. It was very well stocked but if you think of adding a small appliance we would have used an air fryer quite a bit. This is a beautiful property on a beautiful lake and a wraparound deck that allows you to see it all.

Vacay All Day!!

I can't put into works what a wonderful time we had while staying at this house. The place is turn-key, you don't need to bring anything but your clothes! We spent almost all our time outside, either sitting on the wrap around deck or down on the dock, watching sun sets and sun rises. The dock was perfect for the boat we rented, and we couldn't have gotten better weather. The owner was very communicative and went above and beyond to to solve a TV issue we had with the cable company. You can't go wrong with this rental! We'll definitely be back. -aaron

SML+Family + Friends = A Perfect Vacation

Our family has loved SML and we have vacationed here for 35 years. We have been home owners, but as our family expanded so did our need for more space. This was our 2nd VRBO and we loved this home! It was perfect for our family. There was plenty of space for the grandchildren to get naps without everyone else being quiet. The home was super clean and had everything we needed. The flat lot on big open water was glorious! The grounds keeper and property manager were very helpful when needed. We would love to return again for summer vacation!

Our Happy Place on Smith Mountain Lake

This is probably our 7th stay at Covepoint over the past 10 years and it never disappoints! We typically stay late in the season when the lake is quiet so it was fun to experience a different, more active vibe this year during the week before the 4th. We never run out of new areas to explore by boat or quiet little beaches to anchor at for a picnic and swim. We enjoyed eating at both Jake's and Drifter's as well as happy hour at Portside...all very easy boat rides from the house. We rent our boat from Bridgeport Marina each year and have always had excellent service. (We especially enjoy the tritoon boats they've added to their fleet the past couple of years.) Our favorite spot however on the entire lake is always the dock at Covepoint anytime of the day or evening. The firepit is also fabulous at night with the endless stars overhead. Stephanie and Chris were the perfect hosts as always. They were even vacationing abroad during this recent stay and still texted us to make sure all was well! As I've said in all of my past reviews, we highly recommend Covepoint and we will return!

Our family has been coming to the Smith Mountain Lake since 2000 and purchased our family vacation home at the lake in 2006 which is next door to Covepoint. We have four children who have grown up spending summers as well as fall and winter weekends at SML. We host a large family reunion at the lake every summer. We love the lake's deep clean water, water sports, excellent fishing and get away peacefulness. Mostly, we love sharing the lake with others. Covepoint was purchased as a rental and is owned by Covepoint LLC and managed by my husband and me. We have stocked the house with great amenities and everything you need so you can enjoy your vacation. We want our guests to have a 5 star experience! Photo is of our daughter wake-boarding.

It is close to the SML State Park with its trails, boat rentals, and beach and the views from the dock include the natural wilderness of the park. It is only 15 minutes by boat or car to all the nightlife, dining, shopping, and boat rentals at the main Bridgewater Marina, only 10 minutes to the grocery, around the corner by water from Virginia Dare marina and Virgil Naff Sea Doo rentals, and is a unique property in that it provides sweeping main channel views and deep water on one side and a serene cove on the other! The property has two docks! Covepoint provides several hangout areas with comfy dock conversational seating for 8, sunporch, family room, expansive deck, ping-pong area, firepit and expansive game/TV room perfect for kids of all ages. Adults can relax upstairs while kids have their own area downstairs! There is also a neighborhood boat launch, tennis court pickleball (racquets included) and basketball court.
