Orkanen Michael tvättade bort det ursprungliga Pickels Paradise på stranden men denna vackra plats precis nere på gatan överlevde stormen i kategori 5 och är nyrenoverad och vackert uppdaterad. Det är ett 1 sovrum med en dubbelsäng och en uppsättning inbyggda våningssängar, 1 badrum. Mysigt öppet vardagsrum och kök med franska dörrar till privat uteplats och uteservering med vackra palmer perfekt för en hängmatta. Bara en kort promenad över Hwy 98 till den dedikerade stranden! Njut av havbrisen och stänkande vågor när du tittar på solnedgången. Husdjur, brasa och den avslappnande drycken du väljer är alla tillåtna på stranden. Bonus utomhus slutna dusch med varmt vatten för att tvätta all sand från stranden bort! Det är också mycket nära och du behöver bara gå ett kvarter för att äta på Shipwreck restaurang! Kom och gör oförglömliga minnen här!

Brief Birthday Trip

We had a great, relaxing stay at Mrs. Barbara’s place. Everything was as stated and shown in the pictures. Super cute 1 bedroom/1bath unit. We would definitely stay there again.

Just an adorable home! Very thoughtful in design and laid out perfectly, it’s location to everything St Joe and Mexico Beach is spot on. Our host is very gracious and so very kind! I just can’t describe fully on how great a stay we had. We sure will come back!! Much thanks to Our host and VRBO

Beach is calling!

After a horrible thunderstorm on arrival, the skies cleared. I enjoyed morning coffees on the outdoor patio couch. The beach is just across the street. The unit was very comfortable. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking although I ate out often. Best restaurant is Shipwreck just a block away. The area is very quiet and feels safe.

We enjoy the quietness of st Joe beach. Our host was very kind and helpful. Beach was an easy walk. The outdoor space was very nice and we enjoyed playing corn hole. We loved the beach carts for easy transport of our chairs and umbrella. Would for sure return!

Location is prime, house is not

The proximity to the beach is what made this trip awesome. However, it was difficult to get past the noise upstairs from the other renters. The house is not properly insulated so you hear EVERYTHING from creaky floor boards to full on conversations from the other renters. Listing needs to clearly indicate this is a shared property, and this is the downstairs unit.

Relaxing beach vacation

We enjoyed our stay at this cute little cottage. The location is great. Short walk to the beach. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Barbara is a great host to work with.

Perfect getaway

Great experience overall!

At first you may think that a double decker will be loud neighbors, but we didn’t hear a peep. Very nice accommodations, every detail has been thought out from the knife sharpener To the beach chairs and toys. It’s was the perfect size for the 2 of us, but if you had small kids, it would be perfect for you, too. Great location, and we are very glad we stumbled across this cute home.

Great place to stay

We enjoyed staying here. It had all we needed for a day at the beach with the wagon, chairs and umbrella and a short walk across the street. The beach was never crowded. Just a short drive to restaurants and shops and Panama City Beach less than an hour away.

Tiny & comfy

This place was great for our needs. Tiny but comfy with great beds, comfy couch & plenty of seating. Great shower & well appointed kitchen. Loved the outdoor area. There was a problem with the check in as the address given by VRBO is not the actual address. This needs to be updated. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Downstairs Beach House Rating

It was clean and just a short walk to the beach. Owner was quick to respond when I had questions. However the couch looked worn and showed signs that animals might have been on it. And if someone was upstairs walking around, we could definitely hear them. Even though I’d give this place an overall 4, we definitely wouldn’t stay in a downstairs again where you can hear people walking upstairs.

Girls trip fun

Great location, right across the street from the beach. Easy walk with wagon provided for our beach stuff. Be aware of the time difference as Mexico beach is central time and the house is in Eastern time. We had a wonderful girls trip.

Beautiful Sunsets

Stayed one month - January. Location to the beach is awesome. Cross one street and you are there! Town of Port St Joe is so charming and friendly. Apalachicola is not to far away and is another great small town. Must visit the beautiful state parks in the area. Barbara is a wonderful hostess and very attentive. Will be back!

A long time resident of Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe who moved to area in the 1990’s to raise children in this place they call ”Mayberry on the beach “. Many flock to vacation here for this very reason. A lovely small town with the best uncrowned beaches and sunsets and an unhurried lifestyle that lets you slow down enough to really enjoy it!
