Great home in a quiet, woodsy area.

Super comfortable beds, couches, and overall just a pleasant home. Tucked away in the woods, super private and off the beaten path, but can still hear the sound of the ocean waves!

Rockaway stay

I highly recommend staying in Rockaway - the local restaurants were great. I favorite was the Beach Bakeshop. The house was a nice central location for the things we wanted to do on the Oregon coast. We will be back

Rockaway get away

Rockaway was a great place to explore the Oregon coast. We especially loved the Red Cedar Wetlands boardwalk. We visited the Tillamook Creamery, the Tillamook Air Museum and Mears Cape Lighthouse. We ate local and fell in love with the Sand Dollar breakfast pies at The Beach Bakeshop. We will be back!!!!

Sweet house on a hill

We really enjoyed the location of this property. It was right on the edge of the forest but close enough to the beach to walk. In the evening we watched bats flying in the backyard and a deer walked right up to the deck. One of the biggest reasons we chose the property is the enclosed backyard which was great for our dog.

Convenient Home for Beach Trip

The house has a good layout and provides ample space for a 4-person family plus dog. There are nice amenities in place for dogs, like a hose to rinse them from the beach walk and food bowls. You can walk to the beach, coffee shops and grocery store very quickly. Unfortunately the house is in the shade all day and the bathrooms and kitchen could use a serious update.

Small Cozy House

We enjoyed our stay at Rockaway Beach. The house is relatively close to the beach, and close enough to hear the waves. New washer and dryer, stove worked well and the pots and pans were in decent shape. There are some minor repairs needed: upstairs shower has a drip and the shower curtains need to be replaced. Hopefully these get taken care of for the next guest.

Quiet hideaway not too far from the beach

Our family spent a week here, along with our dog. The house is within walking distance of town and the beach, but you should be aware that the road to the driveway is a bit steep. It's nothing an average adult can't easily walk but may be a hindrance to anyone with health or mobility issues. For one who needs to drive into town, there is a public parking lot just down the hill, and we found that it was never full despite our visit being in July. The house has a private, fenced yard with a fire pit and picnic table, which was perfect for family time after adventurous days. The house was clean and had most of the amenities one will need. We mainly spent time on the beach, but we also rode the Oregon Coast Train to Garibaldi, visited the Tillamook Creamery, and explored Hug Point and Cape Meares. This was a nice central location for all of these things. We recommend the Beachside Bake Shop, Barview Jetty Taqueria, and Crab Rock Pizza (in neighboring Garibaldi).

Perfect for a beach stay with a pet

We found the house perfect for our needs. The fenced area with a fire pit, a picnic bench and a view was great! We also appreciate how close the house was to walk to the beach, convenience store and restaurants! We would stay here again, for sure!

Rockaway stay

The house is perfect, outside area so relaxing with all the trees, and the fire pit was amazing. We loved being able to walk to the beach in under 10 mins, even if the street to the house is a little steep, and being right in the heart of town for food and groceries. Lovely little stay, I think we may have to move here!!!

Mixed experience

We liked that the home was walking distance into town. It was nice to be able to see the ocean off at a distance and we enjoyed the fire pit on our last night and the fact that the house is nestled among the trees. Unfortunately, the house felt a bit dirty. There was visible dog hair on the floor and on some of the bedding. The area rugs seemed dirty and like they haven't been washed in a long time. The trundle is not usable. The sheets on it seemed dirty and it was very hard and uncomfortable so that is one less bed. The microwave and toaster oven are old and the microwave had peeling pint and exposed metal. The fridge is missing a shelf and the dishwasher also had a broken area on the lower shelf so it held a lot less plates. The kitchen needed some basic items like measuring cups, a cheese grater and more teaspoons. Some fun things were there were a lot of games and fun, old movies available.

Beautiful Retreat

This is a lovely house with wooded surroundings that bring a peaceful and cozy feeling. Close walk to the beach. Great fenced area for my dog and fun fire pit. Rockaway Beach is a cute little town!

A really good house that’s close to being great

I think this is more of a 4.5 star house, but everything that I found problematic is easily remediated. The road up to the house is extremely steep and dark, and I’d recommend getting there during daylight hours, if possible. The setting is wonderful. Extremely private and peaceful. The living room slider, onto the deck, make you feel like you’re in a treehouse. The fire pit setting is lovely. There are distant ocean and mountain views. The beds and bedding are comfortable, but THE PILLOWS ARE TERRIBLE. Fortunately, we travel with our own pillows. The kitchen amenities are fine, not great, so bring any specialty cookware you fancy. There was no bakeware. The wi-fi worked great, as did the tv, which is quite nice. There is a Roku streaming device, but you are limited to the channels/apps already installed. We were unable to stream any live sports as we weren’t allowed to install any of our own apps, which require a PIN.

Hidden Gem

We stayed for a week and enjoyed the central location in Rockaway Beach. The property has lovely privacy. There was a house being built and there was construction the entire time of our stay. Not their fault, but be aware if you are planning on staying close to Oct 2023. There were a few things that could be replaced and updated to bring this property to a five star. It is not a good property for someone in a wheelchair or walker. Our favorite part was getting back after a day of adventure and enjoying the outdoor fire pit. The BBQ is in bad shape, so don't plan on using that. It is cozy and we enjoyed our stay.

Nice getaway

This house was great for our getaway with our adult children. Close enough to town and beach to walk to as long as you don’t mind the short steep hill to the house. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had a little of everything we needed.

Perfect with pups!

My husband and I, my parents and our pups enjoyed our stay at The Rockaway House. It was VERY clean, well appointed and private. Only complaint was the beds and pillows were not comfortable.

Cute home close to downtown

Lovely little home. No real ocean view, but it was nice to sit outside with coffee in the morning, listening to the birds and the ocean. Bring any supplies you may need; coffee, salt/pepper/spices, specific items you may need. There are a couple of pots/pans/dishes/utensils. Anything else you need, you should bring. Tv was a challenge to deal with also. Extremely firm bed and toilet tends to run upstairs. Overall, it was a nice stay though.

Private cabin

This is a private cabin with a fire pit and peek-a-boo views of the ocean. It is set up purely as a rental with no personal touches and only basic amenities. The bed was comfortable. The road up to the house is steep, as mentioned, no problem for the car and a good workout for my quads. There is no cable tv and I was only able to use Netflix. Overall, we were comfortable and happy with the cabin and had a fun vacation.

Very nice home

This is a very nice area to stay, the house was tucked up on the hillside with a little peekaboo view of the water. The home was well appointed and very comfortable. The road it's on is fairly steep, so we didn't walk to town and the beach due to my mobility constraints, but it is very close to public beach access and shops. We did have a slight issue with trash pile up because it did not get picked up from the prior occupants and the Vacasa staff were quick to send someone out to address that. We would stay here again.

Perfection!

What a lovely home! What a lovely setting. Relaxing, quiet. We loved it. So well taken care of and you can tell it's a home that is greatly loved. A true gem.
