Albies stuga: Söt avskilt timmerhus pÄ en buskblock vid havet

Albies stuga Àr en liten dubbel historia timmerhus lÀtt gÄngavstÄnd till Killiecrankie Bay. Det Àr hemtrevligt, snyggt, lugnt och tyst och inrett pÄ ett enkelt och praktiskt sÀtt. Platsen kan beskrivas som shabby chic snarare Àn hotellstandard i rostfritt stÄl. Det finns ett litet sovrum pÄ övervÄningen med en queen size-sÀng och en övervÄning studie med en enkelsÀng, en dubbel bÀddsoffa, en bra samling av romaner och matlagning böcker och ett lÄngt skrivbord. Nedre vÄningen finns en kök-lounge och en liten tvÀttstuga och badrum. Stugan ligger pÄ en halv hektar kvarter, och kan inte ses frÄn vÀgen. Det Àr lite pÄ en kulle, och Àr inte riktigt lÀmpligt för personer med rörlighet. PÄ grund av de branta trapporna Àr det inte heller lÀmpligt för smÄ barn. Det skulle vara perfekt för mÀnniskor som avslutar ett projekt av nÄgot slag eller helt enkelt letar efter en lugn semester nÀra stranden.
Det finns grundlÀggande matlagnings- och rengöringsmedel i köket, samt allt lakan och handdukar, ett sömnad och nÄgra verktyg. Det finns dock ingen butik i byn, och snabbköpet, puben och flygplatsen ligger cirka 40 minuters bilresa i Whitemark. Medan det Àr teoretiskt möjligt att göra utan bil, skulle du i praktiken nÀstan sÀkert behöva hyra en pÄ ön. Under skollov Àr uthyrningsbiljetter svÄra att boka, sÄ snÀlla planera framÄt.

For our first trip visiting Flinders Island we couldn’t have imagined finding such a quiet quaint property like this. Everything we needed and more was provided, the home was relaxing and made us feel like we weren’t just visiting we were in our own getaway house.As we both like fishing maybe a suggestion to have a few fishing rods for guests to utilise while staying is the only thing we would have liked but overall there is nothing else we could have desired for a great weekend away. We will definitely be back and thank you so much for sharing your little piece of paradise. Kind regards Dan and Mel.

Killiecrankie serenity

A lovely little cottage set in the bush and views of Mt Killiecrankie and a quick walk to the beach. Perfect location. Alby’s is ideal for one, two or a couple and one person. It’s cosy.

A little disappointing after all the fabulous reviews. The walk up the steep driveway was a deal breaker for us. Stated it was air conditioned but isn’t

 not a smart tv (didn’t work) no Bar-b-q outside
.. only two wines glasses (one plastic). It’s tired and needs a good spring clean
. No paper towels washing machine detergent. 40 km drive from Whitemark but Killiecrankie was very picturesque once on the beach Just needs a bit of TLC

Had a great time chilling out in this very comfortable cottage. looking out over the Killicrankie bay each afternoon soaking up the vista from the upstairs deck was the best.

Delightful. We were surprised to be a bit cool overnight and we could not find extra blankets but other than that everything was perfect. A wonderful place to stay. Thank you. One suggestion would be to include a really detailed map of Flinders Island on the wall to help plan treks to out of the way places.

Happy place!

Albie’s cottage was delightful. Perfect location secluded amongst the trees and only 5 mins stroll to the beach. We did some lovely walks and great swims and snorkels. Very cosy and welcoming shack, beautiful views from upstairs, good for star gazing too. Pavla was very good at answering all our questions and left us some beautiful fresh herbs too

Great cottage for small groups

Cosy, clean and well-organised accommodation, great for groups of 3 or smaller. Owners were very thoughtful. We really enjoyed our stay!

Brilliant cottage by the sea

We loved our time at Albie's. It was the perfect little home for us while on Flinder's. Highly recommend. Great communication, clean and tidy with a very homely feel. Very relaxing.

Albie's Cottage

If you are looking for an intimate, tastefully decorated timber cottage, immersed in amongst beautiful flowering natives with parrots, currawongs and various honey eaters as your closest neighbours, this is the cottage for you. It is quiet and peaceful with amazing views of Mt Killiecrankie from the upstairs windows and balcony by day, and stars through the bedroom skylights by night.

Christmas on Flinders Island

Lovely little house with a very well equipped kitchen and pantry. Walking distance to Killiecrankie beach. The only negative was the steep driveway up to the house.

Just what I wanted

We had wonderful weather so beachcombing and bushwalking during the day and using the cabin as a base was perfect. The cabin had everything we could need in it. I couldn't be happier. The second bedroom was great for our kids (they loved it), but worth noting the mattress in the fold out bed would not be ideal for adults, well at least not older stiff backed adults like me.

I am a semi-retired academic, and live half-time in Melbourne and half-time on Flinders Island. The property was purchased for my late partner's children and grandchildren. For the next few years, they will not be able to visit often, or at all, and so the cottage is up for rent.
