Eirð - En unik retrÀtt vid sjön

Eirð Àr en exklusiv tillflyktsort för vatten vid Islands sydkust. Det Àr unikt belÀget pÄ en halvö vid sjön Gislholtsvatn och ger extra integritet och anslutning till naturen.

Eirð bestÄr av en huvudbyggnad och tre rymliga pensionat som blandar ihop en gammal skandinavisk loderstil med modern skandinavisk arkitektur.

Huvudbyggnaden har tre sovrum, ett stort kök, ett bibliotek med vedspis, en matplats med direkt söderlÀge sjöutsikt, ett vardagsrum med öppen spis utanför matplatsen och ett badrum (ett andra lÀggs till i början av 2019 ).

Varje pensionat har tvÄ enkelsÀngar (eller en dubbelsÀng), ett badrum med dusch, extra sovplats pÄ övervÄningen och en arbetsstation. En Nespresso-kaffebryggare och högtalare finns i vart och ett av vÄra pensionat.

Totalt har Eirð för nÀrvarande 6 sovrum och Àr dÀrför vÀl lÀmpad för upp till 12 personer. Extra sÀngar kan ordnas för ytterligare 3 personer, men 15 Àr verkligen det maximala antalet gÀster vi för nÀrvarande accepterar.

Eirð erbjuder sjÀlv kajak (att anvÀnda direkt pÄ Gislholtsvatnsjön) och mountainbike (för cykelturer i omedelbar nÀrhet) uthyrning frÄn augusti 2019.

Inom 30-70 minuter frĂ„n EirĂ° hittar du sedan stora turistattraktioner som: Geysir, Gullfoss, Mount Hekla, den ökĂ€nda Eyjafjallajökull-vulkanen (modernt besökscenter pĂ„ Hvolsvöllur), forsrĂ€nning vid floden HvĂ­tĂĄ, ridning, keridkrater och Þórsmörk höglĂ€nder.

I took a group to Eird for a yoga retreat and it was amazing! The property is beautiful, rooms were great and cozy, the yoga shala was perfect. We felt right at home and loved the seclusion of the property but that it was also close to so much on the south coast. We were fortunate to see the northern lights almost every night!! An unforgettable experience. Svava who owns the property was great to work with and she was also our private chef for the week. Her food, energy, and creativeness was second to none. She was accommodating but also made us feel right at home to enjoy the property. I cannot recommend this place enough.

The location was fantastic. We loved being able to walk on the roads and see barely any cars, only sheep and horses. The lake is gorgeous and was the perfect place for our cold plunge, and the hot tub was luxurious. We felt grounded and really appreciated the beauty of the buildings, both inside and out. Simple, calming and carefully curated. Our host was responsive to all of our needs in a timely manner. On the last two nights we were blessed with views of the Northern Lights, especially bright in the country. Thank you for an unforgettable and magical stay in Iceland.

Eird Retreat was an absolutely magical place to spend the trip of a lifetime. It's even more beautiful than the pictures. Plenty of space for 19 of us. The best equipped kitchen I've ever experienced in a rental. Absolutely charming and very responsive hosts. So sad that I'm not still there!

Beautiful Stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Erid Retreat. The location was stunning, remote and peaceful. The Retreat was more than able to handle our large group. With private and shared spaces we had the choice to come together and also enjoy our privacy. Although we did not have time to enjoy the peace of the yoga room as we would have liked, it looks like a fantastic facility that we look forward to enjoying on our next visit.

Excellent Stay overall!!

It was an awesome setup! Perfect for our group of 15. All had individual bedrooms! I wish the bedrooms in the main house were not so hard to get to especially for elderly peeps and also wish they had their own bathrooms instead of having to go downstairs! The road to get to the property was a bit far from the main road but that’s to be expected as we were in Iceland and distances are just part of the terrain! The rest was awesome though! The hosts Svava and Thor were awesome! Responded quickly to all questions. Even delivered a new grill the next day as the old one was not working properly! Overall the stay was great. Would definitely book again. Centrally located to all attractions in South Iceland!! Would have been too far to attractions like blk sand beach, Vik etc..if we stayed in Reykjavik!! Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful property, Svava and Thor!

Family vacation

The property was beautiful and perfect for my fiance and I’s families to stay together at while in the country for us to get married! It’s about an hour and a half away from Vik and an easy drive away from a lot of the sights in the Golden Circle. Most of us preferred the peace and quiet of the property however - it was just as pretty as a lot of the Golden Circle sights but without the crowds. The hosts were also so kind and communicative! We would love to come back with a larger group sometime. It was absolutely beautiful here.

DREAM COME TRUE

This property was beyond our wildest dreams. It was absolutely perfect and beautiful in every way. It was super clean and organized and was perfect for our group of 19 adults! There’s everything you would need for cooking together and there are so many cool little touches that made our stay extra special! (Like a cozy robe for every guest) I can’t recommend this space enough. The host was very responsive and helpful and went above and beyond before our stay to help us find a caterer etc. The house is also on a GORGEOUS lake and is only an hour from so many beautiful natural sites. I was a little confused before we attended about the bed situations, but basically it is 2 single beds in each room that can be pushed together to make a double bed. The host arranged each room ahead of time based on our guests which was lovely. PERFECT INCREDIBLE AMAZING!! Book it!!

The most magical winter wonderland

We stayed at Eird to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary with friends and family, and it couldn't have been any more perfect. We were lucky enough to have a fresh snow that blanketed the lake and the grounds. The lake was frozen so we were able to shovel out our very own ice skating rink, AND we got the northern lights! They were very faint, but still very very cool. Svava and Thor answered any and all questions we had leading up to the trip, and the house was just absolutely immaculate. I would 100% recommend Eird for any large group retreats in summer or winter. We cannot stop talking about how magical it was!!!

Relaxing retreat to unwind and enjoy quality time

This home was exactly as advertised. It’s in a beautiful location, very nicely furnished and stocked for a large group, and a perfect retreat for a relaxing stay. We stayed with a group of 20, with adults and young kids, and everyone had a lovely time. I would highly recommend this home for anyone looking for a nice place to relax and enjoy Iceland.

Perfect Place

We came to Iceland and stayed at Eiro as a yoga retreat and absolutely every single one of the 12 were thrilled with Eiros. The accommodations were perfect. A bubble of peace and wellbeing

Choosing Eirð Retreat for a company trip organised by Ad Astra Travel was a great decision. Working with the owners and hosts was an absolute pleasure and every and any request was quickly handled with such warmth and ease. The location itself gets guests immediately into a different mindset and they somehow ease into a state of relaxing and enjoying themselves. I was even asked to change a bit the plan we had in place to make sure that there was enough time to enjoy the beautifully decorated premises and the surrounding nature. My name is Thor and together with my wife Svava Björk, we run Eird Retreat.

My wife is an architect and she is the one who designed the entire remodeling of Eirð retreat, which has been going on since the beginning of 2018. Svava Björk, myself and our 6 children have all been directly involved in the renovation work :)

I work internationally as an executive coach and serve as the CEO of a group of companies called the Strategic Leadership Group. We design and run large leadership development projects for multinational corporations.

We are both passionate about creating unforgettable experiences for people. We do this through Eird, but also through architectural design, seminars and retreats.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

EirĂ° retreat started as a dream, many many years ago. A dream of working with leaders on grounding themselves as human beings, while creating powerful and sustainable strategies for the organizations they lead.

It was always meant to stand by a lake to enjoy the calming energy that comes with a body of water. It was also meant to have an Icelandic forest (bushes ;) ) and privacy.

When we found this location, we felt the gods had smiled upon us and bought it immediately. For us EirĂ° is a project that will continue to grow and develop over the next few years, as we add meditation spots, yoga facilities, more bedrooms, a sauna etc. So stay tuned on updates :)

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The visitors we have had so far have talked about the lake view and the tranquility as the unique aspects of EirĂ°. You really feel connected to Icelandic nature here :)

Another benefit is Eird's strategic location, as there are so many interesting attractions nearby.

Finally, the Scandinavian look and feel of Eird, along with its 9+ bathrooms with a shower make us quite unique.
