Oakland House

We had stayed around Pompano Beach a couple years ago so intentionally looked in this area for a house. We narrowed our choice to two houses and made the selection based on pictures. I should have enlarged the pics. Bathrooms looked good in the pics. They turned out to be worn and in need of an update. Actually, the whole house needs to be painted and deep cleaned. The woodwork is dirty and gross in places. The house we rented 2 years ago was similar in price but had been completely redone and was beautiful and very clean. This house in Oakland was overpriced compared to it. We accessed the pool from the master bedroom which had glass doors. They locked one day when we went out (doors had an odd latch) and we had not unlocked any of the other doors. I thought we’d just go out the gate to the front door and use the keypad. Unfortunately, both gates were padlocked from the outside and we could not get out. I called the managers and the bright spot was Bob showed up in about 15 minutes and unlocked the gate. He was very helpful. Last thing is beds are small and just ok. Neighborhood is not the greatest but grocery is close and beach is an easy drive.

Excellent - would recommend to anyone

The home was exactly as advertised. The owners had a nice personal welcome sign and little extras throughout The home was very clean inside and out! The beds were very comfortable and kitchen well stocked for us to make whatever we needed to make We were 5 friends who wanted to get away and relax and this property allowed us to do just that!!! The hosts were available for any questions prior to our booking and leading up to our stay They actually texted us later to be sure we arrived home safely and thanked us got staying with them I would go back and recommend the property to anyone

New Year Getaway

We were two couples staying a week in the property. We paid extra to have the pool heated and it was well worth it. The backyard gets full sun most of the day. The beds are a little small, but comfortable. The washer and dryer wad great for towels and clothes for the week. The kitchen had the basics and the grill was great. We really had little complaints through the week. The location of the property is great for activities, going to the beach and going out for good dinners.

Definitely not as clean as a rental should be. Relatively decent rental. Quit street. However, not the best neighborhoods surrounding rental. Close to airport amd dining options. Really just an average rental home. Nothing too special.

Great location in Fort Lauderdale

The property was nice and spacious for others to join us for meals and games. The cleanliness was adequate but definitely could use a deep cleaning, some sprucing up and wall repairs here and there. The kitchen is well-stocked for meal prep and a Publix is within walking distance. The kids used the pool every single day. We had it heated for the extra cost and it was worth it. It was a little odd that the hot tub was the same temperature as the pool but the children certainly didn't mind. We used a service nearby called Baby Borrow to rent life jackets, toys, a stroller, and more, and I'll promote them here as they were a wonderful resource when you can't haul everything with you. The host replied promptly to any questions. We would rent this property again.

Photos show much better than reality.

Broken temperature gauge in master agh half assed fix lowering hot water temp which made showering difficult. I had to clean. Pillows smelled of other guests head. Long black hair on floors, drawers. The lounge chairs were broken. The hot water tank is rusting out. The dishwasher doors springs are failing. A lot of the pavers damages in entry and around pool. Poor quality landscape, grass is bare and overrun with weeds. I understand palms die but there was such an excess of brush around the property. The neighborhood is poor, tons of traffic, and homeless outside Publix and Walgreens who approach you. An upscale house might have more than one TV. Clearly this was bought as an investment and little care is taken. Not a glass serving platter or bowls.

Great Manager. Tired Property

The Good - Jill (the Manager) was very responsive and great at communicating before, during and after our stay. The Bad - Furniture needs updating. Badly. Couch was lumpy and almost too uncomfortable to sit on. Side tables in master bedroom were old and delaminating. Kitchen supplies were minimal. Many scuff marks on the walls. Needs painting touch up. Spending a few dollars on updating the interior would really go a very long way towards making this house a good choice for a family vacation.
