Overbooked, canceled booking last moment

I booked my stay three days in advance. Everything was set, and I travelled to Winnipeg with my family. On the morning of the booking, around 9 am, the host cancelled our reservation, citing overbooking on another platform. This left us on the street. The VRBO agent was arrogant and couldn’t help us either; they charged penalties to the host, but as a customer, I received no compensation. I received no assistance from customer service and even reached out to the supervisor, but they were all the same.

The host cancelled the reservation last minute.

We were looking forward to a getaway in Winnipeg. But midnight the night before we were to come to win a big, the host cancelled our reservation with no real good reason. So therefore, we had to change your plans and we’re not able to come to Winnipeg for the event that we wanted to see. I sure hope we get reimbursed on our credit card

Like staying with relatives

Initially, we were wary as we booked for 6 as per the ad And received a notice afterwards saying that there was only 2 beds so we'd have to figure out or own sleeping arrangements. Then did not hear back when we tried to clarify. We arrived 1 hr into check in window and the host seemed surprised we were there. She asked us to get our things before showing us the space and shut the door while we went back to the car. We had to ask for access to the unit of we left as we knew we were going to be back after an evening event. We were told she would supply bread and milk for breakfast but were told we could use the open partially used box of cereal and oj. We bought our own oj but never saw the bread or milk. We didn't make coffee in the morning because there was a mouldy used coffee filter in the maker. There were peanuts on the floor and a pen under the bed. The towels for the bathroom were in the kitchen. The rooms were cozy but we were kept awake by the family walking around until at least 1 am and they were doing laundry at night. It is a great neighborhood and they were friendly. It was satisfactory if you walk in with the right level of expectations.

The cleaning policy for COVID should be paramount. There was no cleaning done at all.

This property was incredible! It checked off all of our boxes, and even the boxes we didn't anticipate. I would definitely recommend this property to others, and I would stay there again next time I'm in the area.

Very comfortable

We were greeted kindly, the accommodations suited our needs. The fridge was stocked with breakfast food. Our kids felt comfortable, that we were not crammed like in a hotel room. It was very spacious. The price was so reasonable.

Great Location in St. Vital, Winnipeg

Lovely people, great location. Overall a very nice place at a great price. But there are a couple of things that make it not ideal. It is not a seperate entrance, you go in the main entrance and down the stairs to the apartment. There is no lock on the door to the apartment, so no way to secure the space. The laundry area, which is in the apartment, is locked so you need to plan ahead if you want access. The bath tub is awkward and so not accessible for everyone. It was very cold in the apartment, even though the temperatures outside were in the high 20s/low 30s, celsius. There are several free standing heaters but when 2 were plugged in at the same time, the breaker tripped and we had no power in part of the apartment for the night. The family was very friendly and the place was clean. They also leave cereal, bread and milk for guests. It is a full kitchen. It is a block from the trails and is in a nice, quiet neighbourhood.

Cozy but room for 6 people

This accommodation worked well for our stay in Winnipeg. There were six of us (2 children) and we were cozy but there was still plenty of room for all of us. There was plenty of breakfast options and the refrigerator was well stocked.. The unit is as advertised - Clean and Coxy

This property offered lots of room for six people

Thanks to Maryann and her family for accepting our reservation. It served us well for the time we were in Winnipeg. The was ample room for six of us. She kept the breakfast supplies well stocked for us. I would recommend this location to others.
