Great house. Lot of room. Only complaint was mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. Paid for Monday-Friday but couldn’t check in til 2 on Monday and had to be out by 10:00 on Friday.

Location of the house is amazing. Bathroom could use some cleaning, there was mold in the downstairs bath. Beds were comfortable.

Perfect for young adults

Greg, the owner, is easy to work with and close by if issues It’s the perfect place for young adults who are looking for lots of comfortable sleeping and space to spread out and hang out It’s no frills and clean and comfortable. Location is perfect My children and their friends want to come back

nice home

everything was fine but having stayed at many other fire island properties we expected bikes to be available and basic spices and things like that in the kitchen. might be nice if you warn people ahead of time just so they are prepared. but everything else was just fine.

Great for large groups

Great spot for a large multi-family group. Good location mid-point between the bay and the ocean, with a nice large outdoor area for hanging out. We gave the kids the upstairs 3 bedrooms, and the adults the downstairs 4 bedrooms, which worked out well. Basic and clean accommodations that worked well for our group.

Everything we hoped for

We had a large reunion after a horrible COVID year and 1/2 of not seeing anyone. The owner was fantastic, and responsive to my communications, and did everything possible to make our stay a great one. He also rents bikes next door which was very convenient. We would absolutely stay again. Very spacious. Upstairs deck and extra kitchen were really helpful with a large group.

The Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal at Kismet was as advertised by Greg. There were plenty of beds and seating for our large group. It is a great location with easy access to both the bay and the ocean. Greg was very responsive to any questions we had or anything we needed (e.g. he quickly brought over a full propane tank for the grill when we needed a refill). He let us borrow his wagon to haul all of our stuff to and from the ferry which was super helpful. Central air worked great. Having a second fridge in the upstairs kitchen space was awesome. There are two stackable washer/dryers that generally worked well except the downstairs dryer was quite squeaky and may need repair. Adding a fence or something to close off the patio would be a big plus for families with young kids. Including some additional kitchen utensils and serving dishes would be a big perk. Other things that could be helpful at the house would be board games, beach chairs, and a beach wagon. Greg was a very responsive, helpful host, and a pleasure to work with.

Great stay for large groups!

We were extremely happy at the Kismet Taj Mahal. The location was great and the size was more than enough for our group of 20+. On top of this, Greg was a great host and was very responsive anytime we needed something. To be fully transparent, I'll warn that the beds are not the comfiest, but overall the accommodations for a group of our size were perfect. Highly recommend and hope to stay again soon!

Great trip!

We had a great time at this house! We stayed with 24 people for Labor Day weekend. There were enough beds for everyone to sleep comfortably. The outdoor area was great and we got plenty of use of the 2 BBQs. The location was perfect. We were a few blocks from the beach and also a few blocks from the ferry and restaurants. Greg was a great host and was available to help with any questions or issues that came up. We would definitely come stay again!

GONEBEACHIN

Perfect location in Kismet that accommodated our large group of four families. The house is a conveniently short walk from the ferry, The Inn and Surfs Out, Margaritavillas wine-bar and the deli on the bay side. It is also a short two block walk to the beach where most of the time is spent. The only walkway with a ramp onto the beach which was great. The house had plenty of room on the inside in addition to the outside with three decks, two BBQs and plenty of tables and seating. The owner is friendly, close-by and accommodating to any needs. One of the BBQ tanks went empty the first night and was replaced first thing the following morning without asking. I would recommend this house and we would definitely return.

Great property! Close to the beach and spacious!

Had a wonderful stay! The Kismet Taj Mahal is close to the beach and to the local restaurants. Plenty of bedrooms and space. The owner could not have been nicer. Would highly recommend!

Great Family Getaway House

We had 5 families, A total of 19 People meet up at the Kismet Taj Mahal for a family reunion. The ferry ride over was great, and the house was a short walk from the ferry dock. The beach was also a short walk from the house. We rented bikes to check out the Island and beaches. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable, The house had all the amenities of home. Greg made sure we were had everything needed for our family to be comfortable. I highly recomend the Kismet Taj Mahal for a quiet, relaxing, multi family getaway. Thank You Greg, 2 thumbs up !!!

Wonderful Time! Lots of great memories made.

This was our second time to stay on Fire Island in Kismet. We had a group of 10 that stayed at Kismet Taj Mahal for 4 days. The place was very clean, convenient access to the marina and beach. Greg was wonderful host. We rented bikes from him to explore the island. On Saturday evening we had more friends show up and the private area beside the home was perfect for entertaining. Two gas grills, 3 picnic tables and lots of chairs. Highly recommend this place for a great get away from the big city hustle. Laid back atmosphere. Just plain fun. Thank you Greg! we will be back next year.

Great House & Great Host

We stayed at the house at the end of August and it was the perfect fit for our large group. We were arriving a little early with all of our food, and Greg was very accommodating in making sure we were able to store things in the fridge. Also, our first night we noticed the propane tanks for the grill were empty, and Greg fixed the problem immediately. He was helpful with any questions we had and was easily accessible. The house was air conditioned and clean. We were 24 people and all slept very comfortably in the house. This was our first trip to Fire Island, and we can't wait to come back next year and stay at the Kismet Taj Mahal again. Thank you, Greg!

Saved our family vacation!

Clean, clean, clean!!!! Greg saved our family vacation. He provided this beautiful home after our initial rental at A different property didn't work out. Not only that, he helped us move three families items from one property to another and answered any questions we had right away! The home is set up to perfectly accommodate two families because the upstairs has a separate kitchenette and semi-private entrance with three bedrooms and central air with a beautiful deck. Downstairs has a wonderful living space with four bedrooms and is also fully air-conditioned. The air is a big deal for us and not many rentals on the island provide central air. I will definitely rent from Greg again. This home is a home run!!!

Perfect house for large groups!

We stayed at this house in the beginning of August for a bachelorette party (15 people total). None of us had ever been to Fire Island before, so we didn't know what to expect. We were all so impressed with the house and with Greg. The house was clean, spacious, air conditioned, in a perfect location (minutes from beach, ferry dock, market, restaurants/bars), and we all slept very comfortably. When we arrived, Greg met us at the dock with a trailer for our luggage and then he brought us to the house. He told us to let him know if we needed anything and we took him up on that offer. We called him a few times and he was always quick to respond. One time, we called to let him know that we forgot to bring garbage bags and he was kind enough to bring some over immediately. He even brought us some beach chairs, which you usually have to rent. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and we hope to come back next summer! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable, Greg!

Wonderful home for family reunions!!

We stayed at his house in July. WE were a large group on a family reunion -24 of us in all. Excellent location and the house accommodated us all. Greg was WONDERFUL. He was right there to make sure our stay was pleasant- even to bringing spices when needed! We will surely rent again from him. Tanks Greg for making our vacation fabulous!
