The New River Farmhouse erbjuder en lantlig atmosfär - i vintagegården, inredningen och i omgivningen. Ligger strax över körfältet från den nya floden, med fronten längs både floden och en välsmakad öringström, hittar du det här landet stugan det perfekta stället att rocka dina bekymmer på verandan. Du kan misstas för en lokal om du erbjuder en vänlig våg till enstaka passagerbil.


Vinterns träskåp i köket tar dig tillbaka till igår och eventuellt dina egna minnen av att bo i eller besöka familj som hade en av dessa vackra tallskök. Du hittar alla grunderna du behöver för att bosätta sig i några dagar eller en vecka, eftersom du använder den här stugan som bas för dina utforskningar. På kvällarna kan du och dina vänner eller familj välja att samla runt eldstaden vid floden - vi tänker kanske att vissa s'mores är i ordning? Eller du kan alla fånga en film - Netflix stora utbud finns tillgängligt till hands. Om du inte kan bestämma vilken show att titta på, finns det en andra TV i sovrummet med drottning sängen. Du hittar också en DVD-spelare och några alternativ från ägarens samling av filmer.

EXPLORE THE HIGH COUNTRY
New River Farmhouse ligger på den östra sidan av Ashe County och nordost om Jefferson. Från den här platsen kan du komma till New River State Parks huvudort, som har ett intressant och pedagogiskt besökande centrum där du lär dig om de lokala hellbendersna, som gör sitt hem i floden. Vi kommer inte att berätta mer om dessa spännande varelser - du måste ta reda på dig själv.


Du kan också gå upp norrut till Grayson County, strax över linjen till Virginia, för ett besök i den enastående Grayson Highlands State Park, bara knappt 30 minuter norrut, som är laddad med historia i sina stugor, vandringsleder och en underbar visning vid besökarnas centrum. Även där kan du få tur och möta några av de vilda ponnyn. Du är en enkel bilresa från West Jefferson, med alla butiker, restauranger och gallerier, liksom Mount Jefferson, och en lugn bilresa till staden Sparta i Alleghany County. Alla tre städerna är värd flera olika festivaler under hela året. Om du gillar historia, besök definitivt Museum of Ashe County History i Jefferson, som erbjuder den mest fantastiska diorama av den gamla Virginia Creeper järnvägen som den gick fram genom länet.

Great Getaway

Very cute! Enjoyed the river view and the farm house feel. The wireless and TV's worked great. Enjoyed all the games in the house too.

Beautiful and peaceful

We picked this spot out because it was pet friendly and we had a wedding to attend in the area! This was the perfect, peaceful, clean old farmhouse. We loved the country feel of this home. We plan on staying again in the summer so our son can enjoy the creek and river right across the road that hardly no one comes down. So quiet. So beautiful!

New River Farmhouse

We were very happy with this vacation. The location was great. It was private and everyone enjoyed the river experience. It was a little bit tough for some to get in and out of the river, but once you were in the water it was a nice part of the river to walk around in. I had fun fishing in the New River. The creek was nice also but not good for fishing.

Great location but fishing challenging

Property is in great location off the beaten path and has everything for a couple night stay you need. If you are wanting to fish, however, it's a difficult spot to fish from the bank and the creek is really small and low this time of year. For the hardcore fisher, I'd come early spring or later in the fall. for the family that wants to float the river, it's awesome. And the fireflies at night were spectacular. We'll be back definitely!!

We got a lot of shopping done watched some Netflix TV and ate out at the Tavern twice! The place Is adorable and very comfortable. We did miss having ice trays and had to buy some which was only minor issue. Also when we arrived there were no instructions other than what was in the booklet on the kitchen table about garbage disposal and the codes for the Wi-Fi. We put the bag of trash in the sealed container outside and tied it up as best we could. We will definitely be following up with you guys to rent again!

Perfect center for hiking

My husband and I, and our dog, stayed for 3 nights and visited Mount Jefferson SP and New River SP, both very close. The property is on a very quiet road, right next to the river, ideal for walking, too. We had everything we needed, (except a hairdryer!) and recommend the place.

Very cozy and pleasant.

Overall very relaxing place. Personally could have done with a few less dust collecting "tchotchkes" that seemed to set off my allergies. That being said, I would stay again. I will just remember to bring some Zyrtec next time.

Great location for outdoor activities

Very close to New River State Park where we went hiking. Others there were kayaking. We spent another day biking down the Virginia Creeper Trail. It is a very short drive to the quaint downtown of West Jefferson. The house is very cozy. We had a nice relaxing weekend.

Our last day there we had a very traumatic event happen and my husband was in the hospital most of the night. I called the rental company to ask for a later checkout if possible because he was finally getting some sleep. I do not know the ladies name that I spoke to but she was so very nice and understanding and she told us that was not a problem at all and if there was anything they could do to help just let them know. Thank you so much for you kindness and we will definitely use Stay Blue Ridge again.

They were able to play in the stream, swimming, jumping rocks, fishing. We had campfires at night. Sat on the porch while they played in the yard. The house is clean and comfy. The kitchen has the basics but I struggled without nonstick pans. Overall everything was wonderful and we are looking forward to staying here again.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location and clean is the only great thing about this property. It's hot and the one a/c unit isn't enough, at night we had to open the windows to cool the house down. One window is painted closed. The outlets only have 2 not 3 plugs so no where to plug in anything with 3 which most things have a ground now. We had internet password trouble that was never resolve. We had to use our cell phones that were roaming. I haven't received the bill for that yet.
