Great location !

First time in Nags Head and we loved it and the house was perfect for two families with young kids. We loved the pool and the proximity to the beach. Only downside was we didn’t realize it didn’t come with linens but there were plenty of places to buy linens nearby. Would def visit again, thanks !!

Week away!

Location has great access to the beach, restaurants, coffee shops and ice cream. What else do you need! Pool was great when it got too windy on the beach.

Awesome home!

Off the hook was perfect for my families vacation. Location was absolutely perfect for walking to beach, to the grocery store, to shops, and Red Drum restaurant was right there too as well as a few other restaurants . A short walk to Dowdy Park and of course 1 block to my home made it great to see everyone. The pool and yard were a plus! Highly recommend this home.

Great family vacation.

Very very clean home. The layout was perfect for our family of 7. It was a difficult hike to the beach for me though. Not so much the distance, but was an uphill walk in the sand part of the way. But the pool was wonderful!

Our fourth stay in this house

We have stayed in this house four times. The weather was fantastic. The ocean was nice and warm, which is unusual for June. The pool was great very clean not too much chlorine in it. The house is always clean and well appointed. We have no complaints. There was a small plumbing problem while we were there and I contacted the host and she had a plumber out the very next morning to fix it. She was very attentive and very responsive, we enjoy our stay there so much will be back next year

This is the third time we have stayed at this property. It is a great location a beautiful house and just overall a really wonderful place to vacation. The owners make it so easy and they’re very responsive to any questions or communication that you need.

Great Pool & Beach Access

Our family had a wonderful vacation in OBX and enjoyed staying at Off the Hook. We especially enjoyed the swimming pool and the beach which is right across the street. The home had everything we needed and was very clean and well maintained. Jessica was also very helpful and prompt with her responses. Highly recommend Off the Hook!

Good Location

Good property. Good location. Easy walk to beach, Booty Treats ice cream, coffeehouses, Christmas Mouse. Shopping and restaurants all in close distance to the property, but the house has everything you'll need if you plan to cook at home. The pool is a great alternative for swimming and laying out too. Sunrises and moonrises were awesome in September. The location was great!

Off the Hook was Amazing!!

Our family had an amazing time at Off the Hook! It was cleaner than any place we’ve ever stayed. The location was amazing and the house was perfect! The owner was always available to answer questions prior to our booking and arrival. This place gets 10 stars from us! We already can’t wait to stay again next year! Couldn’t of been more perfect!

2023 vacation

My granddaughters said it was the best vacation ever. House was really nice. Just a simple walk to beach. Had 3 good days on beach then the rain came, but can't control that, so we found other things to do. Swimming pool was the greatest. Nice size.

Off the Hook is everything you need!! We’ve stayed twice now and already booked for next year. The house is so clean, perfectly located and the pool is amazing!! The owner is great with communicating and is so accommodating! We are Off the Hook renters for life. :)

Off the Hook is off the hook!!!

We LOVE Off the Hook. It’s one of our happy places without a doubt. This was our 3rd stay now and it was perfect as alway! The owner is absolutely amazing and makes the stay even more welcoming. We’ll be back next year if dates line up for us and if not, we’ll look forward to being back in 2024. We are Off the Hook regulars for as long as they’ll have us. Can’t wait for our next stay already.

Wonderful!

We had the best time at ‘Off the Hook’. Not only was the decor adorable, but it was spotless! I have used VRBO to book most of our beach rentals. Normally I spent the first few hours having to clean and wipe down the house (total clean freak here!). Jessica’s home was the first one that I did not feel like I had to. It was spotless!! It had everything we needed and I was really able to relax the first moment we arrived. Jessica herself was also lovely, she was incredibly responsive. Best rental at the beach!

Family getaway

Off the Hook was the perfect fit for our family OBX trip. We arrived to find a very clean and organized beach house that more than exceeded our needs and expectations. The family room/large kitchen/dining room combo was perfect for us to mingle, eat and play games. We also loved the pool on warmer days when it was too hot to go to the beach. The house had many areas to relax in the sun or shade, and to find time to yourself away from others if needed. We have no complaints at all. We loved this home and look forward to a return trip soon. There are many things to do in the area. Our teens enjoyed mini golf and trips to Booty Treats for ice cream. Thanks again for a great family beach week.

Perfect location for family vacation!

This home was perfect for our family vacation (5 adults and 3 kids ages 9, 7, and 6). The weather was perfect for all but one day. It was a short walk to the beach so we could easily run back to the house if we needed anything. A few of us surfed in the mornings (rented a board from Outer Surf). When the kids had enough sun and sand play, we'd head back to the house, rinse off in the outdoor shower (this made it really easy to keep the house and pool clean!), and take a dip in the pool. We also played badminton and threw a softball around in the yard (we brought all the equipment). When we got hot, we'd just jump in the pool - it was the perfect setup! The day it rained, we played games (the house has several and we brought a few) and watched movies. We walked to Booty Treats (appreciated that they had non-dairy options as a few of us have dairy allergies), Red Drum Grill, SeaGreen Gallery (we visited multiple times to take in the zen garden in the back), Traveler's Moon (my 9 year old loved the crystals), Front Porch Cafe for coffee and breakfast treats, and Christmas Mouse (my mother was in holiday heaven). We also played mini golf, just a short drive away. The house was very clean and well stocked. We found everything we needed in the kitchen or laundry room. It was great to have multiple decks and places to relax inside/outside. We are so grateful to have found this gem! We definitely plan to come again and highly recommend!

Home away from home

Off the hook is a beautiful property. It is decorated like one's own home and not like a cheesy beach rental. You can tell the owner occupies the home regularly and pride of ownership shows. One surprise was the size of the bedrooms. The bedrooms are HUGE for a beach house-closets, dressers, and plenty of room for suitcases without feeling like you have to step over something all week. Also, the rooms are very sound proof, which was perfect when traveling with an infant and a 3-year old who has bedtime meltdowns. The house is updated and clean as a whistle. The kitchen had every item you could imagine. We cooked dinner 6 out of 7 nights. The only suggestion I have is that the deck boards need replaced. It took my 3-year old getting 2 gnarly splinters for her to remember she needs to wear her shoes outside. You can tell some boards have been replaced on the back steps so I am sure more will be replaced once the price of lumber comes down. We had a minor issue with the toilet and the owner was very helpful and accomodating. Great location and we will absolutely stay again!!

Security Deposit

This owner is off the hook, in a bad way. She has kept a portion of our deposit for reasons I do not agree with. We moved a few dining room chairs because the table was not functional nor could we get outside. We only moved them to the kitchen bar area which is next to the dining room. We left glasses in the dishwasher because the dishwasher is so old it does not dry the dishes so I could not put them away before check out. We left a hallway light on, reason to keep deposit. I left a bottle of ketchup and mustard in the fridge, that's it, thought maybe the next person would want it but claims that to be another reason to keep the deposit. She claims there were feces on the outside of the toilet which she is exaggerating beyond measure. The house has terrible soundproofing. We had a miserable night sleep every night because we could hear every car and the many big trucks that drive past the house. All the sliding glass doors are very old and need replacing. The seal in the master is broken therefore no sound barrier between the master and the road. The door off the kitchen was not able to open. My husband adjusted the rollers and sprayed a bunch of wd40 just to be able to open it. The trash company came at 3am on 3 different nights. The kitchen is in poor shape. The cabinets are literally falling apart. The oven is awful, takes a very long time to heat up. All the curtains are installed so that you cant open or close them. The curtains in the living room are so poorly hung that when I was opening the curtain the rod flew off and hit me in the head. The grill is a joke and we know how to charcoal grill but this one is an antique. She has done a great job with the decor but it's just lipstick on a pig.
