The day after we arrived, we were informed by workmen that the road was being dug up and that we had to move our cars from the car park, as we might not be able to get them out later. Half our party had gone on a Hike early that morning, so knew nothing about it, they had to park away from the Chapel when they returned.This is not the sort of thing that the Council decides at the last minute, and it went on for the whole 3 days of our stay. We spoke to the workmen and there had been plenty of notification about the Road closure and so we informed the Host, that it was inconvenient. We should have been informed, so that we could cancel and find somewhere else to stay. You couldnât push a pram up the road and there was debris flying everywhere from the diggers. We didnât get a satisfactory reply from the Host, she said she knew nothing about it as she doesnât live in the village. All the bathrooms had an awful smell, the On-Suite was particularly bad and had to keep the door shut. As I hadnât got satisfaction regarding the road, I didnât bother to report the smell, but if I had complained at the time, the Host could have told me what to do. Iâm not a plumber, surely its up to the Host to sort out those sorts of problems. I would not advise anyone to use the whirlpool bath, due to the muck it chucked out.The Chapel is up for Sale and it is neglected and in need of painting and maintenance work.
