Vår fastighet ligger tillbaka från vägen på komplexets västra sida och inkluderar en privat panoramabalkong som leder från loungen på mellersta våningen och en stor solterrass med pergola på översta våningen, både som ger skugga på mitten av dagen och fantastisk solnedgång utsikt över bukten på kvällen. En mindre balkong har utsikt över poolen, vilket gör det möjligt för tidiga stiger en utsikt över solen att klättra mellan bergen. Den moderna öppna loungen och matplatsen gränsar till ett modernt, fullt utrustat kök som är anslutet till sovrummet på bottenvåningen och soldäcket på tredje våningen via en elegant spiraltrapp. Luftkonditionering finns i huvudrummen. Small oasis

Lovely property and surrounds. Huge pool almost to ourselves which was a great place to read a book in the shade and shelter from the wind.

Wonderful and cosy flat

The apartment is very clean and comfy. The pool is a dream and well maintained. Bedrooms are at the ground floor. Living room and kitchen in the 1st floor. We really liked our stay here.

Amazing stay

The property was lovely and clean, however, not ideal for those who have mobility issues as the stairs to the kitchen and living room was quite tight. Owner of the property was very responsive and recommended great places to eat and the beaches were lovely. If you are looking for a relaxing break, this place is definitely the place to visit.

Superb picturesque quiet Crete

Lovely relaxing location, with easy access to delightful quiet and sandy beaches. Excellent set of local tavernas providing great food at sensible prices. Seems unspoilt by the Travel industry and an area that still is able to give an authentic Greek experience. Villa provides all you could want with good accommodation, facilities and a lovely pool area

Great Villa and Location

Our second stay here and it was just as good as the first time. Spacious and well equipped. Air conditioning kept it comfortable at night. Brilliant pool just a few metres away and with the beach and village just a few minutes walk everything you need is within easy access. We had a small water leak in the bathroom but 30 minutes after reporting it a member of staff arrived and it was quickly fixed. We were expecting a clean at the end of the first week. It wasn’t a big deal and we could have chased it up.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grapevines, the villa, location and weather were all perfect. The villa and pool were well maintained with plenty of advice and support from the owner and management. The location is lovely on the outer edge of the town but still with shops and great restaurants all within easy walking distance.

Lovely property in a lovely complex

The villa itself was well equipped with everything you would need. Large and spacious. Lovely pool in complex and a short walk to tavernas. Information given by Ian the owner was a great help with recommended restaurants to eat and places to visit. Would highly recommend renting this property.

Great Location Grear Pool Great Accomodation

We stayed in Gapevines over the summer and our stay was great and everyone enjoyed the accomdation. On the ground floor there are 2 bedrooms, as a result the bedrroms are cooler, so great for sleeping. The main bedroom has a terrace, patio doors and ensuite with shower. The first floor has the sitting area, dinning area, and kitchen. The kitchen is well stocked and has a full size oven, hob and microwave. The 1st full has a small terece over looking the pool and larger terrace which you can eat out on it has 6 seat table to and chairs. On the top level is a large sun terrace. Nearby there are 2 beaches within walking distance and numerous restuarants which serve a wide variety of food I would recommned this property and would definately stay here again

Lovely pool

Great location, quite spacious and well equipped. Air con was essential in August. Very convenient for local beaches, shops, cafes, and restaurants. The pool is splendid. The only downside was that in common with other holiday rentals the kitchen knives are blunt and the beds are really hard.

Booking this Villa was very straight forward with excellent communication from our host and then from Grapevines managenent. Great, relaxing holiday destination

With all the amenities you could want and the pool steps away from the front door, Ian's 2 bed apartment provides great accommodation In Crete. The pool is at the heart of a small, friendly complex that is close to the town and the beaches of Makrygialos, and there are loads of great recommendations of restaurants, beach bars and places to visit at the apartment. In just a week, we ate well, visited the beautiful mountains, swung in hammocks on a deserted beach, swum in the sea and watched the amazing sunsets - a great place to relax!

WONDERFUL

we had a very relaxing stay here , villa very comfortable & clean, pool beautiful & complex peaceful & clean and very friendly . great resort enough restaurants and bars and the most prettiest beaches I have seen down by the harbour . the sea was crystal clear and very shallow and warm as a bath . lots of nice restaurants that do good food . had a wonderful week , Ian the owner was very informative with everything & directions from airport were spot on .

Lovely

Overall a lovely holiday the villa had a small amount of damage which was rectified in hours, brilliant pool but the only downside would be the upside down living which is Cretan style the spiral stairs were a bit steep so anyone with mobility problems run the risk. Apart from that a really nice relaxing hol.

Fantastic!

A beautiful town house in a stunning development on the edge of the village of Makrygialos. The 20m pool and gardens were amazing but it was only a10 mins walk to the waterfront where there were numerous tavernas which served great food at very reasonable prices. There were lots of lovely quiet beaches nearby. We also walked the Pefki gorge and Butterfly gorge which were close by. We loved our holiday and I'm sure we'll be going back very soon. The owner was very helpful and communication was great.

Fantastic place and surrounding

What a calm and beautiful place this is. We are more than satisfied, the house has everything one would need; clean, beautiful and close to everything. The communication with the owners was super smooth and the lady who was in charge of taking care of the house and the keys (Chrysa) was really helpful during all our stay. There is a booklet in the house with lots of suggestions on what to see/do and where to eat, which is great. If you want to experience a real local hidden place in Crete, this is where to stay and go. Good to know is that the pool is not heated, we stayed in June and it was a bit chilly in the pool.

Not able to stay but excellent to deal with

Unfortunately we were unable to take our holiday as my wife caught Covid just before we were due to go. Ian was very flexible and accomodating when we were trying to sort out rearranged dates, including inconvenient arrival times - which we were also unable to take in the end as my wife didn't recover in time. So a five star rating on the basis of Ian's communications and flexibity when we needed it.

Super holiday home in laid back Makry Gialos

Superb holiday at this Grapevines Villa. Ian was a pleasure to deal with from the start of the booking process and couldn't have been more helpful. Makry Gialos is a lovely laid back town on the quieter South Eastern coast, but with plenty of character and a good choice of eateries etc. The pool on the complex was a great size and regularly enjoyed by all the family. We enjoyed the use of a car to see different sights around the island, (efficiently organised by Ian and Rosemary!), but others chose just to stay in the attractive complex. Grapevines suited us very much, with just 20 villas on site. Number 14 had everything we needed for our stay, and with a choice of two private balconies and an additional roof deck, we couldn't go wrong. Would have no hesitation in recommending Ian as the owner, or his lovely villa, and our only criticism would be of me for not booking a longer holiday there! Many happy memories created on this holiday and will no doubt rave about it for many years to come :)

fantastic holiday

I am slightly loathe to write this review as this resort, and accommodation is a hidden gem and I don't want it to be discovered so we can enjoy it again! If you like laid back resorts, with a section of restaurants (although serving similar menus) beautiful beaches and a luxury 'home from home' villa, this is the place for you. From the minute we booked, Ian was so friendly, organised and helpful. The directions were spot on and once we arrived and were greeted by Rosemary, we were given a thorough tour of our wonderfully furnished and clean accommodation. she recommended things to do in the area as well. We didn't actually cook once as the restaurants were all such good value. The beaches are quiet, clean and the sea is crystal clear. There wasn't alot to do outside the area but that suited as and our boys (10 and 13) as we spent the days on the beaches or walking down to the harbour for drinks, crepes and ice creams. Thank you Ian for letting us use your house, we hope to come back soon.

Lovely villa holiday in the Crete sunshine

We stayed in this lovely villa at the beginning of October 2015. What a delightful place to stay! The villa and small villa complex are immaculate, and looked after by Rosemary who lives next door to the complex. The villa is very modern and well equipped. Grapevines is situated on the edge of Makrigialos , a quiet village on the south eastern coast of Crete. There is an abundance of good restaurants in Makrigialos, some of which are close by the villa and others which are by the main beach overlooking the sea. They are all very good value for money. We especially enjoyed having lunch at a restaurant on Green Beach (Diaskari Beach) which is within walking distance of the villa. We used Makrigialos as a base for exploring the local area and going further afield by car. Driving is easy and the roads are quiet. This is an ideal spot for a relaxing and sunny holiday. Thank you to Ian and Michelle for letting us stay in their villa. We look forward to returning before too long. Jill and Anne (sisters from Leeds)

Crete without the crowds

Perfect third visit to Grapevines. Different villa each time, but the consistency of property quality matched with a sparklingly clean pool remains the same. Beds are comfy. Excellent showers with enough hot water for me and my two post teen daughters, which means enough for anyone. Aircon so efficient that it's not needed for long, kitchen equipped with everything you could need, including a dishwasher. Washing machine and a sunny roof terrace that could dry the wettest washing in an afternoon (along with front and rear balconies, one of which always has some shade). Beach towels, clothes pegs, dishwasher tablets and a decent range of books are the kind of touches that make these villas special. It's the best part of two hours from the airport, but it's an easy drive, especially when you know that at the other end you'll find a really nice holiday home at the top of an easy walking hill packed with good value tavernas and mini markets. There might be some other English voices around, and everyone speaks the language in the restaurants and bars, but this is also an area that the Greeks come to holiday, which contributes to the "undiscovered" vibe. You won't find an all you can eat buffet, but you may have to choose your favourite ice cream shop. And that might be the most difficult decision of your trip. Don't miss Diaskari (Green Beach), which although within walking distance is worth taking the car to. Giorgios doesn't own the taverna any more, but is still there to rent you a $10 'kiosk' with a hammock and a couple of sunbeds, just inches away from the clearest and most snorkel-friendly beach on the island. The taverna there remains my favourite too. Fabulous food (the fried zucchini are a must), fresh juice, cold beer, great vista. Makrigialos is lovely. Grapevines couldn't be a nicer, calmer place. Ian is a perfect host. Book with confidence..

Fantastisch!

We hebben een heerlijke week gehad in het fantastische en luxe huis van Ian. Het ontbrak aan niets. Het zwembad met de ligstoelen gaf ons een totale ontspanning, de omgeving, de natuur, de stranden en de stadjes zijn prachtig.

We have 2 children (both girls) and one grand-daughter plus 2 cats. Not sure which cause the most trouble!

Varför värden valde detta boende

We originally purchased our villa/townhouse at Grapevines purely as an investment but from the first time we came out to Crete (just to put up curtain poles and hang curtains) we fell in love with it. It's not just that the villa is wonderfully positioned and equipped and that the pool is the best we've ever swum in, but the whole area draws us back time and time again. Makrigialos is a delightful village, the people are so welcoming, the beaches are probably the best on Crete and the food is delicious everywhere you go. What more do you need?
