La Papalaya är en vacker och bekvämt belägen villa som blandar både modern och traditionell. En av få hyrvillor som ligger på landsbygden men ändå gångavstånd (1 mil) längs en platt, bekväm stig in i centrum av strandstaden Puerto Pollensa (där det är ytterligare 300 meters promenad till stranden) och en kort cykeltur till Pollensa gamla stad - villan har två stora skyddade terrasser, en privat pool med romerska trappsteg och grillplats innesluten i en muromgärdad och mogen, vintergrön trädgård. Båda sovrummen har eget badrum. Fastigheten har luftkonditionering, WIFI, brittisk tv med fullt Sky-paket (inklusive On demand Sky Sports, Sky Movies och Kids-kanaler), cyklar med hjälmar, en PS3 med massor av spel, badjackor för barn, ett hus iPad med massor av lokala rekommendationer, en lager Nespressomaskin, Lego och massor av brädspel, böcker och DVD-skivor.

Really lovely private villa - very well equipped - comfy beds - quietest aircon - clean pool and outside beds. Perfect for the port and for Pollensa town - the market is a must as is a visit to Saint James Parish Church in Alcudia - great communication.Thank you for sorting out bikes for us and introducing us to a species of owl that we had never known about ! We would love to come back sometime .

This was the most fabulous stay. All the amenities you could ask for - for all age ranges. Close to many beautiful beaches/ eateries and a very easy and efficient check in /out process. Just perfect! Highly recommend!

Beautiful property

Beautiful, clean and well stocked villa, with a great pool area in a brilliant location. Plenty on offer to entertain children from Lego to numerous tv apps as well as inflatables for the pool and bikes. Craig is a great host. An information booklet and a contact number are provided for any queries during your stay. We’d love to stay here again.

Lovely villa - perfect for young children

We enjoyed our stay at the villa with our 3 year old son. The host kindly set up a very sturdy pool gate which gave us peace of mind throughout our stay. The villa is well kept and we made use of all the facilities - WiFi, toys, water floats and washing machine. We will certainly come back again, perhaps not in September as the mozzies were horrendous!

Just what the doctor ordered

Another wonderful stay in this beautiful villa, surrounded by gorgeous scenery. Very comfortable villa, with all your mod cons you might need for your stay. Fantastic pool and location. Great for a peaceful stay / holiday. Such a perfect place to unwind and relax.Craig is a wonderful host, always at hand if you need him and nothing is too much trouble. Definitely recommend this villa. And we will definitely be staying here again. Looking forward to the next one xxx

We had a wonderful stay in La Papalaya! The house is cute, cozy and very well equipped, with a lovely green and private outdoor area that’s perfect for relaxing. The pool gets a bit messy due to the surrounding trees and every now and then a few bugs get lost in the house, but that’s understandable when being in a beautiful natural setting. The accommodation also comes with a stray cat that is very friendly. The location of the house is fantastic: peaceful and undisturbed, but not isolated. Pollença is full of charm, with a historic old town, a local market and great restaurants. The surrounding areas have excellent access to beaches, coves, the port, and the mountains. Shops are just a short drive or bike ride away. Bikes are provided, which is a lovely extra. The wifi is not great, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, since there are lots of other great things to do, anyways. The check-in was super easy and convenient. The best way to find the house is using the coordinates on Maps – after that, it’s easy to reach. Communication with Craig and Ben was always quick and very friendly. We had an amazing time and would come back in a heartbeat! :)

Excellent Villa

We had a lovely time staying at La Papylaya villa. The villa was in a great location with views of the mountains and we could walk into Puerto Pollensa. The villa had a lovely garden and swimming pool and was very well equipped. Craig was on hand if there had been any problems - which there weren’t. We would definitely stay at the villa again if we went to Puerto Pollensa

Outstanding property

Our second visit and and equally as impressed as the first time we saw this property. Immaculately kept and is like a home from home. It is about a 20/30 minute walk into the resort along a path away from the road. Taxis were used on an evening in the dark. Would definitely recommend!

fabulous villa

Craig has thought of everything you might need in the villa. He was so helpful.. The villa is well located for supermarkets etc. Close to both Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa. Craig provides lots of information on the area and Island, the Rough guide and Sunflower serirs books are available as well as useful notes.

Craig is a wonderful host, attentive and keen to fulfill all your wishes. La Papalaya has every amenity you could imagine. The rooms are very cozy and lovingly furnished, the kitchen has everything you need, the pool is inviting. The location is perfect for both sea and hiking excursions. The care of Craig and his team (before and during your stay) always makes you feel safe and cared for. If Mallorca, then with Craig!!

Happy times at Papalaya!

What a great week at this lovely homely and characterful villa. Really well stocked with everything one needed and beautiful art work that pleased us all. The bikes were a real asset when needing to nip to the local supermarket only a short ride away. Craig is an amazing host! All problems/ queries sorted immediately and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. We did hire a car but believe the buses are brilliant and easily accessible. We all agreed we would love to return!

Fantastic week’s stay

The villa was everything we hoped it would be and then some. Everything you could possibly need was provided. The pool and gardens felt so secluded but it was an easy cycle, walk or bus journey to the Port or into Pollensa. Craig is an outstanding host, so helpful and quick to respond to the queries we had. Being able to supply us with a UK plug converter and extra cycle helmet at very short notice. Even the restaurant recommendations were spot on. Thanks once again Craig, all the best Mark and family.

Fab villa

We loved this villa for 2 adults and two children 13 & 8. I can only echo the earlier reviews. Absolutely ideal location if you don't wish to drive. Only a 25 minute walk to Port de Pollenca and we got a taxi back only 7 euros. I used the bikes provided to go to the shops - there is a small shop about 2 minutes away and a larger supermarket about 5 minutes away. Everything you need is provided in the villa - it really was a home from home. Craig the owner was always at hand if you needed anything and solved any issues almost immediately. Would highly recommend and would love to return.

Lovely villa

We stayed here for 2 weeks, very comfortable with everything you could possibly need and anything missing was provided willingly by Craig and Maria. The villa is abt a 30 minute walk to the seafront but all very flat, you need a torch for the last 3rd of the journey if you decide to walk home but if you decide to get a taxi it is 6 euro. The area around the pool is now grass not paved. Pool area not 100% private as just a few trees separate you from the land behind where people were working a couple of days but to be fair not many people around.

2nd visit to this fantastic villa

This was our 2nd visit to La Papalaya and it was as great as we remembered. We hired a car this time to explore the island further, but were always keen to return at the end of the day and make the most of all the facilities provided at the villa. It was great to meet Craig this time and he was keen to know whether anything could be improved - we suggested some additional bits for the kitchen and he was back the next day with them! It is refreshing to deal directly with owners who truly care about their guests having the perfect holiday and nothing seems too much trouble. We will be returning again and have recommended to several friends who like high quality accommodation and a great holiday experience - we cannot recommend this villa highly enough. Thanks again Craig and Maria!

Very small grievances

A lovely bungalow in a convenient area, slightly difficult to access with other than a small car!. Enjoyed an 11 night stay, and suggest that a change of towels and bedlinen would have been appropriate , say, after 5/6 days. The TV proved temperamental, dropping 'out' frequently. Something amiss with either set or signal. Makes for frustrating watching!. Needs sorting.

Majorcan rustic villa

We booked this villa because of location and excellent reviews Craig is indeed a great host and the amenities, especially bikes and many added sundries all added to a lovely holiday. The mosquitoes were unfortunately out in force during our stay ( not Craigs fault) but we felt that the extensive shrubbery around the villa and wet grass from rain and sprinklers didn’t help the situation. We were conscious of bringing dirt in / out of the villa too because of the muddy grass. We tried to solve this by making a door mat! We rarely were able to sit outside to eat which was a shame. . Perhaps a nice patio area could be considered ?? ! In summary, had a lovely holiday and the beach front is a very short bike ride away which was perfect. Thank you

Beautiful villa and a perfect stay

This is truly one of the best holiday properties that we have ever stayed in. From the initial enquiry through to our arrival and stay, Craig was always responsive to any questions we had and provided lots of information to help make our stay more enjoyable. We arrived in the evening and found the essentials provided for us (teabags, coffee pods, milk, crisps, water and cava) which was a really thoughtful touch. The villa itself is absolutely perfect - everything seems to be thought of and there are so many small touches that it makes you want to never leave! The TV channels are extensive and there were DVDs and games provided for entertainment too (including table tennis!). We were very lucky with the weather and spent lots of time relaxing around the pool and gardens, which are immaculately maintained. The barbecue was used on a couple of occasions and we used Craig's recommended butcher in Pollenca, who was great. We stayed for 10 nights and only had use of a car for a couple of days - the rest of the time we were happy either eating in at the villa (there is a fully equipped kitchen) or walking into the port to try one of the many restaurants. We will definitely return to this fantastic villa and would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys peace and quiet in high quality accommodation.

A comfortable, private haven

From the start Craig is a fantastic and attentive host. After a small glitch (to our relief) trying to enter the wrong villa, we instantly loved La Papalaya with its good size pool, mature garden, well proportioned interior with local art adding a homely feel. It is far enough back from a fairly busy road for there to be minimal traffic noise but, at peak times, the crossing to the cycle path can mean a long wait. The villa is easy cycling distance from the edge of Puerto Pollensa or Pollensa town, that little bit further. Both locations are lovely so the villa is well placed whilst allowing a sense of escape and privacy. We loved our stay on Mallorca and at La Papalaya. Craig has gone out of his way to provide plenty of additional amenities such as bikes, pool toys, table tennis and indoor games, all of which enhance an already lovely place to base for the holiday. We can’t recommend La Papalaya highly enough and thank you, Craig.

The house is owned by myself and my partner, Maria Bennassar, who is the granddaughter of the late, local painter, Dionis Bennassar. We also run the museum which is dedicated him and worth a visit.

We live in Pollensa, just by the main square and are always available should you need us.
