Om boendet

Huset är byggt runt en privat innergård med bouganvillia, jasmin, rosmarin och banan och apelsinträd. Den gamla delen av huset har alla originaldetaljer samt nya klinkergolv och restaurerade traditionella upphöjda bäddar. Den nya tillbyggnaden har en spektakulär två våningar ljus väl som ger ett vackert ljus och luftig öppen planlösning och matplats och en trappa galleri med spektakulära vyer och en separat luftkonditionerade sovrum. Vi tillbringade ett år renovera det gamla huset och bygga det nya tillägget till en mycket hög specifikation med massor av funktioner som mosaik och handbyggda trätrappa och balustrad. Byn är en av de vackraste på ön och kombinerar det bästa av lugnt läge samt tre tavernor som serverar god mat och ett litet snabbköp. Rhodos stad är ett världsarv och ön är fylld med platser av historiska och moderna intresse samt över 100 km av stränder. Det är ett stort hus för en fantastisk semester som helst på året

Une agréable maison très bien rénovée et entretenue au coeur d'un charmant village.

Cette agréable maison est située au coeur du charmant village de Lachania. 5 à 10 minutes des plages, 2 minutes à pieds du restaurant los platanos, la maison de Clive est parfaite pour accueillir 2 à 6 personnes avec tout le confort nécessaire: 2 douches, machine à laver, très chouette cuisine, wifi. Je recommande !

Traditional house in Lachania

We loved it here. The house is large and consists of original and newer parts; we only used the newer section and appreciated the air conditioning in the main bedroom. The courtyard was a wonderful place to breakfast and enjoy the sunshine in total privacy. Lachania was also the perfect location for us, with beaches only a few minutes drive away and the wonderful taverna Platanos just around he corner. Anyone looking to get away from the growing numbers of tourists visiting Rhodes will feel at home in Lachania, as we did.

Beautiful house combining modern facilities with old world charm.

The new part of the house is lovely with a large open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area on the whole of the first floor. There is a spectacular light well above and a hardwood staircase leads you to the first floor. Here you have large windows with unobstructed views over the valley and another lounge sitting area with a TV. There is a free wireless internet and you can use the TV to watch programmes, play games etc. hooked up to your laptop. The master bedroom is also upstairs an has air conditioning. This has a door leading to a secluded roof terrace where you can sunbathe in private. The rest of the house is old, built round a secluded courtyard and the rooms have wooden roof beams and whitewashed walls. There are another two bedrooms in this part of the house as well as a second kitchen and a second bathroom/WC. We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is beautiful and comfortable and the village is also very picturesque with friendly local tavernas, especially the Platanos which is in the village platia next to the church. There are miles of beaches to cater for every taste and if you explore a little it is easy to find one for yourself or where your nearest neighbour is at least 100 metres away. I would highly recommend this house.

Authenticité à Lachania

C'est une maison où l'on se sent bien! Mélange du moderne avec l'ancien très sympa. La cours est une invitation à se poser, se reposer, lire, écouter (les cigales...), regarder, ressentir... Le village est très calme et on peut se perdre dans les ruelles à la découverte des Portes de Lachania, du Platane ou de l'église. Magnifique vue et couchers de soleil depuis les terrasses sur la campagne. On se gare facilement. La plage est à 5 minutes en voiture. Nous avons pu visiter l'Ile de Rhodes ( avec voiture de location) sans problème tout en étant à l'écart des gros bains de foule. Un havre de paix ! Nous espérons y revenir un jour. Août 2017

La maison est très agréable et parfaitement aménagée .on se croirait chez nous .

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour chez Clive ,la maison est jolie ,propre ,parfaitement située ..nous avons pu profiter de la très agréables taverne Platanos ,des magnifiques plages à proximité . Sans oublier la journee en bateau absolument magique. Merci au charmant couple de belges pour leur accueil et leur gentillesse.

Hello, my name is Clive and I live in London. I have been going to Lahania in Rhodes for over 20 years now and I have spent a lot of time renovating our lovely house and building the new extension. Everyone who stays in the house loves it and loves the village. I am sure you will too.

Varför värden valde detta boende

The village is in a beautiful river valley close to miles of beaches where you can choose to have a meal or drink at a beach taverna or find your own private cove. Lahania is a very beautiful traditional Greek village with a shaded platia by the church with a taverna and natural springs which used to be used in the old days to irrigate the village vegetable gardens. There are two other tavernas in the village as well as a little supermarket so you can find everything you need in the village. There is a small pension as well but no big hotels and you can enjoy a quiet and peaceful holiday within beautiful landscape. All the roads in the village were designed for donkeys rather than cars so it is very safe for children to wander and they soon find other children of their own age to play with

The property combines a lovingly restored old house with a sensitively built new extension. The old part of the house has two bedrooms and is used as a summer house as all the rooms communicate through the secluded courtyard. We have lovingly restored the original old beams,fireplaces and rough plastered walls. The new extension provides a new self contained one bedroom house on two floors with double glazing, air conditioning,fitted kitchen and wetroom bathroom as well as some original antique furniture and modern art. The extension is ideal for winter holidays when the weather can be chilly but provides the best climate to walk the fantastic countryside, especially in spring when the wild flowers are spectacular. The combined house has three bedrooms, two kitchens and two bathrooms/wc.
