En tidigare fårklippning skjul ger Shearers Cottage gäster med inte bara en elegant interiör, men också ett rymligt välutrustat kök med öppen planlösning och två vackra badrum sovrum. Stugan erbjuder gästerna en lugn bas för att utforska Suffolk Heritage kusten och den omgivande landsbygden. Utsidan av stugan är trä klädd i traditionell Suffolk stil och gästerna kan njuta av att se vilda djur genom de stora tri-faldig altandörrar på framsidan av stugan. Det är liten inhägnad trädgård kopplade till stugan men gästerna är välkomna att använda ägarna stora, inhägnade trädgården för bollspel mm och njuta av studsmatta och gungor. På gården finns också en äng för mer äventyrliga spel, alla ägare begär är att du suppervise dina barn hela tiden.

Memorable holiday

My wife and I took our two grandsons to Sutton Hoo for their half term break. The boys found the accommodation met all their needs with plenty of space outside to play their ball games. The facilities were excellent and would be ideal for anyone having an extended stay. In the area there was much to find for our lively grandchildren plus Sutton Hoo just five minutes up the drive. Would almost certainly visit again as a couple.

Great experience

From being a young teenager I’d always wanted to visit Sutton Hoo. Now in my 80th year and with mobility problems, I’ve achieved my ambition. Shearer’s cottage was everything we could have wished for. Helen, our host, was friendly, helpful provided us with Additional furniture to take into account my particular needs.Being so near to the NT entrance, I was able to have several visits as we were so close to the site. Thank you!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting

We stayed here to attend a wedding at Butley Priory, and it was a wonderful stay. There was plenty of room for me, my fiancé, and my friend, and it was a very clean and comfortable environment to spend a couple of nights in. Helen was extremely accommodating and communicative, and the location right next to Sutton Hoo was fantastic

Amazing stay - great location

The cottage is set in peaceful wooded location, it has lots of space and an enclosed outside area which was perfect for our pup. There is lots near by such as a gastro pub, unruly pig, lots of lovely walks, nearby fishing and golf too. Perfect for a UK get away so much so we have visted twice in 3 months and look forward to visiting again soon.

A lovely relaxing stay, which was just what we needed. Very comfortably beds and well equipped cottage. Good location for the surrounding area. Our dog enjoyed it too.

Family visits

Shearer's cottage has proved to be the perfect base, it was so comfortable, particularly the beds. And there was everything we could need to cater for ourselves. The copses and garden that surround are filled with birdsong too. So utter bliss.

Excellent stay!

We stayed in this lovely rental for a short stay. It was easy to find, the owners were helpful and the interior was superb - really comfortable and well maintained, with great appliances and lovely touches such as soap. The welcome pack was most welcome! Lovely part of the country and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, despite the 'big' storm coming along at the end!

My name is Helen Shand and I and my husband Garrow bought Castle Farm in 1987. We are from suffolk farming stock and wanted our four children to have plenty of space to play in safety. Shearers cottage was at that time an old sheep shearing shed in our front garden and we felt it would make an ideal holiday cottage. That was 24 years ago and now Shearers Cottage has been extended and re-furbished to a very high standard. We are therefore on hand if our guests need anything.

Varför värden valde detta boende

We bought Castle Farm, a 50 acre farm, to have more space for Garrow's contracting business and for our children to have plenty of space for horses, cars, bikes and loads of fun! We love this part of Suffolk as there is so much to do, the varied countryside, with woods, beautiful coastline and wide open spaces to explore, has something for everyone.
