Coach House ligger i den vackra staden Mere, idealiskt belÀget bakom den medeltida Castle Hill dÀr Mere Castle en gÄng stod. Med butiker, pubar, parker och böljande landskap alla inom gÄngavstÄnd Àr Coach House perfekt för din semester. BelÀget i den gamla delen av staden Àr vÄr nÀrmaste pub en 2 minuters promenad bort, och en snabb promenad uppför Castle Hill gör att du kan njuta av den hisnande utsikten över de omgivande tre lÀnen (Wiltshire, Dorset och Somerset). Det finns mÄnga attraktioner inom en timmes bilresa frÄn fastigheten. Ta en resa till Salisbury och besöka en av Englands bÀsta katedraler, eller sÀnk dig ned i Austens vÀrld genom att tillbringa en dag i Bath med dess fantastiska georgiska arkitektur och de berömda romerska baden. En 20 minuters bilresa tar dig till den imponerande Longleat (och safariparken), hem till Marquess of Bath, och det finns mÄnga National Trust-fastigheter i nÀrheten, (nÀrmast Stourhead) - av vilka mÄnga har anvÀnts som filmplatser och allt genomtrÀngd i engelsk historia och charm.

We had a truly wonderful stay at The Coach House, and managed to visit lots of lovely local towns all a short distance away, Frome and Shaftesbury were both highlights with lovely independent shops and spots to eat. The house is very comfortable and perfect for a family looking for a cosy escape. Mere is a beautiful little town, Helen was a great host and we had everything we needed on hand for a really relaxing stay surrounded by stunning walks and scenery.

Mere was quite busy over the Bank Holiday weekend, but this was not a problem. We had an excellent meal in the Stapleton Arms, Buckhorn Weston. The owners and staff were lovely, and they serve fresh fish daily.

Just the right level of cosy

Family stay

We needed a place to stay close to family in the village. Then coach house was a perfect option. A quick walk into the small main village. Everything was clean and easy to use. Helen was super responsive. Snug space but very comfortable. 2 bedrooms with comfortable beds. We had a lovely stay!

Fantastic Stay

History Festival Visit

We stayed for 2 nights whilst in the area for the Chalke History Festival. The Coach House was perfect for our needs and the village of Mere was great for evening meals choices and after dinner drinks. Helen, our host, met us as we arrived and gave us a very warm welcome. Would definitely stay again when in the area.

Great base for exploring

The house was comfortable and bigger than it looked from the photos. We enjoyed walking in the local area, with good walking routes provided, and visiting gardens, houses and towns.

Originally from Shaftesbury we were looking for our first home together. When we bought Long Hill House no one had lived in the nearby coach house since the coachman and coach (mud floors, hayloft etc). It took us three years to extend and convert - and we love it!
