Du hittar inte en bättre plats i hela Bridport! Mycket lugnt beläget i en "ingen genom" väg strax utanför East Street. Denna stenbyggda terrassstuga ligger 5 minuters promenad till Bucky Doo Sq där det finns levande musik de flesta lördagens marknadsdagar. Bridport ligger vid floden Brit och var ursprungligen en hamn och känd för sitt rep och nätframställning. Många av gränderna och twittens har sitt ursprung på grund av behovet av att lägga ut rep och nät. Endast 1. 5 meter från fantastisk jura kust (fantastisk fossiljakt) och West Bay (plats för Broadchurch). Du kanske stöter på lokala kändisar (Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Martin Clunes, PJHarvey, Billy Bragg och andra) plus kändisar i London som kommer att stödja evenemang på Electric Palace, där grupper regelbundet spelar i den återupplivade Art Deco-biografen. Det finns också Arts Center med ett eklektiskt utbud av konstutställningar, filmer och underhållning. Årliga evenemang inkluderar Food & Beer Festival, Literary Festival, Hat Festival & Open Art Studio vecka. Bridport har blivit ett centrum för "foodies" i Sydväst och har under senare år betecknats "Notting Hill on Sea" av en nationell tidning. West Bay ligger inom gångavstånd (1. 5 miles) och har fantastiska stränder, mycket bra restauranger - flera nyligen öppnade (prova The Rise, Station Kitchen och Klim Klams) och får redan bra recensioner - och ett lager med 3 våningar Custom House of vintage varor, lokala råvaror och få en brac, kläder belägna precis vid stranden. Valet av matställen är från sofistikerade fina restauranger till färgglada strandstugor för take-away.

Central location

Stayed in this property before love the location. It was a cold weekend and house was chilly we just extended the time that the heating was on which helped. Only criticism is the towels are very hard maybe something that could be looked at.

Great place to stay in Bridport

This lovely cottage is minutes away from the centre of Bridport. The self catering property has everything you will need for a comfortable stay. The house was imaculate, very clean. After a busy day, it was the perfect place to relax in the evening. We left something at the property and Penny , very kindly, offered to post it to us. We would love to stay again.

Superb September stay

Another repeat stay in this very convenient cottage so near the bustle of the high street, restaurants and beaches. No problem with on street parking at this time of year - get back before 5pm and there is parking available. Lovely to have 2 settees and throws to chill out on - not cold enough to put the heating on but makes for a cosy evening. Will be back!

We loved the little house in Barrack Street ,so near all the shops and amenities. I found the stairs in the house difficult to negotiate and would not come again because of this . If I were 20years younger I wouldn’t hesitate to make a return visit.

Lovely little cottage in a perfect location

We had a wonderful few days here. The house is a couple of minutes walk from Bridport town centre. It has everything you need, and the garden is a peaceful and beautiful spot (much bigger than it looked online)

Excellent Property & Venue

Really nice property. Cosy and comfortable. Location is great being within walking distance of high street (and all local amenities) and driving distance of the Jurassic Coast. Our family enjoyed the stay thoroughly and may return in 2022!

Easter break

We had a lovely time here over Easter weekend. The cottage was very comfortable and cosy and perfectly placed in Bridport for wandering around and soaking up the atmosphere. The garden was also so pretty and much bigger than we’d expected.

Short stay

We had a short stay in bridport. The location of this property was perfect. Walking distance to the high street with lots of pubs and places to eat. Cottage was very cosy, comfortable and very clean. Parking was a bit of a struggle due to the time of year but this was communicated to us via the hosts once we had booked. Overall great stay and would definatly stay again 😊

Another wonderful stay

We returned to this lovely cottage one again and our stay was perfect. The cottage is cosy and very neat and well appointed. Lovely spacious bathroom and bedrooms and beds all very comfortable. We were able to spend time sitting in the lovely cottage garden amongst the blue bells and. The cottage is in the centre of Bridport within a few steps of the town centre but in a back street which is very quiet with no passing traffic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return again.

Lovely cottage, shame about parking.

Lovely little cottage, but the most ‘lived in’ Vbro/Abnb place we have ever stayed in. It’s clean and tidy and well located, easy access to restaurants and shops and ideally located to explore the famous Jurassic Coast. The cottage had most things we needed for our short stay. Parking is however the biggest issue with this property as there is only one hours parking allowed outside the property as it’s permit holders only (no permit left for guests to use) and then it’s a case of hunt a space (there were literally none when we arrived and my husband spent a long time driving around trying to find one. Details say park in the carpark in Bridport, but we did not want to leave our newish car in a public carpark over a weekend, especially NYE weekend. The internet service is also very poor and travelling with a family who all have devices meant no one could actually download a webpage. There is also a Ring doorbell camera/light outside the property entrance, which although for security I’m sure is great, but as guests, it very much feels as though your comings and goings are being monitored. In addition, a sign saying on leaving can you strip all the beds (something I have done in every property I’ve stayed in without being asked) asked so blatantly when you’re paying a considerable cleaning fee does not sit that comfortably.

Urlaub im Cottage

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in Bridport genossen. Das Haus ist ganz entzückend mit speziellem Flair und sehr gut ausgestattet. Es ist sehr ungekünstelt, man merkt, dass die Besitzer es selbst benützen. Bridport hat tolle Infrastruktur bezüglich Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten.

Another lovely stay

Back again and just as enjoyable and cottage just as clean. Also blessed by the superb late heat wave. - spent most of our time at The Hive Beach, followed up by munching our way through the local eateries in Bridport. Happy times! Thank you!

Good location

A Cosy little cottage. Lovely garden For older people . Shower over bath. No handrail Steep narrow stairs . Lots of rules posted everywhere. Not relaxing. Some conflicting. Eg. Leave windows open. Leave windows closed. No soap for the shower. A small inconvenience for travelers Pepper grinder broken. No salt shaker Stingy wine glasses. Certainly not a welcoming experience. .

Our third great stay

Something must be good for us to return a third time! Albeit tinged with sadness as The Queen died on our way down. Cottage has had a facelift and retains its cosiness and cleanliness. Had a lovely time “just being” so we still have loads more to do on another trip. A perfect base for daytrips and enjoying local eateries. Thank you!

Good location

Very close to local shops. Local market on Wednesday and Saturdays also very good. Cottage has all that you need for a few days stay. Many beaches close by. Very good bus service, really no need to use car.

No 29 Barrack Street has been in our family for very many years and has been lived in by various generations at different stages of their lives, usually when bringing up small children. Family still live and work in the area - having graduated to larger detached houses to accommodate a growing family! - we are therefore familiar with all the local eateries, best places to visit and willing to pass on any local information.

The location - see our reviews - Although close to the main street in this ancient market town we are tucked away in a 'no through' road so you will get a decent night's sleep. The garden is secluded with an eclectic mix of trees and shrubs and whether you want sun or shade during the summer months there are plenty of seating areas.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The proximity to Bridport's main shopping street and all the different eating places whilst enjoying the quiet road and tranquil garden setting makes this a place to remember. We are 1.5 miles to the cost at West Bay and only 7 miles from Charmouth Heritage Centre where the 200 million year old fossilised sea dragon is currently on display. The fossil was discovered on the nearby Monmouth Beach.
