Tarbat Lodge erbjuder ett spektakulÀrt lÀge med utsikt över den pittoreska sten hamnen, med utsikt över Dornoch Firth till Sutherland bergen bortom. Portmahomack vackra sandstrand ligger i direkt anslutning till huset. Ursprungligen byggdes omkring 1740, har huset nyligen renoverats till en mycket hög standard för anvÀndning av Àgarnas familj och gÀster. Perioden charm mÀrkta hus har förbÀttrats med alla "mod cons" tillhandahÄlls. Huset har fem sovrum som kan rymma upp till 12 personer. Men det Àr lika bra för mindre grupper, för vilka en sÀnkning av abonnemangsavgiften kan vara tillgÀngliga utanför högsÀsong pÄ grund av arrangemanget av rummen. Pormahomack ligger pÄ Tarbat halvö som har en torrare klimat Àn de flesta av Skottland och inte lider av de knott som rÄder i andra delar. Det finns mÄnga saker att se och göra i nÀrheten, bland annat fantastiska golfbanorna.

Duncan and Rosemary bought the house in 2010 and live partly in the south. They come to stay in the house as much as they can.
Varför vÀrden valde detta boende
We bought Tarbat Lodge because we loved the village of Portmahomack which we have known for years as we have family connections in the local area.
Our children used to enjoy playing on the beautiful beach when they were younger. They now have groups of friends to stay.
There is so much to do in the area for people of different ages and with different interests : there are several other lovely beaches and coastal walks nearby; golf, dolphin-spotting, bird-watching, fishing, mountain-biking and many other activities are available; there are historic houses, castles and whisky distilleries to visit.

There is so much to do in the area for people of different ages and with different interests : there are several other lovely beaches and coastal walks nearby; golf, dolphin-spotting, bird-watching, fishing, mountain-biking and many other activities are available; there are historic houses, castles and whisky distilleries to visit.
Vad som gör detta boende unikt
We were drawn to the house because of it's special position on the sea-front with lovely views across the picturesque and historic harbour and the Dornoch Firth to the Sutherland hills.
The beach is so close by and there are very pleasant coastal walks to be had from the house.
The listed house has much of the period charm of the Georgian era, with light rooms, sash windows and shutters.
When we bought the house it was divided into two separate dwellings and required considerable work to transform it into a comfortable home. The improvements were designed very much with our own use in mind. We have found that the lay-out of the rooms works very well for large family gatherings.
It is easy to keep the house warm due to the underfloor heating, wood burning stoves and good insula
