Beautiful property in the country. Check-in is a bit complicated - 5 different keys for different doors and gates in the property. We had a car and you will need one if you stay here. It’s 15 minutes away driving to anything. Restaurant at hotel across the road is good. Owner was very responsive. Bring bug spray as mosquitos are everywhere.

Thank you for your review and for highlighting the beauty of the property, the quality of the nearby restaurant, and our responsiveness. The villa is a private countryside estate, designed to offer privacy, security, and independence rather than a hotel-style experience. There are indeed several access points, gates, and entrances, which naturally require separate keys, each with its own purpose. The rewards, however, are privacy, security, and an entire countryside property to enjoy. The location is intentionally rural and surrounded by nature. Guests choosing a countryside retreat should expect to be a short drive from shops and services, which is exactly what makes the area so peaceful and relaxing. Regarding mosquitoes, they can occasionally be present during the warmer months, as is common in rural areas and we do pest control twice in June and July. To ensure a comfortable stay, insect repellent and electric mosquito vaporizers are provided in the house. Thank you again for staying . We stay at VRBO properties a few times a year. This was among the top 10 properties in which we have stayed. The house was clean, comfortable, and had amazing views! The owner, Christiana, was very helpful in providing all the information about the property, directions were clear and if any issues arose, she was quick to respond. The housekeeper, Egla, responded to all of our questions and kept the house in tip top shape. We had some friends join us for part of our stay and they. were just as impressed as we were with this beautiful villa. This villa is just west of San Gimignano, so we traveled to various hill towns in the Tuscan area and were able to see a lot. In addition, directly across the road is a restaurant, Gusto Secondo Me. We were able to walk across the street for a delicious dinner several times during our stay. I would highly recommend renting this beautiful villa.

Our family of 6 (including 2 children and 2 grandparents) had a wonderful stay. The house was beautiful and views stunning! Cristiana was great at communicating throughout. Everything about the property is explained upon check-in. She left a gift of wine and olive oil which was such a nice touch. The house also had A/C which was amazing to have during the August heat wave! The property is well situated between Florence and Siena making day trips easy. It is also near grocery stores should you need. We also enjoyed a cooking class in the area which was fantastic! We’d highly recommend staying here when you’re in Tuscany!

Wow! This was our favorite of the 5 places we stayed on our 2 week trip to Italy. It was so nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the towns. The property was outstandingly gorgeous. Very charming home feel, it’s obvious the owner has a passion for it. Lots of personal touches including the art through out the home. Comfortable beds and living room furniture. We used every space available and enjoyed views from every angle. The grounds keeper Egla met us upon arrival and was there when we departed to assure we closed up properly and didn’t leave anything behind. Communication withthe host Christina was prompt and thoughtful. You could tell she honored the home and was extremely welcoming. Hated to leave. Will return! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Beautiful country setting on a hill near Poggibonsi with a stunning view of San Gimignano. Good restaurants in Poggibonsi about 9 kilometres away. You must book winery visits in advance Very well appointed villa, especially the kitchen. Enjoyed our week in May

Fantastic Tuscan villa

Everything was just as stated in the listing or even better! Communication with the property manager was quick and friendly via What’s App. The home was a great place to base our time in Tuscany out of. It was short ways from Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, and several other towns of interest!! Highly recommend booking this property if you want a little down time to rest enjoy the beautiful Tuscan hills during your vacation!

San Gimignano Barn Stay

The property was in a great location, and San Gimignano is a great town to visit. We drove to various small wineries for tours and all of them were very gracious. The view from the house into town was outstanding. Great sunsets. A few of the appliances could use directions, but otherwise great accommodations.

Wonderful Home Base in Tuscany

We stayed here with a couple of friends for a 6 night visit. The house is beautiful and just as described in the listing. It is a great location to unwind after a day of exploring the Tuscan countryside and other hill top towns. Cristiana was very responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend this VRBO.

Fantastic vacation home

This property is simply magical, in every way. The property is lovingly looked after by a competent staff. The building is something out of a movie, spectacular views, decorated impeccably and most comfortable. Christiana, the owner is most helpful and her recommendations are spot on. Do you get the feeling we loved this place?

Great Stay

The space was as advertised and had everything we needed. The only issue we had was synching up with the property manager for check-in. When traveling abroad it's tough to time things exactly when plans change.

We are glad that the space met your expectations and had everything you needed. We are surprised by your comment on issues in "synching up" for check-in. Since we rent a villa in the countryside and are not a hotel with 24 hour check in service, we do ask our guests to indicate their arrival time so that we can be there on time to greet them. If there is a time change we always accommodate our guests needs, just like we did in your case when you modified your arrival time from 6 pm to 12:30. Best regards

closest to being invited into someones home

I have stayed in lots of places and this has to be the closest to being allowed to stay in someones precious home. The facilities were perfect, its such a well planned and loved home which just happens to have one of the best views in italy. We loved its peacefulness, starry nights and dramatic thunder storms.

Super Tuscan home!

This home is spectacular In every way. It exudes everything you want in a Tuscan getaway. And the view, oh my, breathtakingly gorgeous. The home is appointed with every necessity. There are areas to sit and chill as well as areas to engage with each other inside and out. You will not regret any part of your stay as it is the perfect base for your Tuscany adventure.

I’d gladly live in this barn!

While it may have been a barn in the past, this home is a beautiful place to spend a week. The location seems remote when you look at a map, but it is a short trip to San Gimignano and Poggibonsi. Two nice restaurants are within a mile. The views are spectacular from the property, including a wonderful view of San Gimignano. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I would very happily return, but for a longer visit. I can highly recommend this property.

Best Ever!

The most beautiful, creatively designed property in an ideal setting. I wish I had booked for more days. Very thorough check in process with all the little things to make the house easy to use thought through including color coded keys and labeled switches. The restaurant across the street was a huge bonus and both the atmosphere and food were fantastic. This was the highlight of our 3 week Italy trip. If I come back, I would hope to stay here again.

A Perfect Family Getaway in San Gimignano!

Our family had an absolutely fantastic time staying at this charming barn in San Gimignano. The views were simply superb, offering breathtaking panoramas of the Tuscan countryside that we enjoyed every day. The barn itself was wonderfully equipped with everything we needed, making our stay comfortable and convenient. From the cozy bedrooms to the well-appointed kitchen, every detail was thoughtfully considered. We loved spending time together in the spacious living area and exploring the beautiful surroundings. This barn provided the perfect setting for our family to relax, reconnect, and create lasting memories. We can’t wait to return!

Beautiful Views

The house is beautiful and views are breathtaking of San Gimignano. The check in process was a bit lengthy, but we had no complaints about the property. It’s annoying to pay separately in cash for electricity used at the end of your stay, and mentally would be nicer if it was included in the initial price so it didn’t feel like you were being nickel and dimed.

We choose to inform guests with the important details on the house and garden at check in rather than leaving guests to their own devices to provide a better experience since the property is an architect designed villa and not a standard city apartment. Italy has had increases in electricity tariffs of 40% or more -with fluctuations- since the start of the Ukraine war. To be fair to our guests we decided to apply actual costs based on meters instead of a more expensive upfront lumpsum. We hope you understand and are very sorry if your short stay was spoiled by this detail. Best wishes

Wonderful Place to Stay

We stayed here with 4 adults and a teenager for a quiet time in the Summer. It was a perfect place for us, with a great quiet location, wonderful views and high quality house and furniture. We feel lucky to be able to stay here. The 3rd bedroom is a guest house not in the main building, which was perfect for us but might not be good for everyone. The location is nice and quiet but its a long way if you want to go to a cafe, shop or restaurant (Aside from the one just down the road). The access road is partially unsealed which might not be for everyone.

Fantastic!

This place is a jewel! What a phenomenal living space the owner's father designed and built from the near complete ruins of an old barn. And location? The views are simply stunning, with the towers of San Gimignano the crowning glory of 270-degree classic Tuscan views. The kitchen was well supplied, and upon check-in, we received a tour that was most helpful. Despite being only two or three kilometers outside of the town of Poggibonsi, which had restaurants, grocery store, etc., there was also a restaurant directly across the road from "the barn" in case we didn't feel like venturing out. This is an excellent place either to chill out or to use as a base for exploring nearby hilltowns.

An incredible Tuscany experience

There are so many fantastic things that I could say about our experience at the home of Christian Bianchi. This histoic home is incredible and we stayed 5 nights. The view of the olive trees, vineyards, mountains, and San Gimignano are breathtaking. And it's all sitting right in your backyard and from the living room window. So impressive that you can't believe what's sitting in front of you. The home location is extremely private with plenty of room and everything you might need. It's just 15 mins from San Gimignano and great for day trips to the Chianti region,Volterra, Siena and others. Christina was so helpful with recommending restaurants, grocery locations, other villages, and more. There's a lot of history around this home and I'm so that that we were able to share in it. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

Spectacular !!

We loved everything about our stay, from the very comfortable beds and living areas to the amazing trees and shrubs on the property and of course the amazing vistas!! We hired a fabulous tour guide one day and she took a picture of the vista it is so beautiful!!! We even nailed the many keys and Security system. Recommend stopping in poggibonsi for food and wine before arrival. Also come in with your cash for check-in because the ATM wasn’t easy to find. Thank goodness for Sergio, who helped us find one!! We cooked in a few nights, had breakfast at the outdoor dining table, hung laundry out to dry in the back yard, walked across the street for a relaxing and delicious dinner and drive all over Tuscany including a visit to Florence! Could have easily stayed longer and may come for a full week next time.

Beautiful Villa with stunning view

The setting for the villa could not have been better. It overlooked the town of San Gimignano in the distance. The property was lovingly restored from a ruin to its current status and the attention to detail was evident! There was an olive grove on the property and we had the pleasure of watching them begin their harvest just before we left. The villa was stocked with everything we needed, including a washer and dryer and the kitchen was very well equipped. Having the bedrooms on 2 separate levels added to the privacy for each couple. The living room area was massive with comfy furniture. There was an outdoor dining table, but we were gone most of time sightseeing and exploring so we didn't use the outside space much. The directions to the villa were perfect and the caretaker met us there and gave us a very thorough tour of the villa, explaining everything. There was a PAM supermarket very close by that was absolutely wonderful. We also bought some smaller items like cheese and salami from local vendors at the market in San Gimignano. We poked around San G and also went into Sienna and up to Greve in Chainti for a wine tour at Castello Di Verrazzano, which I would highly recommend. Our host Christina was very responsive via Whatsapp and it is clear that this venture is a labor of love for her. It was a bucket list wish to spend time in a villa in Tuscany and we are so happy we made it happen at Christina's villa.
