En lyx ett sovrum stuga, renoverade och regelbundet uppgraderas, i grunderna för Rough Close House, skild från huvudbyggnaden genom en innergård. Boende är för 2 vuxna. Det finns gott om, lätt off road parkering.
Besökare är välkomna att njuta av trädgården och kan också se Ospreys som bo på Esthwaite Water. Deras bo kan ses från Coppice-loungen, de brukar stanna mellan början av april och slutet av augusti. Det fanns två olika nestpar och varje hade 3 kycklingar i sommar.
Fastigheten är idealiskt beläget för ett brett utbud av aktiviteter, inklusive promenader, mountainbike, fiske eller sightseeing. Oavsett vad du väljer vi hoppas att du kommer att trivas på energiskog.

Wonderful place to stay

The Coppice is a cosy, comfortable cottage with generous rooms for two, an outstanding location, and generous hosts, Geoff and Gill. We were so fortunate to see the osprey every day and sunshine too. A wonderful place to stay.

Wonderful!

We had a fantastic stay at this gem of an apartment! The location was perfect, just a stones throw away from stunning lakes and charming villages. The apartment itself was beautifully furnished, immaculately clean and super cosy. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and informative. We can’t wait to return.

Excellent in every respect

We were only staying for 2 nights but would like to go back to stay a week next time. Very comfortable and spacious accommodation for two; with 4 good-sized rooms (including the bathroom) it is larger than it appears from the outside. Beautiful situation and I would imagine some good areas for walking nearby although we didn't have time to explore.

Peace and quiet.

This cottage is certainly a home from home. Homely, warm and comfortable. Very spacious and lovely views. We loved watching the Osprey both from the cottage and on the water. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with very welcoming hosts. Thank you.

Gorgeous little cottage

From the warm greeting to the fresh flowers in the lounge, our arrival at the cottage was great. The accommodation had everything you could need and was clean and comfortable. Geoff and Gill were hospitable without being in any way obtrusive, we definitely felt at home right away. The location was superb and we didn't seem to need to venture very far away to find excellent walks, access to the lakes for our canoe and lovely dinners out. A great place to stay all round, we will be back.

Wonderful Oasis

Everything about Coppice was top shelf. Our welcome and introduction to the wonderful cottage, the explanation to the location and what was offered by the locale as well as how everything functioned within the cottage spot on. Gil and Barton were absolutely amazing and the cottage was one of the best stays that we’ve had. The cottage is warm and inviting it has all the necessities that one would need to have a wonderful and complete vacation. It’s location in the lake District makes it ideal for getting around. It was a wonderful and memorable stay. Thank you ever so much..

3 night stay

Absolutely perfect place for us to celebrate my wife's 50th. Great scenery and short drives to Ambleside, kendal, Windermere and keswick all under an hour. Clean and well set out. Gill and Geoff the property owners where very nice and help us with places to eat. We'll recommended for a peaceful relaxing place to come back to after exploring the beautiful area.

Coppice retreat

This is a fantastic cottage which we have stayed at previously. It is just outside of the village of Hawkeshead lovely and peaceful and only a short walk to the village and a great location for a base to visit local areas such as Conniston, Ambleside and Windemere. The owners are lovely and really helpful if you need anything. I would certainly book this cottage again.

Cosy and homely ❤️

We loved our stay at The Coppice! We certainly didn't want to leave, and plan to return very soon. Everything was perfect, we had a lovely walk from Ambleside over to Elterwater and back. And couldn't wait to get back to our cosy pad.

Lovely comfortable cottage

We arrived later than we expected, but Gill the host, was lovely and very understanding. The cottage was so cosy and clean we where very pleased with it, felt home from home really. Hawkshead village, that isn’t far at all, such a lovely place, a few quaint shops plus pubs and a coop, such a lovely feel about the place. We are definitely going to be staying again, a nice relaxing stay was needed and had.

Perfect holiday cottage

This is a fantastic cottage in a lovely location. There is a very spacious living room, well equipped kitchen and dining area, large comfortable bedroom and a good size bathroom with a shower. It is in lovely grounds and overlooks Esthwaite Water. The hosts Geoff and Gill are very nice and helpful with their knowledge of the area. They provided a welcome pack on our arrival. We enjoyed our little chats with them when we were on our way out each day. We are already thinking of our next visit here. Would highly recommend.

Peaceful location

The accommodation is clean, comfortable and spacious for a one bedroomed cottage. It is beautifully maintained and the decor is in keeping with its character. Sadly, we only had a couple of days to enjoy the peace, quiet and beautiful scenery (wish it had been longer). The Coppice had everything we needed and our host (Gill) was very welcoming. Thank you.

The Coppice

The Coppice is extremely well equipped with top quality fittings throughout. It is spotless and really comfortable. For us it was an excellent location close to major sites in the southern lakes. Geoff and Gill were excellent hosts who were helpful and on hand but never intrusive. We would highly recommend The Coppice.

Having retired, we are still excited to be able to live in the heart of the Lake District in a beautiful location. We have worked in the area for over 30 years and have a background in sport and outdoor pursuits, so we know how to enjoy it and where to go, even pubs and coffee shops!

Knowing the Lake District very well we looked over the whole of the area before choosing Rough Close because of it's fantastic setting between Grizedale forest and Esthwaite Water. It is a beautiful location in any weather and at any time of year.

It is quiet and picturesque, yet very close Hawkshead and central to some of the Lake Districts' finest and most famous visitor attractions. The Coppice has been luxuriously updated and is maintained to to a high standard. It is very spacious and will certainly help you to make the best of your stay in the Lake District.
