CAN MATEU - Chalet with terrace amidst the Tramuntana mountain range, a few km from Biniar

Charming chalet in the midst of the Tramuntana Mountains with room for 3 people and just a few km away from Biniaraix and Fornalutx.
This beautiful mountain cottage boasts a great exterior area with an amazing landscape around. There's a fenced area where you can sunbathe on the 4 sun loungers containing a fantastic terrace which is completely furnished for a great meal with your family or friends. You will also find a BBQ that you can use from 16 October till 30 April (the rest of the year, it's forbidden to light a fire in order to protect the forest surroundings). Privacy is total and there are not neighbours nearby, so you won't be disturbed.

The cosy living room, with a wood stove, is the perfect place to relax after a day full of activities. Here, you can watch a film in the TV-Sat or enjoy a good reading. The kitchen, which is open to the previous space, offers a gas stovetop, and it is perfect to cook and have lunch right there, since it also counts with a wooden table and chairs, what a luxury! The washing machine, the iron and the ironing board also are in the kitchen. The house comprises two bedrooms with a double bed, a closet and a fan. We can provide with a cot and a high chair if you are travelling with your children. There is a bathroom which is great to have a relaxing shower after a day of adventures in the island. Finally, the finca features solar panels and an alternator.

The property is right in the middle of the mountains of the Tramuntana range, then, the perfect place for those who love nature and excursions. The small towns of Fornalutx (6.5 km away) and Biniaraix (5 km away) are not far away although you must keep in mind that the road that leads to this villages is an unpaved mountain road with curves and that it takes about 20 - 25 minutes to reach to any of them by car. This is the reason why we highly recommend a small car. The wonderful towns of Sóller, Valldemossa or Banyalbufar are easily reachable after that road. And the nearest sandy beach is in Puerto de Sóller, about 13 km away.

A lovely, well equipped, comfortable house and garden

A lovely, well equipped, comfortable house and garden, set among the olive terraces and with stunning views. We sat on the terrace and ate in the evening then sat by the wood burner when it got chilly. Great for walking up into the mountains (there is a footpath going by the garden) or down into the valley. As the other reviews said the road up to the house was really steep, narrow and winding, so hire a smaller car. The owner kindly met us and led us there the first time though and we thought the location well worth it.

Es war zauberhaft, ein Ruheplatz den wir vollkommen genossen haben! Das wifi war sehr stark! Die Fahrt hoch in die Berge war sehr herausfordernd, vor allem in der Nacht. Es war sehr toll, dass uns der Besitzer sogar nach zehn den Weg bis zum Apartment gezeigt hat.

Wunderschöne Lage , umgeben von Olivenhain, eines der letzen Häuser auf dem Berg und von daher sehr ruhig , ein Ort zum Entspannen. Der Check - In verlief reibungslos . Wir wurden am Treffpunkt von dem Hausbesitzer abgeholt und sind ihm mit unseren Auto gefolgt. Die Fahrt zur Unterkunft ist abenteuerlich, es geht etwa 30 Minuten über enge einspurige Serpentinen mit z.T Gegenverkehr bergauf. Sehr gute Fahrkenntnisse sind unbedingt (!) erforderlich . Tipp: ihr solltet den Einstieg in die Serpentinen, durch Söller aufzeichnen, da dieser alleine erstmal wiedergefunden werden muss. Dafür erfolgt dann die Entschädigung durch dieses zauberhafte Anwesen und die liebevoll eingerichtete gut ausgestattete Finca mit einem sehr schönen Garten. Von der Finca aus , sind Wanderungen leider scheinen beschriebene Wanderung durch die Obstplantagen nicht mehr möglich. Der Weg ist zugewachsen und als privat gekennzeichnet.

Ein paradiesisches Fleckchen inmitten der Serra de Tramuntana. Der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und hat uns gut den teils recht abenteuerlichen Weg auf den Berg gebracht. Den Beginn der Route in Biniaraix sollte man sich gut merken, die Unterkunft hat uns in der Abgeschiedenheit und atemberaubenden Idylle wundervolle Tage bereitet.

Absolute seclusion and tranquility in the ancient olive groves. Do be warned, it is 30 minutes driving from Sóller and better done in a smaller car. The kitchen was well equipped and the outdoor dining area was nice for watching the mountains against the darkening sky in the evening. Mateu was helpful in coming to meet us and lead us up to the olivar. As it was quite hot during our stay a few more fans would have been great.

We had a wonderful time at Mateus house!

His place is absolutely stunning !!! It’s the best place to enjoy the nature and silence :) But you really need to know that it is at the top of the mountain… it’s really hard to get there, especially by car. It was a really difficult and scary drive….

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit in der Finca. Unser Gastgeber hat uns wie vereinbart abgeholt und uns alles super erklärt. Der Kühlschrank war mit Nettigkeiten gefüllt und es gab zur Begrüßung eine leckere Flasche Wein. Vielen Dank nochmal dafür. Die Finca ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und die Umgebung lädt dazu ein dem stressigen Alltag zu entfliehen. Jederzeit wieder gerne..

Unique place to stay in the mountains

Unique place to stay in the mountains, with amazing views over the region of Sóller and the mountains. The place offers everything you need, e.g. a fully equipped kitchen and enough place to fit on sunny or rainy days. Spending the morning or evening on the terrace was wonderful, you also have a nice view of the sunset a few meters next to the apartment. The place is quiet and well separated from neighbors. In addition to the other comments: Please note that the road to the apartment is really long, sometimes narrow and not easy to drive! It takes 20-30 mins to reach the apartment, there is no way to shortcut this. Keep this in mind when planning trips. Nevertheless it was a wonderful experience and we are really happy to find this place.
