YURT på Screwball Ranch ligger högt i västra Colorado vid södra basen av Grand Mesa, världens största platta bergsbrygga - med över 300 sjöar och miles och miles av vandring, cykling, gömning, jeep, ATV och snöskoterleder.

Det här är ingen vanlig YURT! YURT på Screwball Ranch är stor (över 900 kvadratmeter - inklusive loftet) och innehåller ett komplett 3/4 bad, fullt utrustat kök (propanutrymme och ugn, kylskåp, mikrovågsugn, kaffebryggare, köksredskap etc. - ingen diskmaskin , men Hey - det är en Yurt), öppen vardagsrum, vedspis, propanvärmare, solkraft (generatorbackup), stor däck, sluten entré, tillräcklig förvaring och takfönster. Den YURT sover bekvämt fyra - två enkelsängar på loftet och två full size futons i vardagsrummet. Du kommer vara avskild på din privata 80 timmars täckta hektar. Du har privat tillgång till tusentals angränsande BLM hektar. Det finns miles och miles av privata vandrings-, cykelturer, ATV och hästspår som börjar precis vid din tröskel.

Great yurt. Tom and George were helpful and provided all necessary information. My dog loved the fenced in area. The yurt does get hot from 1:00 to 5:00. But Grand Mesa is only a 30 minute drive away. Lots of water and 70 degree temps. Definitely hoping to book again next year.

Such a beautiful place. Love the fenced yard for the dog. Stayed plenty warm at night and the cool breeze during the day when we open the windows. Near area with lots to see.

Third times a charm.

We made our third visit to the Yurt so no surprises. Visited our old haunts (hiking trails) on GM and Leroux Creek. Our hosts, Tom and George, were always available. This place is a favorite for views and comfort. We hope to visit again.

This Yurt is amazing! The quietness and the views from the patio are otherworldly. If you need a true getaway, The Yurt at Screwball Ranch provides the opportunity to clear your mind and take in nature at your own pace. There is plenty of adventuring to do within a short car ride, or you can soak it in by just walking out the door and enjoying the grounds. If you are looking for this to be a hotel stay, it isn't that, but having a fully functioning kitchen and bathroom in a yurt is such a luxury! We were thrilled to enjoy the ruggedness of camping, without the drudgery of setting up a tent. The dark sky area, void of town lights, put on a beautiful show of a million stars. That will go down as one of my favorite reasons for a return stay. And we will be back! I only put 4 starts for cleanliness because I want people to understand that you are staying in a place that is essentially a cabin in the woods. Which is 100% why you should book this place and love it! But if you are someone that is expecting pristine conditions... you don't deserve the remarkable goodness that is this yurt. Maybe note that the yurt is not right off the road. You will be driving in on a curved and rocky road- our truck handled it without issue, but be prepared for that.Totally worth the stay. I definitely recommend The Yurt at Screwball Ranch if you are looking for a peaceful adventure!

The Peace and Relaxation We Needed

Tucked away in a quiet section of the property. Wonderful views from the back deck. Lots of space for our dog to roam. Very cozy, quiet, and relaxing. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Perfect getaway

We enjoyed everything about the Yurt. Perfectly appointed and the fenced area for the dog was an added bonus. Wood stove kept us warm, amazing view off the porch along with the privacy was just what we needed. Our hosts were awesome and took great care of us. We loved our time here and can't wait to come back.

Our last guests of the 2018 season had to brave early winter weather but seemed to enjoy the quiet solitude enhanced by western Colorado's fall closing in on winter. Now we'll prepare The YURT at Screwball Ranch for winter and plan the new additions and preparations for our 2019 spring opening in late March / early April. We hope to see Jennifer back soon.

Best way to unplug

We had a wonderful time at the Yurt. We spent a lot of time unplugging and relaxing near the fire while our dogs explored the property. We had the best time and want to return soon!

Quiet Paradise

We absolutely loved our time at the Yurt! George the host, was super knowledgeable, helpful, and even built a small ramp for my partner who uses a power wheelchair. The views from the porch were great! Birding, bonfires, and brunch on the porch were some of the things we did. We definitely want to come back!!!

Perfect mountain escape

My husband and I had the absolute best vacation in Cedaredge and the surrounding areas, and the Yurt was a huge part of that! It was so comfortable, homey, and secluded, which was such a nice thing to look forward to at the end of a long day of exploring the Western Slope. The Yurt was JUST rustic enough to give us a true off-grid experience, but with all of the creature comforts and amenities needed to not have to worry about truly "roughing it". George was so kind, and very thorough with his instructions so we never had to bother him once! I would 10000% recommend the Yurt to anyone hoping for a true mountain experience, and I hope that we will be able to come back again!

Western Colorado Paradise.

A return to Delta County after six years away. The Yurt gave us a great location for revisiting our old haunts on Grand Mesa. The property was well equipped and very comfortable. One of the manager/owners lives nearby. The guest manual answered all our questions. Thanks to you all.

Convenient, Yet Off the Grid

Thanks guys for a great stay at The Yurt; you took very good care of us. The Yurt at Screwball Ranch is close enough to town to be convenient, yet secluded enough to give you that great “off-the-grid” feeling. One of the biggest perks for us was that we could let our beagles roam the property on their own. The fence gave them a huge area to roam without the possibility of getting lost; which made our life simpler while at The Yurt. We recommend The Yurt to everyone.

Yep, your beagles aren't the first dogs to rave about The YURT at Screwball Ranch's security perimeter that allows them to roam freely when their owners are busy doing something else or have gone to town to by more dog food. ...and all those smells - Ils sont magnifiques! The YURT at Screwball Ranch loves pets - and pets love The YURT at Screwball Ranch. We're pleased you humans enjoyed your time "off-the-grid" but still with most of the amenities of easy living. Thanks for trying our unique spot in the western Colorado Pinons and Junipers.

The owners use this property as the family's big game hunting headquarters the late weeks of October every year. Hunters travel in from literally from border to border, coast to coast each year to savor about 10 days off-the-grid and into western Colorado Rocky Mountain splendor.

The rest of the year (from April to late October we make our unique property available to others that want solitude, quiet, a teeny bit of roughing it, a limited amount of networking, and just plain relaxation.

We love pets - all sizes, types, and shapes. We have corrals, and about two acres of property surrounding the YURT, fire-pit, parking, etc fenced such that you can turn your pets loose while you make shopping or day trips about the area. We do appreciate advanced notice if you're planning on bringing your pet elephant or hippo. We'll have to make special plans for additional water.
